Norton was the greatest harmonica player that ever lived. I promoted numerous show of his and saw some moments that made time stand still. RIP brother.

It makes me sad I was very young when I discovered this fabulous duo, I wish now that I could have seen Norton Buffalo play on stage. May he rest in a beautiful, peaceful place

I was fortunate enough to see them at an outdoor show at a winery near Boise, ID where I was born and grew up. This was one of the songs they played that afternoon. A friend of mine and I also got to talk to both of them during a break in the show. Both were incredibly nice and talked for quite a few minutes before the second half of the show.

In VERY loving memory of Mr. Philip Charles Jackson (1951 - 2009 R.I.P. Gone but NOT forgotten).

Modern acoustic blues at it's best. As good as Norton was, his rhythm playing doesn't get enough credit. Creative and always in the groove of the song. If you've not heard his harmonica chugging part on "18 Wheels", take a listen. It's very cool.

Individually, these two gentlemen are great. Together, the were totally STUPENDOUS!! I had followed Norton's work since the 80s and this performance rekindles my regret that I will never see him live.

There is an album cut out in the ether of Roy Rogers and Buffalo playing Mercury blues in a club somewhere. It is one of the finest pieces of music I have ever heard.

Thanks for the heads up. Yeah, I could listen to these guys play all night. It is such a tragedy that Norton is gone. He was amazing.
Best double bill ever: Sonny Terry & Brownie Mcghee with Roy Rogers and Buffalo Norton, Of course it can't happen now. have a great weekend.

I was a friend of Norton in Sonoma. I was in MN visiting and heard he was playing at the old Bloomington Sports Arena. I said to my friend at his work, "You want to go see Steve Miller tonight?"
My friend looked at his watch and said, "Hey girls, It's 2 p.m. and Greg wants to know if We want to go to a sold out concert."
I called Norton on his cell and he took care of everything including a catered dinner with the band and an escort for our wheelchairs to great seat!

I think the CD you're talking about is Travellin Tracks by Rogers & Buffalo. If not that one, this track is available on that CD and Roy's "Live At The Sierra Nevada Brewery" disc. I got to see them perform this in Caldwell, ID in 2004 & met them both. Amazing players and great guys.

Terrible they need a lesson in how to work together. Guitar player is doing what he's going to do anyway no compensation and the guy on harp needs to lay off to make the guitar player understand. Don't play for the sake of it that is NOT music. If a big if they play pro and work sessions they should know. My guess is they are not session players and can only do what they do. Too late to educate then their past that.

Might want to crawl back under your rock, dude. These guys were pros together for decades, until "the guy on harp" died. The "guitar player" continues to tour on his own, and with people like Bonnie Raitt, if you've heard of her.
