Lin looks like the dad that said you could go out with your friends if he could go too.
Funny thing is, he actually IS a dad
Stopmotion Unicorn yeah it said on his wiki
Moses Out of water also on his Twitter? His wife Vanessa is expecting another baby! Sebastian will have a new sibling!
honestly
I was just about to put this.
I love how Lin is just kinda standing around like a dork for the other verses, and then he comes in and kicks ass
Andrew Nibbi I was thinking this exact same thing.
Exactly
Hes an amazing dork
Andrew Nibbi YES
Basically how Hamilton is in the musical
Edit: for 0.4 seconds
Lin dancing awkwardly in the background is my aesthetic
And that hat thooo
Lmao ikr. Those dad moves too 😂
JZBPanda Stella He's such a dad 😂
i can't belive Lin keept writing after he wrote Hamilton, why does he writes like he's running out of time?
@@idwhfeiofheqwiofhqeiofq Yup, he wrote his way out of hell.
We are all running out of time....
why does he write like hes running out of time like hes running out of time awwww how do write like tommorow on arive how do write like you needed to survive how do you write every second your live every second you aliveeeeeeeee
he picked up a pen and he wrote is own musical
He will never be satisfied
We all runnin outa time dude
I love how Lin Manuel Miranda looks so out of place with the rest of those rappers
I’m saying he looks out of place because he looks like a casual dad in the background of these serious guys and trying to look cool
But honestly, he doesn’t need to try and be cool. Because he is.
Right, and then his verse comes and all of a sudden he's awesome
He had defined a new sort of cool. That's what trendsetters are. As another song of his might say, "Let me say you're welcome."
Obnioxious _ Nas and Dave East aren't trying to be cool because they already are.
Lin isn't acting cool, he just is
Lin's been a hip hop kid as long as he's been a theater kid. He isn't trying he's just being who he is.
Lin's dad moves!
Aninha Silva I think Claire meant that Lin had kinda dad moves? Maybe
I meant he has dad moves. Hahaha
Haha
Is funny cause Lin is sitting there like "I don't know what to do"
Edit: How many likes! thanks so much.
Katy Queen thanks, I love Thomas Jefferson xd
Exactly like in Alexander Hamilton. He just says two line and the others sing for him. He's such a pro at those "don't really know what I'm doing" moves 😁😁
Is Jefferson treating you right Martha?
Moses Out of water hes prob off with sally
3:33 😂😂😂😂
All these people saying Lin is the old man when he's literally the second youngest of the 4 guys.
Fr?
Old Man is a state of mind 🤣😂
Lin looks like a dad supervising a school dance
Amy Louise well I mean nas is the oldest
Amy Louise wished he went to my school dance
I don’t think a rap legend like Nas needs supervising. I mean I wrote Illmatic when he was 17
Almost cried during the "I know abuela's never gonna win the lottery" part :'(
But that's the truth right
You cant win the lottery
@@celestialjunipers6829 its a reference to a previous musical lin wrote called "in the heights" (spoiler!) In in the character "Abuela" wins the lottery but dies before she could fulfil what she wanted with said money
What does that mean?
Christopher Ayettey it’s like a cruel reality. He knows that all he wants it’s for his abuela to win the lottery because they would have a better life like that but sadly, in his heart, he knows that she won’t. And that he’ll have to work to reach his goal.
Hamilton poisoned an entire generation.
The Suicidal Muffin I know right?!?
Honestly!
LIN IS A GOD
AGREED!
you are well on your way
"Poetry in motion, I'm a poet"
Oh, hello Phillip.
I didn't think about it in tis way but OMG, it's true xdd
My name is Poet
I am a Phillip
And I look like my your bf wtf dad
I was thinking that too haha
Dave East said that!!!!!!
Hello

*cough*daveeddiggs*cough*
Alexander Hamilton bruh
I will always love Nas, but Lin killed it in his verse on this track using his sample from the broadway show he wrote! Like a Boss!
Dave east is my fave on this one...
who wrote Lin's verse?
@@truthdetector4036 Lin wrote his own verse.
Dave East went the hardest on this. Nas had the weakest verse & he went hard
Lin-Manuel makes me feel like I can do anything. There’s just something about him!
He's very inspirational
i feel the same
I know. I feel the same!

