hi how ya doin friends?! 😄 for a cool unrelated obsidian hack check out this short from earlier today! th-cam.com/users/shortsUtZ7Mt-PEtk?feature=share 😋
You can find the portal real easy if you can find the starter staircase. To find that you just go through every backwards faceing door and eventually you be there. The portal room is no more than six rooms from the starter staircase.
Always take an allay along when using the Eye of Ender during the Stronghold search. The little guy will quickly find where it lands if it didn't evaporate.
For the sake of convenience, I would always recommend that you bring 10 Obsidian and a Flint and Steel when looking for Strongholds. This allows you to set up your Nether Portal on the first trip, and then you can return through the Nether by building another portal and you never have to manually run through the Overworld to get back.
More speedrunner's tips: 1. When finding the stronghold, you can turn on hitboxes to easily find the eyes especially in the ocean. 2. The starter generation of the stronghold is called the starter staircase - a staircase which doesn't lead anywhere. The portal room is oftenly 5-7 rooms from the starter staircase. 3. If you dug down into a different room or got lost, you can follow the doors that were placed on the opposite side to get to the starter staircase. 4. There's a total of 4 alter chests in each strongholds. 5. In a 5 way room (the cross room as you called it), if you find flat walls that are made of stone bricks, you should always check if it's a hidden room. Thats about everything, proud of you for learning about the 4 4 trick!
Nice episode Waty Wat, hope that you are well. You asked for tips. Inventory should contain on top of your usual tools, weapons, food, torches, boat and blocks. -Stacks (2-3) of cobblestone and logs, not oak as it's used in generation builds. Birch or acacia stand out as player placed. -Ender chest. I usually take the obsidian and pearls on the first blaze hunt to make a couple immediately. The extra inventory is GAME CHANGING! -Torches, extra stack or coal to craft them. -Ender pearls, I agree with the 16 eyes min, but extra pearls help heaps in quick exits and exploration. Plus a couple of blaze rods, just in case. -Obsidian + flint and steel for a portal to shorten travel to and from the end portal. Exploration -Always mark your path. -Torches, place on the top layer, they generate at the 2nd and can be washed away on the floor. -I place them on the left, so I know which is the right way out. -Always follow the left wall and block off other passage entries until you come back to them, stops mobs coming behind you. You'll eventually return to the start. This will give you the perimeter. -Then explore internal passages in the same manner, backtracking when you reach an area already covered. Go down any (left) passages you come across. These should have been on the right going in and are blocked off. Rinse and repeat. -Traverse the perimeter again to verify that all the blocked passages on the right have been explored. -Not sure if this is still true, the end portal room will always be generated within 5 doors of the entry. This is/was a speedrunners tip, might have heard it from the Hermit Cubfan or possibly Dream. Silverfish I'm sure that blocks with silverfish take longer to break, you said quicker??? If you use a lava bucket on them it's not recognised as a player attack, this means that reinforcements will not be summoned/spawned. Have a great week and keep up the great content
Stronghold searching tip: each room further you travel from the entrance staircase has a lower and lower chance of being the portal room, so unless you want to 100% search the stronghold, you should stick pretty close to the stairs.
Wattles: Should I fight the dragon at episode 25 or 30? Community: Do how you feel like. Wattles: Let's do episode 20. 😂 Incredible episode as always!👍
Pretty cool finding a spawner within. I went and found the stronghold for my world today, had two libraries and the deep dark consumed a good amount of the stronghold. Never have seen that before.
One stronghold tip, block off all dead ends and or mark them with signs if anything important should be down the hall. It lets you easily identify where you need to go should you return in the future.
If you have two established villages that close to a Swamp Biome (especially with a waterway in between them); then I think you should definitely build and create a SWAMP VILLAGE from the ground up. Not only would it be an amazingly creative build project, but you would also be able to take advantage of those new sweet sweet biome-locked villager trades :)
Stronghold Tip: Sometimes some rooms are not connected to the "main" part of the stronghold and to find them I suggest that you mine inwards in any stone brick wall in any 5 way room (the crossroad room). There is a way to determin if there are "secret" rooms but its better to just check every time.
not a stronghold but an end tip, but bringing snowballs and eggs to fight the ender dragon is very useful bc they can break the end crystals and could save arrows if u don’t have infinity on ur bow. great episode as always tho✌️
Hey wattles I’ve been watching for years but I believe I’m growing into adulthood and growing out of TH-cam It’s not you it’s my You are my favorite TH-camr and have been for a long time I consider you a great friend Please keep being you no matter how tough it gets I will be back occasionally just for your personality You’ve helped me grow into the man i am today Thank you I love you -your biggest fan Holden Gerard Nadeau
I never do that chunk line up trick, I didn't even know it was a thing. Eventhough I am not new to Minecraft, I'm still learning, so thank you Wattles!!
