Please know, that my explanations are not based on how "I" feel a card works (unless I state that) but to show credibility, know that I have TO'ed at GenCon 2019 for FFG, I ensure I'm conversing with persons that have TO'd at regionals, nationals, or worlds for Star Wars Armada. The card or rule explanations are not officially supported by FFG.
These are rulings by human beings working with what we're currently given by FFG. FFG can (and likely will) make changes or clarifications that will either coincide or invalidate what is said.
I've always considered the Decimator to be the equivalent to a PT boat in an Armada.
Would not the Decimator be using Black dice to counter since it is .. its anti-squadron armament? Edit: found the fine print... still would be better if they used black dice.... worth the cost.
Question for you..... When Clone Wars comes out, do you think that the new ships will also just be playable along with the current lists? OR will it be designed that only clone war factions vs clone war factions ? (Almost making it like two separate games at that point (?) ) (Think you'll be able to make a list that has 3 clone war ships, 2 current ships etc )
Each ship belongs to a faction (imps, rebs, CIS, GAR). And you can only build a fleet with one faction. So no mixing.
But yes, all factions can play against each other.
@@SWAE Oooof... that screams more money on my part (im a bit of a completionist ) But then again we haven't even played since this whole covid crap has been going on =/ . I don't want to admit how much money I've already spent on Armada so I'll really need to try to control myself when these new factions come out and get just some of the basic stuff and not.... 3 of ~every damn thing like I currently have.

Got 4 but I always play rebels. But my next game....i may try a ball of these for shits and giggles.
I have run 4 Decimators on a lot of occasions, chasing and finishing off an ISD with all 4 is so much fun.