Sorry not our fault that we don't know your personal life...
Eliza Schuyler Ham Ham I think they were referring to lin's grandmother
Christina Warren
Oh sorry I didn't understand who you were referring to but now that I know I'm sorry for your losses ;-;
LIN MADE THIS FOR MY GREAT GRANDMA!!! Abuela Edmunda Claudio. She practically raised Lin since he was a kid. Lin payed for her funeral and gave a great speech about my great grandma, even though it was a really sad emotional day, he made everyone including myself feel some kinda relieve talking about all the things she's done for him while he was growing up making us realize how remarkable my grandma was. Rest easy Abuela mundi we love and miss you so much. ❤️🙏🏼
PsychoPanda420 thank you to you & your family! Lin & Hamilton gave me hope. When there was none. Sorry to hear about your Grand Ma. She must of been extraordinary!
Your family is great ♥♥ Much love! Omg also hiii an immigrant hehe ♥♥ Thank you for inspiring a lost soul like Lin ♥
Victastic_420_ lin isnt an orphan right

SO INSPIRING as a broke Mexican immigrant going to an American college with the only hope of becoming a best seller author this made me cry 📚🇲🇽
Bless you and your dream!
LizElla If Hamilton can become a new man in New York, you can become a new person in America.
LizElla write your way out homie
I want to be an author, artist, poet and make a change in the world and inspire others the same way Lin inspires me. I'm also Mexican and come from a poor family. Hope you achieve your dreams😊
Bless you.
Don’t ever stop trying.
I just keep looking at Lin dancing in the background during most of the video lol

Not only did I hear Hamilton but IN THE HEIGHTS? "I know abuela will win the lottery" PLZ TELL ME I WASN'T THE ONLY ONE. also this is so amazing!!!!

I caught that too. I love it
it actually said "i know abuela wont win the lottery" and i caught it too 😭
holy sh*t i saw that too "I know abuela's never gonna win the lottery'" I almost started crying like holy crap.
@@christopherayettey4390(edit: for anyone who hasn't seen ITH yet this is kinda a spoiler) In the musical In The Heights(about a Latin group in Washington Heights who are fighting to survive and save the barrio) Abuela Claudia(not really the MC's grandma shes just amazing) wins the lottery for 96,000 dollars and it changes a lot of their lives for the better. It's an uplifting moment (until the plot twist) but here Lin says she'll never win because this is the reality people face and it's not fiction like in the worlds he creates.
The In the heights reference im crying

I NOTICED THAT TOO
Rip Abuela Claudia
Huhuhu ;-;
It's not a heights reference... His actual Abuela Mundi died recently... :(

So. Much. Brilliance. In. One. Song.
If you saw both "In the Heights" and "Hamilton", you know how Lin's writing has progressed to sheer brilliance. But then seeing all the Mixtape vids and hearing the songs? Holy wow. My mother (retired teacher of English, DC Public Schools, 30 years) was just blown away seeing Hamilton. She was the one that bought me the Mixtape. Yes, my 83 year old mother did that.
I honestly love this on all levels, and I can't begin to understand the thought process of how this was altered from the Mixtape
Also, Lin's hat is officially on my wishlist

I am a grown ass man. And I am sitting here geeked listening to Lin-Manuel Miranda's verse with the screw face on at 35 years-old. Everyone on this song did what I expected them to do. But Lin-Manuel? I mean, the homie stood toe to toe with these lyrical monsters. He definitely channeled some Big Pun with the polysyllabic flow. SALUTE, my brotha.

