I remember playing in the violin section on the recordings of the main title and first two episodes at Paramount Studios, 9/10,9/11, 2001. The Conductor, Dennis McCarthy, at the end of first day said” okay I’ll see you all back tomorrow.” The next morning,9/11,we woke up to planes hitting the World Trade Centers. In shock and trying to comprehend what was happening, I drove to Paramount along almost deserted freeways. The head of the Star Trek franchise, Rick Berman, came up to the conductors podium and said if you needed to leave you could go. Every single musician stayed and recorded the music and finished the job. Finally in 2005, they ended the Star Trek Franchise and closed the Paramount scoring stage. 1987-2005. Recorded every Star Trek tv show. Great times.Great Composers. Great Musicians.❤️🎻☕️🙏

thank you for your service. Star Trek is not very well-known in Europe or even in today's popular culture, and it's a shame. It may be the greatest franchise ever - in terms of promoting human excellence over a broad spectrum in the pursuit of upholding what makes us human: the connections we ought to develop with each other. Each person that took part in the unfolding of this vision should feel very proud for what they have contributed. Faith of the heart is a song that every teenager should listen to.

The original theme in S1 + 2 was perfect.
This was the first time humanity was really getting into space. This needed more of a first time, human-like touch with lyrics.
Every Star Trek that doesn't have lyrics in the intro is beautiful, and majestic.
The soft rock element of this really just adds to what Enterprise really was.
I love to sing, and I love to sing this song. It's moving to me.
Each Star Trek theme has something special, it's really hits my emotions. I'm glad for the difference this had brought. I'm so glad that Star Trek series have been made, and made again.
I am grateful for the opportunity to have these series in my life, and I'm glad to be able to say I'm a fan them.
Of course to each their own. I can not make anyone like this, or any other Star Trek series. But that's fine. That's just how we are as humans.
To anyone who has read this; have a good day. I hope you can be humble towards those you meet, and that each of us learns more by each growing day.

Actualy i think the Enterprise ended well, Federation forming up, Riker holodeck interviews of history, it was good and show ended before it started to be cringe, they already started to copy previous ideas from other Star Trek episodes with Mirror Darkly being the most copy paste tragic reedition of old screenplays. It`s good that they ended it before they copied too much. Idea was great even if it`s agains many known Star Trek Lore facts. Characters were interesting, stories were nice, opening is still catching eye and ear. Not as good as TNG, not that feminist as Voyager, not that anti rascist as DS9, perfectly balanced show.

From sailing ships to the oceans in the 18th century.
The airplane in the air by Orville and Wilbur Wright.
    Apollo 11 on the moon.
The International Space Station in orbit around Earth today.
First contact with other life forms from other planets on April 5, 2063.

I don't get why this got so much hate. Its a great song, it sums the development of humanity over the years of going from sea to sky to space. I find it very uplifting, especially when it shows all the advances being made.
Its also aimed at Vulcans, as they state they don't feel humans are ready to join the interstellar community, but its about Archer and his crew having the faith in themselves to ignore them and strive to be better, explore and learn

Yet with social media, they were able to fan them even more for those bothered by both songs to catch the staunch criticizers wave and the small percentage who never gave the show approval from the start .. a percentage out of millions of supporters STAR TREK: ENT globally. The voice of complainers only sound loud because the room for haters was akin to the Void in STAR TREK: VOY. Diane Warren like Rihanna must be that fan of Star Trek so for her contribution, I support both theme songs with no comparisons to pick one over the other.

It was hated when it first came out because until that point every Star Trek series essentially had a similar lyric-free instrumental theme. The Next generation and Voyager themes in particular sort of set, the tone for what people were expecting. Even the Deep Space 9 theme was polarizing when it came out, and it’s much closer to the other two theme songs than this.
This song felt like something out of a Hollywood blockbuster like Aerosmith’s song in Armageddon, so the existing Fanbase was disgusted, because it broke so many existing conventions. (fun fact; Diane Warren, who wrote this song also wrote that Aerosmith song, so…….yeah.)
20 years later, I think some people still detest it, but other people have kind of reevaluated it, and it now has its own kind of ironic following among the Trek fanbase.

The Space shuttle Enterprise was actually named by a hundred Trekkies who wanted it to be named after the NCC-1701 Enterprise and did not know that the shuttle wouldn't actually go to space in real life. This is literally the anthem of Starfleet. I don't get how anyone can hate this theme or think it has anything to do with religion.
It's what the show was about: humanity's immeasurable potential to grow, and their indomitable spirit. Like the ship and crew of the NX-01, they humanity will take it's licks, get battered and bruised and yes, even limp home from time to time in pieces, but we'll always come back.