My recommendation for Strongholds is to diligently use torches to mark out your navigation when you first go. Given that you are looking for 1 Portal Room, 2 Libraries, and any other number of other chests, you may actually want to spend a lot of time searching the structure. Additionally, I find myself returning multiple times so the torch marking helps a lot. My method is that I regularly use torches on the floor to light my way, and mark where I have been already. In junctions between multiple paths I will leave a torch to show that I went a certain direction, but I will always leave two torches on the path that returns to the starting point. This allows me to find my way back regardless of how turned around I get. Additionally, I have used triple torches to mark the way to the Portal Room sometimes. I have had multiple Strongholds that collided with Mineshafts in spectacular fashion, and if you find yourself in that situation, the navigation marking may be frivolous. It can get insanely chaotic to have those two structures combined.
Do be sure to have your Silk Touch handy while renovating that Stronghold. Infested stone blocks can be mined without Silverfish incursions. Spawners within the structure itself is always a great find. Lucky ducky. P.s. You can double tap W to swim faster while pressing Space bar to ascend the water much more quickly, especially in un-bubbled water pits. Keep up the good work, Wattles!
When I'm exploring a stronghold, I only place torches on the wall if it's pointing the direction I came from, especially at intersections. The rest are always on the floor. Any naturally spawning torches get knocked down. That way, if I exhaust a path, I can find my way back. Alternatively, Jack-o-lanterns are also a great way to point your way back to where you were. Breaking doors is a good idea, if you see a door down a path, you know you haven't been there. Finally, some sort of marker block, something that doesn't spawn in the stronghold to mark a path you've taken is good. Wood or other crafted blocks are good.
Stronghold tip: hug the left (or right) wall of the stronghold. If you keep doing that, you can easily explore the entire stronghold. If you want to backtrack, just hug the same wall and turn around (this will become the right wall if you started out on the left)
A good trail to the end is plopping netherack in the overworld. I like lighting them, they burn down all trees and can easily be seen far away. the netherack can be pointing to the End stronghold, and some is behind the lit one to show where you came from.
Definitely dig around - after failing to find a portal in my first Stronghold (even after digging at deadends) the 2nd Stronghold wasnt much better. Finally found the portal and a library after clearing a load of blocks out of the way.
dang ima miss your little starter base 3:c the brewing build is one of the best starter builds iv ever seen from you :) !! the blue just hits right, and the dome is so epic. the water weal helps tie the dome in with the round shape
Whenever I find a fortress what I usually do is when I find a dead end block it off completely. Basically adding to the walls. Then I block off the dead ends I make through booking off other dead ends and that eventually leads me to the portal. I also loot ever chest and library I come across.
My tip for finding strongholds is to throw an Eye of Ender (don't forget to collect it if it didn't break) and then move 20 or so blocks away to a new location and throw another. You want to find the point at which they meet. if they both seem to go the same direction its gonna be a very long distance, If they Both swerve at each other close to you the stronghold is gonna be closer. you can recheck every few hundred blocks if you want to, depending on how far you think it is.
My 1.20 stronghold is below a village next to a cherry biome. It also has a skelly spawner. There is a zombie spawner and a pillager outpost within 300 blocks. Currently building an epic wizard tower base with a phantom trap at the top and a secret door in a bookcase with stairs to the end portal, I put a nether portal in one of the empty "rooms" in the fortress. Gonna be sweet!
I've seen plenty of stronghold-mineshaft collisions, but a stronghold cutting through a monster room is a rare find. You should absolutely set up a farm there!
Stronghold tip: When using ender eyes it is most efficient to travel 500 blocks in the direction of each ender eye because of the ring pattern stronghold generate in. Also bring an allay if you can so it can collect the eye if you can't find where it fell.
I like the new villager trading mechanics. I think it's more fun to go exploring to find a specific biome rather than spending hours trying to get a specific book.
I have the habit of always make some building in my first stronghold (usually a big library around the portal), so I'm totally in for a stronghold base!
Stronghold tip: break chests you have looted, so you know where you have been! If you're inventory is full, place a chest at the entrance with all of the loot!
