I made the transition from vegetarian to vegan several months ago. I just found your channel because I bought an Ipot and then I got the flu. I've been binge watching your channel and taking notes while hacking up a lung...love your recipes, your positivity, the bunny ears, all of it. Thanks for all the inspiration!
You really rock and are more down to earth than anyone I’ve followed before. I LOVE how when you make a mistake you just keep right on keeping on !! God bless you and yours richly Mary E Halsey - Atlanta, GA
Jill, you are my now my favorite Plant Based TH-cam chef! Found you when I searched for soy curls recipes and your recipes are great, your videos make me happy. I went Plant based about 16 months ago after watching Forks Over Knives and read all the books you mentioned in your earlier video. Sad thing is that I don’t know anyone outside of our family who eats this way! My friends and coworkers find my lifestyle odd.... my husband and I are in our 60s and neither of us have any health issues (perfect lab results!!) and have normal BMIs... so my new lifestyle is a testament to our food choices. The key is keeping the food delicious and thank you for helping us stay on the right track!!! Thank you!!!!!
I made this today with the mashed potatoes and gravy. Except I served fresh green beans instead of broccoli because that is what I had. OMG, soooo good. I loved the loaf, but next time I will try it in a flatter pan like you suggested to see if it gets a little crisper. I am so loving this. And the gravy is awesome so thank you McDougall's also. Thanks for all that you do. I work two jobs so I don't have time to be trying stuff out and figuring out what to eat. I do keep a well stocked pantry, so I usually am able to just copy whatever you are making. LOL. Thank you.
Love this meatloaf, making it now, my 4th time, love it with potatoes and broccoli, and also in sandwiches and taco shells, really good, thank you, I really don't like the meatloaf with lentils, I have problems with beans, but this one is wonderful.
That looks yummy! My husband will love this! I like your honesty when it comes to the recipes! Your personality is great! You could do a cooking show on tv McKeevers deliciousness healthy cooking!
I just love that potato ricing attachment to your Breville thingy. I looked it up on Amazon. It's on my wish list for now. Thanks for showing it. I don't like gluey mashed potatoes so the immersion blender alone doesn't work and my arms get tired mashing them the old fashioned way. What an awesome tool. Thanks. Lynn
Jill, I have been watching and subscribed to your channel for awhile ...you have never disappointed me. I have shared numerous of your recipes and have always been HAPPY with the results. Please keep it up. You and your family remain in my prayers:) P.S. I purchased an instant pot because of you (but only 1 (lol) woot woot! Next my dream is a Vitamix Blender!!
Thank you, Jackelin, for your support and prayers. You are blessing indeed :D Have you looked at the NutriBullet 900 blender? I love using mine for blending small batches of dressings, sauces, creamy cashews for nut cheese or a spread. I use my Vitamix for making smoothies for four and when I need to make a lot of sauce to cover a casserole. But honestly, I use my NutriBullet more often. Here's my Amazon link to get a closer look at it: simpledailyrecipes.com/nutribullet
I got a Vitamix blender, then later I got a Nutribullet. Now I mostly use the Nutributtet for smoothies & salad dressings, and occasionally use the Vitamix, although I do still use it sometimes. It is hard to get thick batters out of the Vitamix, such as chickpea choc pudding, so I tend to use the Nutribullet more.
Jill, I finally pulled the trigger and made the meatless loaf in your video. For Thanksgiving! Man oh man -- it was delicious! Going by your recommendation, I didn't use a loaf pan. I put it in my 8 x 8" pan and it was perfect. I also made a turkey for the two meat eaters in our family, and made this loaf for the two plant-based eaters. I also made the gravy. The meat eaters, although they liked their turkey, also were really impressed with the loaf and the gravy. Thank you so much for this one, it will be a standard in our mixed diet family. I had made a lentil loaf previously, but we didn't care for it, it was like a brick. The soy curls were so much better. Getting your soy curls books for Christmas! (If Santa is good to me.)
You and your family are so cute, I love how real you all are.. so glad I found you on YT 👏🏻 I'm 52 live in Melbourne Australia and have been transitioning to plant based from vegetarian over the last 4 months, I've been bingeing on your videos can't get enough of your awesome personality. 🥔🍠🥕🍌
I’ve just made this today. The loaf was good. The gravy was ok. I’ll be using this for thanksgiving day and a mushroom gravy I found in another vegan cookbook. It was nice to have a tasty meal.
Made this last night. Hubby says it's a winner. I wasn't crazy about the gravy--just tasting it on a spoon. However, it was great on the potatoes and meatless loaf. Somehow the combo works. Thanks Jill!
