- Amhrán na bhFiann, originally composed in English as "The Soldiers' Song", is the Irish national anthem. Here it is played by the Dublin Fire Brigade Pipe Band. Founded in 1985, the pipers and drummers are all serving with the Dublin Fire Brigade.

i'm sure my ancestors marched into battle with this playing. my irish lineage broke off to australia over 200yrs ago but i'm proud to have come from there. there ain't a more beautiful sound than the bagpipes

Hi Dane. Sorry for the delay in replying to you. Yes, many Irish people don't remember all the words of the Irish national anthem as it is all in Gaelic. We learn them at school but over the years they seem to fade away in our collective memory. Thank you for taking the time to comment. Best wishes.