Speaking of cobwebs, I think Pixel did mention it this season, You can use cobwebs to obtain suspicious gravel and sand. Unfortunately suspicious block obtained this way don't contain any items
Just want to add a bit more on the 4, 4 trick to find the stronghold entrance, I'd recommend not to dig straight down on 4, 4 but instead dig down one of the adjacent blocks or stand in the middle of two blocks to dig down, so that in case the entrance is possibly broken due to a ravine you don't fall down and die.
The 3 main tips for stronholds world be to bring what you need to build and light a nether porthole and anything you need for the trip home through the nether. I would normally set the porhole up near the stronghold porgole to make life easy as well as setting up a farward operating base. Eventually it will have stocks of anything you might need to defeat the Dragon as well as spare gear and armour for when I die due to looking at an enderman buy mistake..... to date the dragon has never killed me even though I die 3 or 4 times during the fight..... as I sead, endetman!!!! 😢😢😢 No. 2 would be the enderchest Wattles acsidentally left at home. Number 3 is a reminder on how not to get lost in caves, always put your torches on the same wall..... it doesn't matter which unless you play with friends, in which case work out betwen you which wall in the one you'll all use. Personally I like the left because when I'm leaving I know I'll be all right if the torches are all on the right. You might be thinking what the heck does this have to do with a sfronghold?!?!?" Well, the same trick works in a stronghold! Bonus tip.... break the doors and fill in the hole when you're finished in an area, just don't use any blocks from tbe stronghold😊
Best tip for the Stronghold? Have lots of food on hand for all the mobs you may encounter. Obsidian is a good idea to make a portal at the End Portal, but the lava in the room will likely serve as well.
I once stumbled on a strong hold accidently while caving. That was a fun day :) Question - is it possible to go to The End on Peaceful mode? If so - that might be a fun challenge type episode - cause I know you gotta do a A LOT of exploring to make up for not having hostile mobs.
It's meant to be impossible to get to the End on peaceful. I think they don't want people to "beat the game" on peaceful difficulty, so no End. This is done by requiring eyes of ender to light the portal to the End. Since blaze powder is needed to craft the eyes, and you cannot get blaze powder by any means other than killing blazes, this means that the End is theoretically impossible without hostile mobs. Theoretically. Because the portal to the End can spawn with some eyes already in it, it is possible to find a portal with the full twelve eyes already filled in, making it possible to beat the End even on peaceful mode (the dragon still spawns, since you're not meant to be there anyways). However, this does require a specific seed, to get the twelve eyed portal. If you've already started a world, it's highly unlikely that you can reach the End entirely on peaceful mode. (If you decide to use one of the special seeds that have been found, you might want to use an external tool to help you find the stronghold, since you won't be able to use eyes of ender to find it) TL;DR Theoretically impossible to get to the End in peaceful, but people found a way to do it anyways.
I have never tried this but irl if you want to get out of a maze just pick a side(right/left), put your hand on that wall and follow it. It probably works for the stronghold to loot every room.
Wait a minute! He just found a 4 vein of emeralds. Thats pretty rare dude you should make like a crane around it kinda like it is taking it out of the ground. I think it would look so cool!
What a great stronghold and thanks for the tips! I plan to tackle the dragon for the first time in my world. Not sure when but I want to do it. Even a zombie villager and a zombie in jail too. What luck!
I think you should turn on the hitbox when trying to find the eye of ender when it falls. It is easier to find it since there will be a white box floating on your screen.
U should definitely make the stronghold the forever base. It'd make a great mansion and the dead end corridors could make great rooms for auto farms. Would definitely be unique and cool.
If you struggle with getting lost and don't care about cosmetics, the arrows on glazed terracotta can be extremely helpful when mapping out a stronghold.
Please do a base there, you have the portal and a skeleton spawner close to an ocean monument, and the land that is close is nice too. There's so many creative things you could do!
Hi Wattles...you might not know this but after you started your series I started my own world and the funny thing is that I am at the same point(stronghold) just like you!!! And also the music in your videos is just perfect 👌
Bring a potion of Feather Falling or two in case the stronghold is on the edge of a ravine. The stronghold in my survival world generated between the walls of a giant underground ravine. After I dug down to the top, I used the potion to float down.
Making a map as you search for the Stronghold will help you not loose the location as well. And you can even leave a banner to help you remember by using the map on it.
Strongholds have a tendency to generate underneath villages so if there is a village near where the eye is leading you then you could throw another eye and make your searching a lot easier
i definitely think you should set up some sort of outpost/base at the stronghold! i mean how many times are you gonna find a skeleton spawner at a stronghold?
