How To Unlock & Start 2011 - 2015 Lincoln MKX With A Dead Or Broken Remote Key Fob Battery

A video tutorial on how to open and start a 2011 - 2015 Lincoln MKX that has a dead or broken remote key fob. If the remote key fob for your Lincoln MKX has a dead battery or is otherwise not working, you will need to use the emergency key located in the bottom of your remote key fob. Once the emergency key is removed, you will then use it to unlock the MKX driver's door. The Lincoln MKX's key fob will need to be placed in the key slot in the center console, then you will be able to start your MKX as you normally would.

Hello, i had recently bought Mkx 2014 but one key )seems spare) only open the car remotely but do not have a remote start or can start the car unless it is inside that pit knowing that I have replaced its battery earlier so does it need relearning and how? thanks you

it should not need to be re-prgorammed if it still works while in the transmitter pocket.

Not sure on that - I actually have not tried unlocking this vehicle with the emergency key and a dead battery but in general emergency keys usually still can unlock the vehicle mechanically even if there is not power
