@@monochrome_soft9472 well if you’ve ever played racing games or even painted cars in other games there’s certain paints that you can use two colors to create what the shine of the paint would be, for example having the main paint be black but have the secondary color be red so when you see the shine off the car on the curves it looks the red color. I don’t remember the exact paint name. It makes complete sense that in a game they would need to program what color things would need to be in different lighting. Otherwise it would be like the old Play station games where the grass is always bright green yet the sky is black for night time.
What makes it worse is that in all previous models of the suit, which are seen in the trailers for the game, and even on the game cover the suit is red. Don't know why they changed that in the final release

i want more wacky costumes like the kamen rider suit. the colors and the unique shader are so pleasing to look at. the artist who designed it is one of my favorite artists and it makes me so happy he got a chance to make it.
Absolutely unforgivable take on the Anti-Ock suit😭 it's sleek and clean like the black and green stealth suit, with great texturing and layering and with it being the same material as Doc Ock's arms. It not only has differently shaped eyes, but they're still expressive, which many suits with custom eyes lack. My only complaint is that i wish the yellow was a little deeper, as its really light, especially in the daylight, but it is a CLEAN suit and is perfect for a serious final showdown using Otto's tech against him.
Possibly the FIRST person I've seen give the Resilience suit such HIGH PRAISE😭. Tbh I would've loved a comic tie in to explain that suit like they did for the Velocity suit. Most likely some kinda of Nanotech weaving like the Black Panther suit. ONLY thing that makes sense at least to me😂

I personally believe Insomniac did an amazing job at reinventing of the classic suit into the Advanced suit. As you said, the orange isn't great, and it should have kept the boots, but overall the design is great. Their more original costumes are a bit more mixed for me. I hope the new Advanced suit for 2 is as red as it is in the trailer. PS: Love your Spidey mask. The eye shape reminds me a lot of Scott Johnson's artwork from the early-mid 2000s, which to me was the peak of Marvel artwork.
I think the armored advanced suit matches the silver lining dlc which is a whole new game itself, and thats what turf wars, the heist, and silver lining felt to me, a mini sequel, also in my head its a gift from sable Ps: The anti ock suit and the armored suit are meant to be one thing, a final boss suit made specifically to counter the specific villain’s powers
I always saw the White 2099 suit as something Spider-Man either cobbled together with Sable Tech or as you said, a gift from Sable. And the Advanced Suit to me is just an add on he put on during the Turf War to add extra protection for himself

Similar to how the negative and (I forgot its name, but the one with the wrist pieces) suits are similar styles to the Demons, and the DLC cybernetic suit makes you look like an actual cyborg. I think the Armoured Advanced suit, based on the white and red, is meant to resemble Sable's style.

So uh, the Arachnid Rider suit pays homage to a popular TV genre in Japan called Tokusatsu, specifically a show called Kamen Rider. The connection is that Supaidaman is Tokusatsu (and I think one of the devs is a big fan of Kamen Rider? Not sure on that one, though look up Kamen Rider suits and you can definitely see the inspiration).

The velocity suits eyes are more to do with the idea they are there to help peter when hes using the suits ability the comic literally has peter basically as the flash so probably his sight would over whelm him so hes reduced it
Tbh I actually like the design of the advanced suit. Let’s say they take the new textures and colors of the one from the sequel coming and put them onto this one, it’d be the best of both worlds (I do like some the new advanced suits changes to the design, like the arms being connected, the new white gauntlets, and the new spider shape as well as the spider staying in the red parts. But I don’t really like the spikes going out of the belt and the legs not having the red parts anymore. If they made the spikes like little nubs instead and brought back the red on the legs the new suit would be probably perfect tbh).
The default spider-man ps4 suit is like my favorite “default” spidey suit by far. Like the massive spider just looks cool and idk it makes him feel more mature. Like he’s far beyond transitioning into spider-man and is now fully into the dual lifestyle
Personally, I'm a fan of the Aaron Aikmen suit. The armored red pieces pair well with the dark navy blue. The gauntlets and jet boots are so detailed in their model, and the eight eyes on the helmet are just perfect. Also, if you look at the extra eyes, you can see cameras.

I came in fearful for my treasured Advanced Suit, so I'm relieved you turned out to like it well enough! I know the white is contentious for some, but I'm ultimately glad Insomniac went with something so bold and impressionable. It effectively completed Spidey's design for me, and I love how it vaguely communicates webbing. It isn't just a good design, it's creatively brilliant.
I thought the white was amazing, the contrast really brings it in. It’s almost like the old Batman outfits when the bat symbol was in a yellow oval, so that you can see it. I love how large it is too, that’s one of the reasons I love the Andrew Garfield outfits, they really have a great spider design and aren’t afraid to show it off and utilize it in the design
I agree. The white was a bold choice that I wasn't too huge on at first, but man the suit really grew on me. Definitely in my top 10 Spidey suits. Not sure it quite makes the top 5, but it's not far off.
Plus, America! Surprised nobody has thought to make his normal suit red white and blue before. I know he’s got the white eyes but the suit itself is always red blue and black. Outside of Cap, he’s Marvels biggest allegory for America, so the fact that the color scheme is so close but has never been fully realized is crazy.

