Thanks David. Glad you brought up the part about it kind of tipping on a canted road. I live in a coastal town where the majority of my running is at some sort of angle so it's a good thing to be aware of

Possible to go down half a size being wide? I usually need to go up half a size in Hoka because of the narrow toebox..

Would definitely not go down a size due to how low volume upper. Fit is almost short but not quite. -Matt

Did first 10 k Tempo run in them. I have wide feet and they feel perfect. First Hoka that fits me TTS. They feel very bouncy but they actually reminded me of the Mizuno Wave Rebellion Pro V1. Same ride.. Heavier.. More stable.. Like a training partner for the Mizuno Wave Rebellion Pro V1. Fist I thought its like Alphafly but the longer I run it felt like a chubby brother of the Mizuno Wave Rebellion Pro V1. Definitely not a racing shoe for me. By the way.. I ❤ the laces 🎉.

Beautiful looking shoe, great review, i love the Mizuno Wave Rebellion Pro but I feel it suffers the same fate when running on cambered roads, the roads where I live are mot territbly cambered but enough to stop me considering it for a full marathon but have run training 20k+ runs in them. I was so looking forward to this

I will be using this shoe for the Barcelona ironman in October. Last year I ran in the Rocket X2. The Cielo is definitely a bit heavier, but the greater energy return seems to compensate for this so speeds are similar. It's more stable than the Rocket, which is good for Barcelona as the surface is not perfect. Finally it's easier to get on than the Rocket, the tongue/gusset is not so 'sticky' and it has more volume than the Rocket. i.e. it's slightly wider and higher for the same length. I wear the same size as the Rocket, which is half a size up from most others, and a full size up from my 'normal' shoes.

Looks a lot like the Puma Fast R... Wonder if any Hoka athletes will be wearing these on Saturday? I'll be there watching...

I bet at least some Hoka athletes will be wearing them. Wesley Kiptoo wore these at the 2023 Chicago Marathon (specifically the black prototype colorway).

Hi, can we use cielo x1 as daily trainer?

It’s not very comfortable at slow paces. It’s meant to workout and race for sure.

For those that have slight overpronation concerns and have run in it, how does this the Cielo X1 go considering the cutout on the insole is on the lateral side, would i be correct in thinking it pushes you more lateral than medial, thus in turn being a bit of a savior for those who overpronate?
    Thanks

Isn't this a unisex shoe? How do they differentiate between mens and women's?

Thank you for the review”! Got wider feet (on the boarder of D going to E), so this might be good fit. It also sounds like a fun feeling shoe. Ordering one to experience it.
