This video helped me a lot, thank you. I did however encounter two issues (to which I managed to resolve thanks to a few Google searches): 1) Wi-Fi did not automatically kick in because somehow Boot Camp installation did not activate the Wi-Fi Mac drivers, and as a consequence the installation was slow and clunky because Windows kept looking for the internet, and I did not have a cable to connect via ethernet. The drivers are available after the installation, and can be activated, the issue is how and when to get there (in my case it was about 9 hours of waiting); and 2) This video at 3:37 does not explain how to get to the install files for Boot Camp on Windows - the installer did not pop up automatically for me, so I needed to do a manual install. As a Mac guy who hasn't used Windows in decades, finding drivers and install files in Windows is a nightmare. But, again, nothing a Google search can't resolve. Thanks again.
@@BreannLaFaye I hope it worked out for you. My experience was not a good one, at the end of the day Windows 10 via BootCamp was unbearably slow despite my iMac being relatively new (2019), with an i5 Intel processor and maxed out RAM, so Boot Camp has been permanently booted off my Mac.

UNTIL… When I did this all and got a usb drive, I was told that there was no bootable disc. If so you are not using a disc that can run the necessary partition table. I found that if you turn off the computer and hold Alt/Option until the bootable system menu appears, then you can select EFI BOOT and continue** I found that my usb drive was running a system that windows could not use to install WINDOWS 10. Windows needs a GPT DISK to install WINDOWS 10, not the MBR partition table I was using. Not sure why that's happening to be honest. Honestly, I’ve been going at this for over 3 days now and I’m almost ready to give up. I don't understand why it's THIS hard to install Windows 10 on an older Mac. It almost feels not worth it to be honest. Anyways, if there’s anything you can do to help, I would greatly appreciate it. Been there, done that years ago… Window’s on my specked out 2015 Mac laptop absolutely sucks. The fans go crazy and I can’t stand using it on my Mac laptop which otherwise runs very quiet when running macOS. If you need both systems, you’re almost better off getting a cheap Windows laptop in addition to your Mac laptop or desktop. I also feel like Windows runs slow and is laggy on a Mac. My Mac laptop has a 1 TB hard drive, so I split it pretty much down the middle and it still sucks running Windows.
Eh, I'm using it currently on my 2019 16" MacBook Pro and there's really no lag. Though I do agree the fans ramp up when on Windows. However, I never really care about that because I have headphones on while playing a game or talking to someone anyway (also that happens on macOS as well when doing similar tasks, and I much rather have a cool computer than a hot computer) lol. My opinion is I rather not have an additional laptop, but again, my opinion. Doing whatever works for your workflow should be the goal.
Yeah I had the exact same experience. Ended up just buying a windows laptop. The fans would run at full speed all the time and the battery life was an hour at max.
I had no thermal issues when running Windows on my MB Air as a Fusion vm - and Fusion is far cheaper than buying a second laptop. Fusion also lets you have Windows running in, well, a window, without having to log out of the Mac OS. You can even drag and drop between Mac and PC folders. (Sadly, we still don't have Fusion for the M1 Macs, or even a release date from VMware.)

I did a first aid sweep and it said that nothing was wrong and tried again it still did not work. I would love if anyone would know why this is happening and if there is a way to fix it.
My brother hi , i followed the all instruction till to windows installation , now i have black screen and its loading more for 2 hours and you said it will take 10min , what do you think i should do now ? Should i turn the laptop off then turn in on ?
He said you could skip entering a Product Key for Windows, what happens with that? Do you have to buy windows and enter it later? Or are you good to go?
Running an OS on bare metal is very different than a virtual machine. Also running Windows for ARM on anything other than Windows 10/11 violates the EULA and terms of use.
Well you don't buy a Mac because you need windows . You buy a Mac for what it is. Beein able to switch back and forth is much better than having to complete boot the system separately 🤔. If you think otherwise Mac might not be the right solution for you. I don't say that just because I am an apple homie . But I sold thousands of mac's. Windows is like a swiss knife, you can do a lot but nothing works great . 90 % of my clients figure out after talking to me that they don't even need windows as most of the software they mention does run on Mac os by now. Or there is good alternatives.
Gents, long story short: to install windows on your mac os without DVD mindfucking : 0. Make sure you have enough space available on your HDD. 1. Download official Windows iso image and leave it on Desktop 2. The most important: get your USB stick and FORMAT IT on your mac as APFS. 3. Launch the boot camp and follow the instructions. P.S. Most people fail because they use their USB stick with NTFS or EXFAT file system.
My kind of guy. No frills & thrills. Just straight to the point. Great (and clear) set of instructions!