The white spider on the advanced suit only works in the context that it's a game where somebody is operating Spider-Man, rather than actually being Spider-Man - In the game, it's mentioned that the spider is bullet proof and draws enemies attention to it so they're more likely to shoot at it - Which is a great idea.... If it's a yellow bat logo on a Batman suit. But Spider-Man has spider sense, a near-precognitive super power that allows him to know where bullets are going to travel and avoids them instinctively. It only works because as a player, you DON't instinctively dodge 100% of anything shot at you, you have to actively dodge, meaning you can get shot, so having a white spider... makes sense... BUT IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE. ...I have a headache.

I completely don’t mind the orange tone to the Advanced Suit, it’s my favourite Spidey suit so far, except for maybe the black and red Holland suit. The sequel does look like it’s made some pretty good upgrades though, so perhaps that will beat it out
To be honest as much as I never got into the armored advanced suit, I really think it works for city that never sleeps part 2 and 3 since the Crime Families are now using sables tech so Peter steps up and tries to match up to stop the war brewing between the maggia

I really don't mind it all that much to be honest, plus its not the first time we have had suits like this before. I mean just look at Miles, Miguel or the Symbiote suit. Like you said yourself, they are very top heavy suits but they still look super good regardless. I definitely agree with the colors tho. At first, I liked it but as time has gone on it just looks more and more off which is why I'm glad they seemingly changed it to an actual red with the Advanced Suit 2.0 (Although I hope it's not just a lighting thing and that the suit actually has that same shade of red as in the trailer). Overall tho I agree that while not all of them are perfect, Insomniacs original designs are still a cut above what we get these days in the comics or the movies. And I think they are slowly improving because most of the original suits they made for the Miles Morales game are actually really good (i.e. Bodega Cat Suit, Purple Reign suit, T.R.A.C.K. suit, etc.) with probably the only exceptions being the S.T.R.I.K.E. well the suit looks orange because this isnt traditional art and light has a big effect on color and when the sun hits red its often turns more orange if you look at the suits in different lighting itll appear more red most comic book artist dont think about this unless they are doing a REALLY detailed piece but a game with its own engine that can do it on the fly does
Honestly, the “anti-ock” suit would be cool if they made a version that’s colored in. Like keep the metallic and glowing parts, but paint it like the Advanced suit. Then again, there is already a decent chunk of metallic Spider-Man suits in the game it might just get overshadowed by those.

You know what small yet severely overlooked detail irks me on the advanced suit? Despite a total of three promotional emblems being made for the game (E3 2016, E3 2017, and 2018-current), the back emblem for the suit STILL uses the 2017 emblem and not the 2018 one you see on the inverted box art and up-to-date promotional material. To the untrained eye, this isn't that big of a deal (the emblems aren't THAT crazily different after all), but to my autistic ass? It pisses me off so much that the defining logo for the game isn't even technically on the suit lmao Luckily, this was fixed for the advanced 2.0 suit from what I can tell, so yay!

The Velocity suit is is in my top 3 for this game. I love the impression of a futuristic Spidey suit that dosen't do too much or too little like other suits. I even like the lenses thought why others may not like them.
i actually kinda like the orange i think it was a good choice because a vibrant red and white would have clashed way too much. its not a “pure” orange but more of reddish/scarlet orange. it mixes well with the white. and it still matches the blue the boots being gone are fine. usually the lack of boots makes spidey suits feel “naked” but here it works because of how busy the rest of the suit is. it creates an interesting juxtaposition with the busyness of the top half, and the more laid back design of the bottom half. it continues the design of “practical sportwear” they were going for as the feet remind me of sports shoes.
I'm pretty sure the lighting in the game is glitched and makes the red look more orange than insomniac intended, because in the trailer for the second game it was very red, same with on the box art

The default spider-man ps4 suit is like my favorite “default” spidey suit by far. Like the massive spider just looks cool and idk it makes him feel more mature. Like he’s far beyond transitioning into spider-man and is now fully into the dual lifestyle
Personally, I'm a fan of the Aaron Aikmen suit. The armored red pieces pair well with the dark navy blue. The gauntlets and jet boots are so detailed in their model, and the eight eyes on the helmet are just perfect.
Also, if you look at the extra eyes, you can see cameras.