Once you get a good sense of direction, keep running until you get to a village before trying again. The village has a good chance of being your location for a stronghold. At least in bedrock.

Question - is it possible to go to The End on Peaceful mode? If so - that might be a fun challenge type episode - cause I know you gotta do a A LOT of exploring to make up for not having hostile mobs.
I think Ilmango has a peaceful mode series. They had to use a seed where an end portal spawns with all twelve eyes

What a great stronghold and thanks for the tips! I plan to tackle the dragon for the first time in my world. Not sure when but I want to do it. Even a zombie villager and a zombie in jail too. What luck!
this has to be the best one ive ever found tbh
You are the credits guy
YES for the Stronghold base!
A great looting trick I use in bastions is to use a hopper on the chests so the piglins don’t get angry at you for stealing there treasures
I think you should turn on the hitbox when trying to find the eye of ender when it falls. It is easier to find it since there will be a white box floating on your screen.
Use geometry to find strongholds!! Throwing an eye of ender in two different spots will create an angle leading to the stronghold
U should definitely make the stronghold the forever base. It'd make a great mansion and the dead end corridors could make great rooms for auto farms. Would definitely be unique and cool.
A good way to check for a silver fish block, you can break them easily with a sword
If you struggle with getting lost and don't care about cosmetics, the arrows on glazed terracotta can be extremely helpful when mapping out a stronghold.
those blocks always annoyed me. I never thought to use them for mapping... Now I know what to do with all that clay I have. Thanks!
Yesss another guid video 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Please do a base there, you have the portal and a skeleton spawner close to an ocean monument, and the land that is close is nice too. There's so many creative things you could do!
Hi Wattles...you might not know this but after you started your series I started my own world and the funny thing is that I am at the same point(stronghold) just like you!!! And also the music in your videos is just perfect 👌
Bring a potion of Feather Falling or two in case the stronghold is on the edge of a ravine. The stronghold in my survival world generated between the walls of a giant underground ravine. After I dug down to the top, I used the potion to float down.
F3+A to reload chunk so u can see the silverfish spawner particles that's near the portal.
Making a map as you search for the Stronghold will help you not loose the location as well. And you can even leave a banner to help you remember by using the map on it.
Strongholds have a tendency to generate underneath villages so if there is a village near where the eye is leading you then you could throw another eye and make your searching a lot easier
That's the case on bedrock
Look at the things on the side lush caves trail dunes and SCULK 13:28 13:28 13:28 13:28 13:28
Actually worked thank you
Like how ya breaking down those iron doors. I was always fumbling with the button😂
23:08 BRO I was wearing headphones and I got so scared 😂
love the vids is there like a time or day that you will be posting to the gide
2pm eastern usually! the days vary
I think a guide series on bedrock someday would be really nice
i definitely think you should set up some sort of outpost/base at the stronghold! i mean how many times are you gonna find a skeleton spawner at a stronghold?
Can’t wait for the next episode
Once you get a good sense of direction, keep running until you get to a village before trying again. The village has a good chance of being your location for a stronghold. At least in bedrock.
You could make a Stronghold base + a sea temple base, right next to each other! Lucky generation
Wattles can't make it an episode without his spyglass XD
Great Video! Thank you :)
A spawner at the stronghold? And 2 librairies? dear God your luck is insane! Definitely make an outpost there.
Also Zombie villagers
Definitely a stronghold outpost!!
im wearing a headset while walking and that banging noise scared the shit out of me
Please do a stronghold base, I really wanna see what you can come up with :)
You can do the boat trick on bedrock. I tried it, and it works, it's just tricky keeping it there
Stronghold base, let's go.
There should be a way to count cracks in order to get to the portal fast.
Any chance you can talk about it in the next video?
love the videos, and the series that you do. but I have one question, why is your skin still have the mask on? I thought we were past that.
i smashed the like button so hard that i broke my mouse, thanks uncle wattles
a tip for strongholds is to make sure that u make a nether portal so it is easier and quicker to get to the stronghold
Stronghold tip: Dont dig straight down👍
to loot or find the portal room I block off any path that I’ve searched completely
Stronghold looting tip: walk around the structure and look into the chests in order to find good loot👍
A great tip for dealing with silverfish in the stronghold is to burn them. This will kill them without causing the rest to swarm
Its funny this show up the morning after i stayed up super late looking forna stronghold.😂
god i had not hurd a zombie breaking a door in a long time that scared the crap out of me omg
My number one stronghold finding tip is chunkbase
