    Thank you from some just having experienced an aeschaemic stroke (10 days ago)
    I think determination plays a big part.
    Thanks for the information.

      A determined mindset empowers you to fully engage in your rehabilitation exercises, triggering the release of brain chemicals that help rewire your neural pathways. Your mental strength helps you stay consistent with therapy even on tough days, which is crucial since your brain needs repeated practice to build new connections. Managing your stress through determination creates an ideal environment for your brain to heal and adapt, as high stress can interfere with recovery. Setting clear goals and reaching out for support from family and healthcare providers will help structure your journey toward recovery.

    Hi Dr BEn, I'm recently diagnosed as an acute ischemic stoke patience since 11 Mar 2021 and has impaired both my left arm and left leg... However I read with interest with your neuro plasticity and your profound development brain repairs and the ability to recover.WILL APPRECIATE IF YOU COULD SHARE MORE RELEVANT VIDEOS TOWARDS THIS AREAS. I had an opportunity to review your blog &on your free minicourse which are no relevant and wish to focus on areas of neuro plasticity

      Hi, really sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis. We will have some videos in the future on some aspects of neuroplasticty. Take good care of yourself.

    Hi Dr Ben. My friend had a hemorrhagic stroke 3 months ago. He can do all his daily routine stuff. The hemorrhagic stroke was in the basal ganglia. According to the CT scans there is no damage in that area. His speech has also improved a lot. he can write as well but the issue is with his reading. He can read alphabets in an order like A-Z but when asked randomly it becomes difficult for him.

    If you suffer from a chronic emotional trauma and sleep deprivation of 3 years during a stroke recovery period, will this affect your brain recovery ability?

    • @DrBenWebb
      @DrBenWebb  6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Sleep deprivation disrupts neuroplasticity and increases inflammation, both of which can significantly slow stroke recovery by interfering with the brain's ability to form new neural connections. Emotional trauma often triggers stress responses that increase cortisol levels and can lead to depression and anxiety, which reduce a patient's motivation to participate in crucial rehabilitation exercises. These factors frequently create a challenging cycle, as emotional trauma can cause sleep problems, while sleep deprivation weakens emotional resilience. Modern stroke rehabilitation programs address this by combining physical therapy with sleep hygiene support and psychological counseling to optimize recovery outcomes.

      @@DrBenWebb Thanks for you prompt response. I always wonder about what physiological changes in my body as I am still feeling severe fatigue 8 years after my hemorrhagic stroke during which I was facing a challenging situation of living next to a partner who has an affair at work.

    Ok, so how do I get access to these therapies? I had frontal right lobe hemmoragic stroke about 20 months ago, can't walk properly, use my left arm properly, constant pain and fatigue, insomnia, mood swings, short term memory problems, balance issues, spasticity, body temprature control issues. Live alone, can't even tie my shoe laces, had to ask the postman to tie them today, HELP!

      So sorry to hear about your stroke and the symptoms you are experiencing. As I mentioned, these therapies are all experimental and still under development. You can find out which labs are developing them in this article: www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fneur.2020.554089/full#:~:text=Brain%20plasticity%20is%20defined%20as,itself%20and%20its%20remote%20effects.

      Avoid consuming processed foods, sugar, carbs, artificial sweeteners, food coloring, and MSG. Instead, prioritize consuming real food, particularly dark greens, 100% grass-fed beef, organic eggs, and chicken. Additionally, make it a habit to exercise daily. To support your overall health, consider taking vitamins C, D3, MkVitK2, magnesium, curcumin, omega-3, vitamin B, grape seed extract, and quercetin. These nutrients are known to reduce inflammation in the brain caused by strokes and unhealthy lifestyle choices. Furthermore, as we age, inflammation in the brain becomes more prevalent, but the aforementioned nutrients can help alleviate inflammation and preserve neural networks. Remember, junk food is a major contributor to brain inflammation.

      I had an ischemic stroke 4 years ago and I'm still slowly recovering. Affected my right side. It takes a lot of work. Lots of brain fog. A lot of muscle feedback. I sat down with my computer and wrote down everything I could remember like a chronology.

    Thought's on micro dosing ? Psychedelics?

    • @DrBenWebb
      @DrBenWebb  6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Current research suggests that certain psychedelics like psilocybin and DMT may aid stroke recovery by increasing Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF), which promotes neural repair and growth, while also reducing inflammation and enhancing neuroplasticity. Studies, primarily in animals, have shown promising results for improving motor function recovery and reducing post-stroke depression, though human clinical trials are still limited. While these compounds show potential therapeutic benefits, significant research gaps exist regarding optimal dosing, and safety concerns include medication interactions and cardiovascular risks, making medical supervision essential. The field remains restricted by legal limitations, and any consideration of these treatments should involve careful discussion with healthcare providers to evaluate individual risks and benefits.