Well that was going well until I pressed continue in boot camp assistant. Do I need a USB hardrive?
I'm having the same issue. It says it needs a USB or external drive with the 64-bit iso file on it
Amazing tutorial, helped us so much. Very clear and very accurate narrative!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!! could not find the ISO file anywhere this vid saved me!!
For your next video "How to Install OS/X on a PC"... :)
Well, with Ideneb is possible😉
It is possible, just how much percentage of you life you want to spent on that
@@Lesesmo like 0,00001 or less. There is a thing called Virtual Machine where you run mac os or any operating system you want in windows.
It is possible
@@seanvandermerwe3409 Indeed, if it wasn't possible I wouldn't have asked for a video on the topic :)
Can u make a video to install CentOS
Top video.. straight to the point. Love it!
well I need help: while I was doing this I got to the part with bootcamp assistance and it kept saying that my disk could not be partitioned. I did a first aid sweep and it said that nothing was wrong and tried again it still did not work. I would love if anyone would know why this is happening and if there is a way to fix it.
This tutorial was super helpful and easy to follow. Much appreciated, Thank You🙂👍🏻
My brother hi , i followed the all instruction till to windows installation , now i have black screen and its loading more for 2 hours and you said it will take 10min , what do you think i should do now ? Should i turn the laptop off then turn in on ?
great tutorial; perfect timing
He said you could skip entering a Product Key for Windows, what happens with that? Do you have to buy windows and enter it later? Or are you good to go?
I found this useful. Sure, there are other videos on this or other ways, but this came at the right time is exactly what I wanted, so thank you!
when i go to bootcamp i click continue and then it says startup disk not found and also two options one for window 7 and 8 not the same screen as you
What's up with the "ancient" tutorial CNET? Dang, and here I thought finally I'll be able to install it on my M1 MacBook.. 😒
You can, with parallels
@@samuel.portscheller waste of money to deal with parallels
Running an OS on bare metal is very different than a virtual machine. Also running Windows for ARM on anything other than Windows 10/11 violates the EULA and terms of use.
@@samuel.portscheller It’s horrible
Well you don't buy a Mac because you need windows . You buy a Mac for what it is. Beein able to switch back and forth is much better than having to complete boot the system separately 🤔. If you think otherwise Mac might not be the right solution for you. I don't say that just because I am an apple homie . But I sold thousands of mac's. Windows is like a swiss knife, you can do a lot but nothing works great . 90 % of my clients figure out after talking to me that they don't even need windows as most of the software they mention does run on Mac os by now. Or there is good alternatives.
Is it possible to open Disk Management on windows and format Apple's partition??
Thanks man! I really wanted windows on my 🖥 and diden’t know how to install it….until i clicked on this video! Soo thanks 🙏🏼 your the BEST!😄
simple and straight to the point, thanks so much for this tutorial
Gents, long story short: to install windows on your mac os without DVD mindfucking : 0. Make sure you have enough space available on your HDD. 1. Download official Windows iso image and leave it on Desktop 2. The most important: get your USB stick and FORMAT IT on your mac as APFS. 3. Launch the boot camp and follow the instructions. P.S. Most people fail because they use their USB stick with NTFS or EXFAT file system.
hey how do i format my usb stick as apfs?
@@cemeow use mac os built in disk partition app
My other half just bought her a Mac Laptop, and she wants to play on Xbox Xcloud, so need Windows 11. This worked like a dream, thanks! :)
We don't have to purchase anything for installing windows right?
Ah ok an “INTEL” Mac not the current and newest m1 Mac. Everyone knows how to use windows on intel mac...
I'm using Macbook pro 2019 with Sonoma update and it won't let me install the ISO file from Microsoft, can somebody please help?
-I thought this video was for the M1 Macs.-
*_Done this in the past. Disposed my Apple and sticking with full Microsoft Windows now._*
