I’m not Irish, I’m Mexican/Native American who was adopted by an Irish/Italian/German family, and I’ve always loved the bagpipes and drums. Hearing it from the FDNY all my life back home in NYC. Especially after 9/11. This is just beautiful!

My joke is that I am Half Irish Half German and all Italian...but I love all my American people!
I really think that the weekend closest to the 4th of July should be American culture day when we celebrate all the awesome cultures that have been blended together in our Big old melting pot!

Every time I see an Irish pipe band here on utube they look more Scottish than Irish. Scottish kilts the pipers wearing the glengary and the pipe major wearing the feathered bonnet not to mention the Highland great pipes :-) still I guess it's a kinda compliment to Scotland.

As an indigenous Irishman I camnot get my head around the fact that in a celebration of our patron saint we see tricolours, stars and stripes and various other flags which bear absolutely no relationship to Saint Patrick. Where is the red saltire? St. Patrick's flag. Why are the participants dressed in tartan, feather bonnets and glengarrys. All Scottish attire. Why are they playing

Michael Wallace The uniform.and colours are based on the Dublin Fire Brigade uniform and not on the Irish Traditional Uniform. The kilt colours are that of Dublin City which the fire brigade are the bearers of the cities sword and mace and are the honour guard to the lord mayor.

There's no such thing as an Irish kilt. Or an Irish tartan. This is all a pastiche of Scottish regimental bands of the British army. Funnily enough.

p.s why are you complaining about Irish Americans playing bagpipes in america they have more claim to the bagpipes than you do as a ignorant dumb Scotsman, sheesh how many of you asses must i correct
