An interesting Video Topic would be the actual Effectiveness of HARMs in DCS. I myself have been having issues with me actually using the weapon correctly, but still having it loose Track, eventhough I succesfully attract the Radars attention in the whole process. My experience so far with trials in SP are a almost 50% fail-rate of HARM's. And the SA-11 Launchers never seem to die with the first HARM (even if it hits). But maybe its just me not actually nowing HOW to behave to succesfully employ the missile. Would also be interesting to have a Vid which describes how to best attack, attract, and kill various, specific Radar Types. ;) But anyways, great content, thanks a million and keep it up!
HAS - the default mode - doesn't give you any range information so you have to make sure you are high enough, fast enough, and close enough to the emitter you're targeting for the HARM to have a chance to glide to the target and hit it. Also, HARMs can be shot down by certain launchers including SA-15 and SA-10, so it may be worth firing two at the more modern emitters.
What if you take part in a mission and the SAM site types are unknown to you? Do you have to just load in the tables to cover all and every eventuality? I have to admit my success rate on harm launches is in a very low percent, they always seem to get shot down before reaching their target :(
doing popup attacks seem to help alot get really close to them without being shot at preferably and then 25 degree climb with an agm-88c launch from my experience this seems to help a lot especially with sites that are defended by stuff like tor sam sites that can shoot down missiles
Well, this explains why most wild weasel missions are done by dual manned aircraft. Imagine the workload in a combat situation doing this all by yourself!
Do you know why Right search is visualized on the Left side of the MFD and Left search on the Right side? Also why are the designations in the green vice versa to what is seen on the MFD? Thank you
Sometimes after watching these videos and trying it out in the Game I think to my self. If I only spent so much time doing my certifiactes at my job to get a better salary :)

Hey, I got a problem with the HARM mode and hope you can help me: I have activate Air-Ground, selcted the Rocket. Go to Weapon and see the table and so... BUT: My Timer has an amount of 0:49 in Wide and just count down to 0:45. After this, it start again at 0:49 and it count one "scandone" up. Do you have an idea?
@@ryanw5584 I checked it. Simply reason: There is no radar signature. Or maybe non you choose in the table. If one target appears, which match the search table, the timer continues.
@@SMGGabriel ok cool I was doing a fast mission with only SA-13 and it must not have been scanning bc it would never pop up on radar until I was right on top of it. So maybe I was using wrong type of Sam to train with
this is a rlly great and thorough video but mine just repeats itself every three seconds when it says 90 and doesnt scan enough. Anyone know how to solve this?
Doesent this seem a bit limited the way to employ the agm88 seems more intuitive in the hornet but that being said it is still early in the f16s development
So if you want to piss off the super realism guys that have been crying all over the forum for days, load up 2 HARM's on stations 4 and 6, and 6 Mavericks on stations 3 and 7 and go to town 🤣
You can’t put either of those on 4 and 6, only on 3 and 7. There are multiple reasons why the inner most pylons can’t carry missiles. 1st the pylons are not wired for these weapons. And 2nd the exhaust from the missiles would damage the tail wings. The tips of the stabs already get scorched by Mavericks on 3 and 7 when launching from the inboard rail of a triple rack and that was when they still used triple mavs in the F-16A which had shorter stabs than the later models
Danny D no you can’t stations 4 and 6 on the F-16C don’t even have the option to carry air to ground missiles. Only 3 and 7 do and it’s 1 AGM-88C per pylon. I’m looking at the load out screen as I type this