Jill, you are so DARN CLEVER! You have some of the best and most simple nutritious and satisfying recipes in Veganland, not to mention that you are just so much fun to watch, what a plus! So, I made your soy curl loaf last night! OMG my husband, the carnivore who is very supportive (no animal products for 7 years in the house but out to dinner he is totally rogue), said, and I quote, " This is a keeper! Is this YOUR recipe?" I had to tell the truth, it wasn't. He lovingly told me I better keep following you! 😲😊 It looks like turkey loaf and has the mouth feel too. I am going to try 1/2 med beet, shredded, to see if it turns the color to that pink color of red meat next. The next day, today, he wanted it as a meatloaf sandwich. Once in the frig it firms up beautifully, and holds together so much better, as you state. I wish I had taken a photo! He added lettuce, tomato, a little mustard. The man was in HEAVEN! He says you should market this, it would put Beyond Meat (Beyond Health) out of business with! Tonight I am making your Russian Cabbage Rolls- and I think they will be AMAZING! THANK YOU THANK YOU! I love your spirit, your energy, your committment, your honesty, your opoenness, and your recipes! 👍🏻😘
I love everything about this vlog! Great opening and your meal had my mouth watering!!! ( The ricer attachment has completely convinced me of my need for a hand blender too).
If and when you decide to get one, I'd appreciate you using my Amazon affiliate link so I could get some credit for the suggestion. simpledailyrecipes.com/Breville-All-In-One-Station
Just made the meatloaf. I doubled this recipe since 1 small bag of soy curls made about 4 cups of "ground soy curls" when you beat it with a rolling pin inside a zip lock bag. I baked half the recipe in a 9inch pan and the other half in a loaf pan. Didn't see much of a difference although I used a bit less broth since you mentioned it was a bit moist. Half way thru I topped it with a mixture of half spicy barbecue sauce and half ketchup. It came out delish! I was eating it right out of the pan. Had it with vegan mac and cheese and a side of broccoli. Thanks for yet another great soy curls recipe Jill! 😊 I will definitely be making this one again. 👍👍
THANK YOU for doing the pan comparison! That is SUPER helpful! The fam and I all agreed the loaf is WAY better the next day. We liked that it became solid overnight and had the chew of a real meat meatloaf. We could slice it into sandwich slices. SO GOOD! I can't wait to make it again.
Oh, I'm so totally enjoying mine! Had it for dinner last night, sliced for lunch today, and I'm about to go have some more for dinner. Definitely a keeper to make again and again! SO glad you made it with soy curls rather than lentils too! Mine was slice-able right out the pans last night - maybe because I used a little less liquid. Yes indeed, oh so delish!! Love ya Jill!! 💕
I made this for supper tonight just as you instructed. It was really yummy!! I used a 9x9 pan and it was firm, not too wet. My 15 year old daughter (not vegan) really liked it too. She said it taste like Thanksgiving stuffing :-)
Jill, you crack me up! You're definitely entertaining to watch! I'll have to try this recipe - it sounds good - and your husband also made me laugh, when he blew a kiss to the camera! :) I also just checked out your website and your tetrazini recipe - love the recipe, will have to try that, too - and I love that your family is as kooky as you are! Thanks so much for the share! :D
Awesome! Thank you for coming back here to let me know. It's always nice to read comments from the community when they have enjoyed a successful dinner. :D
With comfort foods recipes, it's always best to get the family's honest opinion. They won't hesitate to tell me whether a recipe is worth making again.
OMG that looks delicious, can't wait to make it, thanks for sharing all your wonderful ness 😜,I got my non vegan family eating this way,my youngest sister that lives in Washington bought your OMG cookbook & dr. McDougall cookbook & just got her instant pot yesterday and that says a lot because this girl was a meat eater. Me and my family feel so much better it's going on for months for me being vegan I was vegetarian most of my life trying to get my other family members on board slowly but surely thanks again.
I❤soft & moist meatloaf & mashes w/gravy all over, and i like that "wand blender" you used for mash the tatoes! Cool stuff! I definitely will try this recipe! Thank goodness I like your style of fun time in the kitchen! Thanks!
I make your Meatless Meatloaf Muffins, with some tweaking here & there....to freeze. I really like that basic recipe. I also like your Italian Meatless Meatball recipe...now I gotta watch this video...Woot! I like the Loaf recipe (I do have a bag of soy curls in the fridge)...and think it would firm up after cooling in the pan for a while (if it lasts that long!)....you scored another one, Jill!!
