Hey buddy, I have a 2004 Volvo xc70 and I did your procedure but after refilling trans I removed the trans hose from radiator and did the flush method... Worked out great and car drives and shifts better... It even seems I got some extra MPG... Only thing the flush works best with 2 people and your method can be done by 1 person, thanks.
Yep! Either way the same idea works out...either way will flush the fluid. I have done the hose method previously, but decided to do it this way this time. Mine shifted much better too glad it worked out for you!!!
... so you drain the oil at the bottom, then fill the same amount from the top through the hose. What next? You take off the radiator hose, start the engine for a couple sec, it then spills oil from the radiator that you capture, and fill the same amount? Is that correct?

I’m trying to do this myself on my 2005 Volvo s80 was a little confused with the flushing So you said about 3 1/2 quarts But then said it holds around 12 Are we putting 3 1/2 flushing it all out then doing that again I’m just curious how much actually goes in total at the end is it 3 1/2 quarts total or 12
Add the same amount of fluid that drains out each time. Then when done check the dip stick after the vehicle is hot, while idling in a flat surface. Top off with fluid if low.
Yeah but i was looking it up for my s60 and it said that there is a tranny filter on O’Reillys. So I assumed that you could also change the filter while you do the fluid flush
@@matt-diy the only reason I’m trying to change it is because My transmission is slipping so bad the car doesn’t move at all do you have any suggestions and yes it has enough fluid

@@TomSon-ej3pw yes that's it but have a helper because the fluid flows fast... Also get a piece of hose to go over radiator spout

Yes that is correct, you flush 3.5 for as long as it takes to get clean fluid. Could be more or less than 12.

I see you just basically flushed the fluid how do you change the filter to?
There is no serviceable filter on these.
