    Thanks very much for the effort you put in making these videos and in answering so many questions in one video... I switched to the MIND diet since my stroke in February 2024... at first it was very difficult but when my entire family also switched to the same diet it became very easy and now its normal... It helped me and my entire family lowered our cholesterol, glucose, pressure, stress and weight.... I would encourage everyone to try the MIND diet even if you haven't suffered a stroke...

    Thanks for the information! I've been on the DASH diet since my stroke in December. I'm allergic to fish, fish products and shellfish any ideas for substitutions?

    • @PostStrokeOrg
      @PostStrokeOrg  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @lizgolden97 I hope the DASH has been helpful for you! The main benefit of fatty fish is omega-3 so finding substitutions with omega-3 that work with your allergies and diet would be good! Like I mention, walnuts are high in omega-3 and you could also talk with your doctor about other substitutions that may be helpful for your specific situation! 😊

    Our family member had to have PEG feeding tube installed after his stroke because of difficulty swallowing and silent aspiration. He's slowly transitioning to pureed food and thickened liquids.

    IMHO, cut the sugar and the industrially processed seed oils (they aren't vegetable oil).
    margarine and 'processed American cheese food' are not options for me.

    Attention! The caffeine you get from teas are not the same as the caffeine you get from coffee. Coffee caffeine has tons of new research showing while it coffee has benefits the caffeine in it has been linked to a lot of health risks. And remember typical decaffeinated coffee uses chemicals to decaffeinate it. Look for Swiss water processed decaffeinated coffee. And try to get it in bean form because dirt, twigs, bugs and rodents are always being found in ground coffee. Hope this helps y'all 😊