I have Rip's cookbook and really enjoyed your cooking this one!! Also, I have Dr. McDougall's new cookbook and the gravy is the best I have ever eater.... I tell people all the time that vegan food is soooo good and healthy! Thank you for your wonderful cooking videos!
Looks yummy! Will try the loaf! McDougal's golden gravy is the bomb! I'm so excited, just received my Breville all in one today...got spuds in the iPot! Whoot Whoot! 💖 thanks Jill!
This was excellent. Thank you for posting these videos. In making this recipe, I discovered what I think is a better way to shred the soy curls. I put them into the Vitamix prior to soaking. They shredded so easily plus they were much easier to remove from the VM when dry vs after having soaked.
+David Rafeedie Thank you for the tip David! I'm going to try that. I am planning on making this meatless loaf again this week. The boys ate up the last loaf so fast we didn't have a chance to explore all the ways to eat it.
Made this .... enjoyed it very much.... would like it to hold together better.... thank you for your videos...... I found you through my instantpot search and have been watching for about a month now 😁
Jill, you are simply amazing!!!! We find one channel with all the expertise we need to cook strict WFPBNO Mary and Dr. McDougal-style, and you are an Instant Pot expert. Our DU060 3rd generation is soon on iits way to us.
Hi Jill, Here is an idea for a new video: a review of your favorite IP accessories and why you reccomend them; spare colored seals, non-stick baking pans, steam baskets, clamps to lift out hot containers, and what else helps to make your IP journey easy and useful. I have seen other channels list up to 10 accessories, reallly so many!!!! I only want what we need for practical WFPBNO cooking. Thank you.
This looks sooo good. Can't wait to make it. I only have 1 bag of soy curls left in my freezer; may just need to crush them myself so I don't have to wait until I can get more ordered. Lol.
Have been watching your videos. My sister went vegan for her health. I have an xl pot instead of an instant pot but I am sure I can use it to get the same results. Thanks for your videos.
Jill! Love your videos, I’m new to instant pot and vegan life, so thank you for taking the time and energy to share with us! I’m allergic to rolled oats. What’s a substitute to use in recipes like this one, and pie crusts, etc?
THIS WAS AWESOME!!!! Made this tonight using Soy Curls I crumbled with my rolling pin and OMG! So good. Great after stacking eco-bricks for the wood stoves today. Hearty and delish - comfort food!
It's Wisteria (another Texan!) I had fam issues which is why I made a sudden departure... those non-plant based folks eating stuff making them sick, so had to take time to help - BUT I'm back! Being a Texan, I may have to try this with the taco crumbles and add blackbean/corn like whats in your stuffed peppers video - with mashed potatoes!? :O You could also use this for a Shepherds Pie. I had some ripe cherry tomatoes from the garden and roasted them with garlic and used that for a garnish. It was just amazing. Thanks Jill!
I am contemplating ordering the soy curls just for this recipe! How would you prepare the soy curls if you had not had the "dust" saved? Would you grind them up and then measure? This was the first video I watched of yours...Woot Woot! Hooked me instantly!
Welcome! I hope you clicked on the subscribe button so as not to miss new videos. If I didn't have soy curls "dust", I'd simply crush the small pieces with a rolling pin. Save your long soy curls for the grill :D
Amazingly enough I was looking for a new loaf recipe to make this weekend and yours is my choice! And the gravy looks amazing! I don't have soy curls so I'll probably use either textured veg protein or just lentils :)
Go with a good brown lentil, like the French Greens or Pardina Brown. They hold their shape and will give a nice texture to the loaf. Let me know when you make it. :D
Hi Jill, I found your channel few days before and it is a wonderful and inspiring channel. Thank you so much. In germany i cant find the soy curls. But There are other Products and i Wonder, if it's the Same? Ingredients are soy flower (defattet ) and water. IT comes in various forms from small to big and for example cubes for Gulasch. Can you help me?
I love that getting serious means putting on your glasses! 😂 I hated meatloaf as a meat eater, but I think I'll give this recipe a try. if nothing else, it'll make my fiancé happy--meatloaf was his favorite before we went veggie!
My husband went back for more after I turned off the camera. And while he was putting up the food in the fridge, he kept picking at it. He made it the last food to put away. I had to fuss at him to save us some for lunch the next day.
Do you think a little ground flaxseed would help to keep it together? I love soy curls but haven"t made a loaf with it yet. Dsfinitely going to try this recipe, thank you!
how do you know how long to cook things. I see you change the time but how do you know how long. I am wanting to get a instant pot . you make it look so easy
Well this video was three years ago and I have no idea if you even still read comments on this, but I have this in the oven right now fingers crossed it turns out as good as yours did :-)
I took wheat out of my diet recently. What other kind of flour would work for the gravy recipe? Just discovered your videos yesterday and am really enjoying them.