I came in fearful for my treasured Advanced Suit, so I'm relieved you turned out to like it well enough! I know the white is contentious for some, but I'm ultimately glad Insomniac went with something so bold and impressionable. It effectively completed Spidey's design for me, and I love how it vaguely communicates webbing. It isn't just a good design, it's creatively brilliant.
I thought the white was amazing, the contrast really brings it in. It’s almost like the old Batman outfits when the bat symbol was in a yellow oval, so that you can see it. I love how large it is too, that’s one of the reasons I love the Andrew Garfield outfits, they really have a great spider design and aren’t afraid to show it off and utilize it in the design
I agree. The white was a bold choice that I wasn't too huge on at first, but man the suit really grew on me. Definitely in my top 10 Spidey suits. Not sure it quite makes the top 5, but it's not far off.
Plus, America! Surprised nobody has thought to make his normal suit red white and blue before. I know he’s got the white eyes but the suit itself is always red blue and black. Outside of Cap, he’s Marvels biggest allegory for America, so the fact that the color scheme is so close but has never been fully realized is crazy.

The white spider on the advanced suit only works in the context that it's a game where somebody is operating Spider-Man, rather than actually being Spider-Man - In the game, it's mentioned that the spider is bullet proof and draws enemies attention to it so they're more likely to shoot at it - Which is a great idea.... If it's a yellow bat logo on a Batman suit. But Spider-Man has spider sense, a near-precognitive super power that allows him to know where bullets are going to travel and avoids them instinctively.
It only works because as a player, you DON't instinctively dodge 100% of anything shot at you, you have to actively dodge, meaning you can get shot, so having a white spider... makes sense... BUT IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE.

That's because the game has an Orange Tint. Also, Colours shine different colours sometimes. Red shines Orange.
It's similar to how Black shines Blue under certain lighting.

I think it’s still red, but due to a certain lightning like the dress, it plays an optical illusion with our eyes to see another color.
To be honest as much as I never got into the armored advanced suit, I really think it works for city that never sleeps part 2 and 3 since the Crime Families are now using sables tech so Peter steps up and tries to match up to stop the war brewing between the maggia

People overexaggerate the "orange" to an annoying degree. I agree a darker red looks better, but this suit very clearly is not orange. You have to force your eyes to see orange to view it as orange
I think it would be cool if Marvel hosted the creation of a fan made spider-man game. They could have some fans be part of the actual production of the game, but also have a discord server so that less committed fans could still have input and provide ideas

Another certified banger video. Tbh I agree with you for the most part with all of this. I'd say the only thing I disagree with is the lesser amount of red on the Advanced suits legs. I really don't mind it all that much to be honest, plus its not the first time we have had suits like this before. I mean just look at Miles, Miguel or the Symbiote suit. Like you said yourself, they are very top heavy suits but they still look super good regardless. I definitely agree with the colors tho. At first, I liked it but as time has gone on it just looks more and more off which is why I'm glad they seemingly changed it to an actual red with the Advanced Suit 2.0 (Although I hope it's not just a lighting thing and that the suit actually has that same shade of red as in the trailer). Overall tho I agree that while not all of them are perfect, Insomniacs original designs are still a cut above what we get these days in the comics or the movies. And I think they are slowly improving because most of the original suits they made for the Miles Morales game are actually really good (i.e. Bodega Cat Suit, Purple Reign suit, T.R.A.C.K. suit, etc.) with probably the only exceptions being the S.T.R.I.K.E. Suit and the Advanced Tech suit just cause I think they are a little overdesigned.

well the suit looks orange because this isnt traditional art and light has a big effect on color and when the sun hits red its often turns more orange if you look at the suits in different lighting itll appear more red most comic book artist dont think about this unless they are doing a REALLY detailed piece but a game with its own engine that can do it on the fly does

You know what small yet severely overlooked detail irks me on the advanced suit? Despite a total of three promotional emblems being made for the game (E3 2016, E3 2017, and 2018-current), the back emblem for the suit STILL uses the 2017 emblem and not the 2018 one you see on the inverted box art and up-to-date promotional material. To the untrained eye, this isn't that big of a deal (the emblems aren't THAT crazily different after all), but to my autistic ass? It pisses me off so much that the defining logo for the game isn't even technically on the suit lmao

Fun fact about the Velocity Suit: There was actually a comic featuring it's origin called Spider-Man: Velocity. The eyes were drawn MUCH better imo, which puzzles me as to why they just look so... *off* in the game. Still one of my favorite suits, though. Plus the suit power is pretty cool too.

i actually kinda like the orange i think it was a good choice because a vibrant red and white would have clashed way too much. its not a “pure” orange but more of reddish/scarlet orange. it mixes well with the white. and it still matches the blue
the boots being gone are fine. usually the lack of boots makes spidey suits feel “naked” but here it works because of how busy the rest of the suit is. it creates an interesting juxtaposition with the busyness of the top half, and the more laid back design of the bottom half. it continues the design of “practical sportwear” they were going for as the feet remind me of sports shoes.
Velocity at night looks blue red and black. Its one of my favorite looks.
I found that if you take the ingame film grain to 0 and the ingame brightness to between 70 and 80, the oranges are a little more red

I'm pretty sure the lighting in the game is glitched and makes the red look more orange than insomniac intended, because in the trailer for the second game it was very red, same with on the box art
