You should review the other figure that was released with this one. The G.I. Joe 60th Anniversary Classified Series Action Sailor, Recon Diver. I would like to see your thoughts on this one as well. Same price point, army builder and 60th. Great review, thanks.
I had to watch this review from the standpoint of an objective action figure reviewer because I just watched another review of this figure from the standpoint of a real-life former military man. Objective toy reviewer gives it high marks, former military man hates it (his main gripe was the unrealistic accessories). It's fascinating to see the different points of view regarding the same figure.
I got a question for you Anthony, my love for toys started when I saw my dad's cigar box of toys from his time, little Gi joes and DC characters that barely had moveable arms and legs. Do you remember where you got your passion for collecting? Or is it just something you decided to pick up one day?
its is however what I call a Franken figure...(only Classified puts more effort in their repaints. Never an exact repaint. But a figure made of on different joe reuse. which isn't bad. Let's see, Stormshadows head, Grunts arms and torso, and Rock N Roll legs. Those might be Chuckles boots. Not sure. He has Rock n Rolls gun holster and a side leg bag, as well as his belt. Outbacks backpack. Vest seems new but I could be wrong. A lot of the accessories are new. That nice cloth goods is new. The hood, the down hood is new. Most of the guns are new I think. And dog tag. I wash most of the packs I get with my classified. That one comes out nicely. So the classified team does better with reuse. Now the diver (other one) is a complete repaint of Torpedo. But duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude all those accessories are mostly new and awesome. And I don't mind them just using Torpedo. A Seal diver is a seal diver. But I love the stuff that comes with it. Honestly? It seems more work goes into Joes and Transformers. (I don't collect Transformers. But I see them in stores and they look good.) Something isn't right with Legends. I don't know if it is cause Disney gets involved and they have to do things cheaper or what. It makes no sense how Classified is a line I rarely complain on. To one that's an overpriced I often get annoyed at.
Price has to do with licensing. Hasbro already owns GI Joe so they put more effort into them because they don’t have to pay licensing fees like they do with Marvel Legends and Black Series figures. So in the end they want to get their money’s worth and charge us more for less.
Backpack not holding the weapons is because it was made for Outback who came with a smaller gun and shovel. Having watched the Spider-Man review before this soon as you did the splits with the Joe I knew what was coming lol...
I think all the pouches being modular was an awful choice because they fall out way to easily when handling the figure, otherwise pretty good. Thanks for the review.
The pistol looks like a Taurus PT92. The first rifle looks like a cross between a regular AR and a Gilboa Snake double barrel AR. The third one is a M249 Saw LMG.
@@AnthonysCustoms yeah you're right on the exposed barrel, maybe it's a mix of Taurus and Sig or something. The PT92 isn't an exact clone of the Beretta 92 but it's close. I actually like the Taurus more. I have a PT92 AFS. It was actually made with the Beretta tooling and machines. It's better than Beretta to me because of the safety/decocker being on the frame instead of the slide.
I don't get how Hasbro can keep on making joints that don't have room to move, it happens so many times with torso ball joints and necks but there's no good reason why they can't remove enough material to give us good range. One reviewer said it was because they're sold in stores in the toy section but that's BS because Jada can get that range
It's amazing how every company ever has been ok with licensing since it allows them to sell more desirable products until Hasbro got the Marvel license. Now it's an albatross. Now it's impossible for them to compete due to licensing... Even though their competitors have licenses with Marvel as well.
Do you plan on getting the sh figurearts across the spider verse figures I’ve been wanting to get the Spider-Man 2099 but it’s pretty damn expensive and I just wanna know if I’m gonna get my moneys worth
I’d imagine most history teachers wouldn’t know their guns from their school curriculum but I went to school in Canada and that might actually be the case in the USA lol
Im not a huge G.I.Joe fan. I only ever caught some reruns as a kid but Ive been finding them a lot at my local Ross stores in the toy isle for $5.99 a peice and $11.99 for some of the bigger releases like this one and snake eyes/timber wolf. Honestly, I was blown away by the ammount of accessories you get with these figures, on top of the actual figures themselves having better proportions/sculptwor/paint jobs than their marvel legends stuff. Even the articulation is better in a lot of ways, though I wish they'd stop using that ugly higned toroso articulation thats used in marvel legends.
So you just throw out that you were a history teacher and think that no one is going to pick up on that? I'm a history nut. I knew there was some symmetry.

As a gun collector I can say that for me the firearm accessories for the Classified line is a bit of a draw back. Classified tends to use non descript guns for their figures. Basically they have the over all shape of a real life firearm but don't match up with the actual makes and models that exist in real life. There are a few exceptions but generally this is the case for Classified. This is not generally the case for Action Force however as they use 100% accurate real life firearms models for their figure accessories. I know that this doesn't matter to a lot of people and honestly it doesn't hinder my enjoyment of collecting Classified but more realistic gun accessories would be nice. I find myself getting the Action Force accessory packs and using them on my Classified figures.