I wrote my way out
When the world turned its back on me

i feel like it's so fitting that we're using the legacy of the founding fathers to preach racial equaltiy
They started the nation down the path to equality when they said "all men are created equal." It's up to us to see it through, even beyond what they foresaw
@@DownWithBureaucracy
One of my biggest wonders is if the founding fathers who carried out a Revolution, established a nation, wrote a constitution and declared that all men were created equal,
I can't help but wonder if they'd see all the progress this nation has made from those words, would they be Progressive too? As the Schuyler sisters said, "We are so lucky to be alive rn", I can't help but disagree. I just think we are LUCKIER. I like to believe that the founding fathers would side with us (Progressives).
@@schnitzelberry depends on what you call progressive. The founding fathers were quite the mix of personal and political beliefs. Hamilton would be classically liberal (not the modern far left but certainly favored more government intervention than his peers) while Ben Franklin was conservative (not the modern right, but believed in minimal government which is what conservative is supposed to mean). That's part of why they added checks and balances as well as an ammendment process. They were not unified in their beliefs, but they all believed we could do better.
@@DownWithBureaucracy
True.
What about socially?
@@schnitzelberry to clarify, are you asking if I think they would agree with progressive goals even if they differed on methods? Because while it sounds like a cop-out, I'm going to stick with "it depends on your definition of progressive." I doubt they'd understand many movements as they'd have little context to understand transgender movements and sexual identity. I think they would err on the side of individual freedom though. They might not throw support behind movements they don't understand, but I think they'd agree that excessive taxing and police brutality are wrong in all contexts (those are 2 of the primary reasons they fought the British after all)
The world needed this right now. 💗
This song has gotten me through so many rough times. Stay strong, stay smart, stay alive everyone

Nas and Dave east collaborated wisely with Lin on this. Dave east is definitely who I rock too these days and Nas is one of my top 5 but danm Lin Manuel got 'BARS'!😮🔥

The people who disliked dis where actually
*DIS-I-LIKE*
Or maybe the song reminded them of bad times and they got upset and disliked. But hopefully they'll come back and realise that times are going to be hard they just have to stay strong enough to get through it.
Linman that verse was fire.
I like how you weaved your way in and out of those verses.
Ok Mr. Mushroom
Dave East and Nas messing with Hamilton??? Shit, I guess I can dig it?
Keven sum Nas is in the PBS documentary about Hamilton. Lin tells him he listened to tons of Nas when writing Hamilton.

This song slaps hard asf especially when playing 2k
Fact
I tought that I am the only one who enjoyed in this song while playing my league in 2k18.
All my teachers at my school talk about Lin-Manuel Miranda because I go to the same high school as him; and they all talk about how he had such strong leadership when he was a student. I really respect him
Nas continues to display his timeless flow. Loved East aggressive style, and how Nas falls back to allow the future to shine. And Lin's wordplay was spot on. Keep this trending upwards ya'll!!!! 💪 💪 💪 👑👑👑
Lin is not an intimidating rapper. When I see him in the background I cant help but laugh
.....it... It was a joke... I like lin's music... His play was amazing... Hid voice is nice.... Why do y'all get defensive so fast? Its the same thing with the markiplier fandom and the Jacksepticeye fandom and the jake Paul fandom. You're so quick to anger you dont even realise a dumb joke... Right
He doesn't have to be
*DragonInaGasMask* why does every rapper need to be intimidating?
Yeah i know... we rather be intimidated than educated 🤦🏽♂️
Huh?
Even the rappers that look intimidating are not really that intimidating if you ever got to know them... its all just an act trust me.
2:36 this song just got LIT 🔥🔥

Trending at (#10) now. Hip Hop and conscious thought lives on. Thank you guys for this great work of artistic expression.
That moment when a legend like Nas and a star like Dave East featured on the track but Lin-Manuel spat more bars than either of them
