The first part of our African adventure! Watch Dan and I get lost in the markets of Dakar, explain the concept of hitchhiking to African drivers and take a wild ride on a pickup truck among wild pigs and camels. We get to see wild beaches and chaotic cities of Mauritania. This is definitely the hardest trip I've done so far and I want to tell the story right. So it might be 2 or 3 parts. Because Africa deserves it.
In my mind Africa was always an exotic jungle filled with colours and music. A place where despite their problems people smile to each other and dance on the streets. Was I right?
    Yes. But also, I wasn't.
Africa is so much more than that. It's a huge continent with complicated politics and a full spectrum of issues. Where poverty and disadvantage stared me straight in the face. Where a single region speaks in 3 languages and each country proudly shows colonial battle scars. Where people work with whatever they have and instead of complaining, laugh with each other.
I learned so much from Africa. It was a fast-paced, intense, uncomfortable trip. But I can't wait to go back.
    Thank you, Africa.