I got a question for you Anthony, my love for toys started when I saw my dad's cigar box of toys from his time, little Gi joes and DC characters that barely had moveable arms and legs. Do you remember where you got your passion for collecting? Or is it just something you decided to pick up one day?
Saturday morning cartoons and my parents getting action figures for us as kids.
its is however what I call a Franken figure...(only Classified puts more effort in their repaints.
But I see them in stores and they look good.)
Something isn't right with Legends.
Why doesn't licensing affect any other company who sells marvel stuff?
Mafex, SHFiguarts, Kotobukiya, Mezco, NECA says hello
The guns are Car-15 rifle and M-60 machine gun. Trust me, I used to play Delta Force on PC.
Backpack not holding the weapons is because it was made for Outback who came with a smaller gun and shovel. Having watched the Spider-Man review before this soon as you did the splits with the Joe I knew what was coming lol...
Good info. Thanks
I think all the pouches being modular was an awful choice because they fall out way to easily when handling the figure, otherwise pretty good. Thanks for the review.
Hola, donde compras tus gijoe, en Amazon no hay
Fantastic. I need this
The ONLY subjective thing keeping me away is the fact it doesn't have more extra hands. But yeah, for $35, the value here's nuts!
Any chance you'll do some Valaverse reviews?
I agree with your take Anthony I really like this figure
Well, if it's less money, then yeah. It's ideal for Army Builder
The pistol looks like a Taurus PT92. The first rifle looks like a cross between a regular AR and a Gilboa Snake double barrel AR. The third one is a M249 Saw LMG.
The pt92 is a Beretta clone and has an exposed barrel though
@@AnthonysCustoms yeah you're right on the exposed barrel, maybe it's a mix of Taurus and Sig or something. The PT92 isn't an exact clone of the Beretta 92 but it's close. I actually like the Taurus more. I have a PT92 AFS. It was actually made with the Beretta tooling and machines. It's better than Beretta to me because of the safety/decocker being on the frame instead of the slide.
There are a couple Berettas now with the controls on the frame. Much more money than the 92 though
@@AnthonysCustoms I just saw that the Beretta 92XI has a frame mount safety, it's really nice. Too bad it's $1,000 though.
It's really nice. It's on my short list. Very high quality.
$35 for all this? Yes please!
You should do the the retro duke fig
Are you going to review the seal one?
I don't get how Hasbro can keep on making joints that don't have room to move, it happens so many times with torso ball joints and necks but there's no good reason why they can't remove enough material to give us good range.
One reviewer said it was because they're sold in stores in the toy section but that's BS because Jada can get that range
Excellent action figure but the down side is I've gotta spend 35 dollars just to army build smart move for Hasbro.
Licensing costs factor into how much you get for your buck with each toy line.
I do not. Sorry
I’d imagine most history teachers wouldn’t know their guns from their school curriculum but I went to school in Canada and that might actually be the case in the USA lol
Let's just say I'm not like most teachers
Classified vs Marvel the choice couldn't be more obvious!!🤨?
I think mavel team thinks beacause the characters are more popular they don't need to put much effort , wich sucks but is kinda true.
Would you be interested in reviewing the Retro Duke?
Yes but IDK if I'll buy him
I really wish they’d get rid of the drop down hips.
It's a good offering like most of the gi joe stuff Marvel legends has just plain gotten lazy
MA Duece
Your knowledge of pew pews, gear and packages is masterclass ❤
what a nice fine and beauty action figure i like it
this is $35??? i thought for sure it's $40 at least!
So you just throw out that you were a history teacher and think that no one is going to pick up on that? I'm a history nut. I knew there was some symmetry.
I thought it was a gray uniform . Guess i wont be buying this after all
As a gun collector I can say that for me the firearm accessories for the Classified line is a bit of a draw back.
I agree. Real is better
@@AnthonysCustomsValaverse uses paintball guns as well. A big company like Hasbro can’t make direct replicas of real guns because of copyright infringement.
The size of the company doesn't change copyright law. They're just less likely to risk it because they would have to pay to play
@@AnthonysCustomsI was trying to say smaller companies can slide under the radar but Hasbro is too high profile. Even Valaverse modifies the real and paintball guns they use for reference.
I would bet the ball peg in the neck is one long ball peg that goes from the collar bone area all the way up through the neck and into the bottom of the head. G.I. Joe Classified are a great value for your money. That Spider-Man is garbage. Haha
You didn't grow up on g.i Joe. I'm surprised at that you were my age.
I was born in 87. It was mostly before my time.
Anthony definitely seems like one of those teachers you always tend to remember leaving a positive mark on you for years after you graduate.
9.5/10… for a figure that can’t even look up while using a weapon that’s placed on the ground. Your reviews have really been confusing me lately..
it's not difficult to understand the rating. the figure gives you really good aesthetic, accessories, and good enough articulation for a low price.
Tbf gi joe's is hasbro owned so they don't need to pay license fee. Then again Disney owns most of Marvel, so they should be supported by Disney, thus having more money to spend on their figure creations? But they're greedy, so, 🤷♂️

Gi joe aren't meant to be realistic though
@@AnthonysCustoms I DARE you to say that to his face! 🤣
Who? Joe? I didn't think he's a real guy.
@@TrentVandal dude, you missed Anthony podcast with 3poa, and Tony/Analog Toys was there too lol
Gi joe classified is so better Than marvel legends. Even the worst articulated gi joe is 10 times better than all "super articulated" Spider-Man.
Cool fig, but kinda overpriced imo, and why can’t they just ever paint guns black or just use black plastic?
I want this to be the new standard for Gi joe. In fact I want to order 20 of these and just pop all the other characters heads on them. But the new Doc figure looks like they are aiming in that direction