🖒🖒 made this to bring to Easter with extended family and was asked for the recipe! 2 thumbs up for sure!!
I made this for Sunday dinner and it was fantastic. I made it in a 9x9 baking dish and it worked great.
Awesome! I can't wait to make it again, myself. Charlie kept eating at it. I had just enough to get a sandwich slice the next day.

This is an amazing loaf recipe!! I've made this twice and it's better each time!!! Thanks so much!!
This looks really yummy. This video prompted me to get a ricer/masher immersion blender for creamy mashed potatoes!
Made this last night. Hubby says it's a winner. I wasn't crazy about the gravy--just tasting it on a spoon. However, it was great on the potatoes and meatless loaf. Somehow the combo works. Thanks Jill!
I know just what you mean! I had the same reaction to the gravy, I'm not kidding. I want to add a pinch of sage next time and try it over biscuits.
Funny you should say that, I did end up adding a pinch of sage. Great minds and all that. LOL Hmm, might need to make some biscuits too.
This meal is going to visit our house very soon! Thanks, Jill, for these super recipes! ❤️
Thank you for watching, Barbara! Let me know when you make any or all of these foods. :D
Jill, you are so DARN CLEVER! You have some of the best and most simple nutritious and satisfying recipes in Veganland, not to mention that you are just so much fun to watch, what a plus! 🙌 WOOT WOOT 🙌 You're gonna love your Breville set up. They design their appliance so well.
That's the gravy Dr. McD says is his all time favorite and has his wife make it almost daily. It's the favorite in this house, too.
Love you Jill!
Love your recipes
Thanks. After see yours I watched , I belive it was Hanna and she suggested using half red lint is so it soaks up the extra moisture.
Kathy, the leftovers firmed up beautifully! We were slicing it up and making toasted sandwiches with it for lunch. SO GOOD!
Sounds great will be trying v it soon.

This looks sooo good. Can't wait to make it. I only have 1 bag of soy curls left in my freezer; may just need to crush them myself so I don't have to wait until I can get more ordered. Lol.
Sounds like a good idea to me. Get out your rolling pin and work out any agressions you may have ;D LOL
Looks so yummy 😛 I can't wait to try it.
Thanks Jill!
Have been watching your videos. My sister went vegan for her health. I have an xl pot instead of an instant pot but I am sure I can use it to get the same results. Thanks for your videos.
I got so hungry watching this video!!
Jill! Love your videos, I’m new to instant pot and vegan life, so thank you for taking the time and energy to share with us! I’m allergic to rolled oats. What’s a substitute to use in recipes like this one, and pie crusts, etc?
I loved seeing your family standing and eating together without a table getting between everyone. Thank you for sharing :-)
THIS WAS AWESOME!!!! Made this tonight using Soy Curls I crumbled with my rolling pin and OMG! So good. Great after stacking eco-bricks for the wood stoves today. Hearty and delish - comfort food!
I'm happy to read the meatloaf was a hit for you, kungfuminou. It's one of my husband's favorite meals.
Looks great! I've got a bag of soy curls in the freezer. I might try this some time this weekend!
Let me know how it works out for you :D
Jill McKeever, Simple Daily Recipes Will do!!
Looks great!
This looks awesome!!!
It is Pam! the leftovers firmed up beautifully! We were slicing it up and making toasted sandwiches with it for lunch. SO GOOD!
LOL Oh my goodness Jill! Great intro!😄💕👍🏻 No one rocks bunny ears like you! I need to get soy curls!
Thank you! Let me know when you get the soy curls. I have a playlist just for them.
Just discovered your channel. You're a hoot!
Ooo yum! Keep up the good work!
Thank you!
Hi Jill,
I found your channel few days before and it is a wonderful and inspiring channel.
Looks delicious!!
Looks so amazing, yummmmm! 💕❤💕❤💕
Do you think a little ground flaxseed would help to keep it together? I love soy curls but haven"t made a loaf with it yet. Dsfinitely going to try this recipe, thank you!
Yum. Thank you, I'll be making this soon. Comfort food! :)
I'm with Maggie. Gravy on everything!
I have to make this!
ohhh looks so delicious!!!!
I Love to have fun......And I do have a partial 12lb bag of curls!!!! Yay!!
Excellent, merci !
The best thing about meatless loaves are the sandwiches you make with the leftovers. (c:
how do you know how long to cook things.
Made this tonight and love it. How did you get the gravy brown though? Mine is off white. LOL.