It does have to do with religion. A lot of people seem to be under this delusion, perhaps because they only watched TNG, that the future of Star Trek is atheist and anti-religion. Kirk was a Christian. He ends Star Trek 3 by rejecting the utilitarian Vulcan message that Spock gave at the end of Wrath of Khan, by asserting the value of the human soul. DS9 was very respectful towards religion with many characters from Worf to Sisko having their own thoughts on it. Theres nothing wrong with a religious connotation to the song. And I say that as someone who isn't religious. If you want the real Star Trek message it should be about getting along instead of getting grossed out by someone having a faith you don't share.

I prefer the original. something about it being 'slower' gives it more a more 'stately' feel to the build-up through the images.
The remix a few seasons later just sounds too much of a head-bopping remix.

Aside from anything else, by Trek and TNG, the Federation were an established militarised force, stomping across the galaxy spreading the good word. Enterprise is about a group of people running before they can walk, getting into trouble and getting out of it on their own with whatever resources they have. And "Faith of the Heart" really matches that frontier spirit for me.

One thing I liked about enterprise is that because the NX-01 (that shows enterprise) was such an early ship they really made it feel like a submarine. Lots of switches and lights and metal and mesh walkways. Vs the TNG enterprise that looked like a Convention center at the Ramada inn.

I have TREMENDOUS love for the Star Trek tV shows dating all the way back to the original, which will always be my favorite. When this series came out, I thought "ohhhh this intro is different...okay, change is cool." It almost feels like an homage to all the other Star Trek in terms of what they represent...exploration of other worlds / believing in the world beyond the stars. Although I only like the first two seasons of this show, I can definitely appreciate what the show tried to do at the time (2001). Shows are usually a reflection of what's happening in the world at that time and if I'm not mistaken, the show aired literally right when 911 hit...so people were looking for something hopeful. The intro is a direct reflection of that hopefulness.

There are a few episodes here and there that was good but season 1-3 was utter boredom and the Xindi War was a cheep attempt to mimic the success of the Dominion War.
Sorry it did not last long enough as Season 4 was finally Star Trek!!! There was so many things going on planned for Season 5 such as Shran becomes a regular, first visit to the cloud City, the first Starbase erected in the Berengarian system and the prelude to the Romulan War which would have been a 2 season arc until the final season of the show did go beyond 4 season.

    • @wolfpup3

3's my least favorite season, and 4 probably my favorite, but I loved all 4 seasons. That stuff you mention for S5 is all real? Sounds seriously awesome. As though I needed more reason to hate that it got cancelled!

    • @digipeeper
      @digipeeper 8 ปีที่แล้ว

wolfpup3 yeah after the shows cancellation, Manny Coto,Andre Bornanis have announced the proposals and Paramount just killed those dreams. Though its business and the ratings was poor they could have stick it out a little longer they could have reap the profit through DVD sales, syndication and global reruns. The series and Voyager sucked and because of two people Rick Berman and Brannon Braga! It only took these two to kill a franchise!

    • @wolfpup3

Well I liked Voyager, but I can't wrap my head around the idea that Enterprise's ratings were bad. What the frack were people watching if not Enterprise?!? I can't even think of anything else save Stargate that was remotely as good during that time.

I never understood the hate for this intro. I guess all those neck beard nerds think that the only type of intro you can have for Star Trek is some uppity boring orchestra. However, Enterprise was about the struggle humanity faced in first reaching the stars and this song and the images were completely appropriate and fitting.

+5150Joker I am speaking as someone only familiar by osmosis and the J.J. Abrams films, but I agree. Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't there a lot of philosophical and religious lessons in Star Trek's dialogue? If so, this is smack bang with the religious angle (just imagine people singing this in church; it is not out of place).

    • @nerysghemor5781
      @nerysghemor5781 9 ปีที่แล้ว +16

+5150Joker I liked it because it makes clear that this is NOT the same humanity we see in the 23rd century, and sets the tone that these people will be a lot closer to our culture than to what we've seen on other shows. It fits with other little details that, whatever the show's flaws were, its creators paid attention to: things like the obvious influence of Space Shuttle and Apollo module, and submarine interiors on the ship's design, the NASA-inspired uniforms, and even little things like Archer using contemporary expressions and even swearing at people once in a while. Mild swearing so as to not get a totally kid-unfriendly rating, but I actually kinda cheered at his line in that one episode where he flipped out and yells that they have "BUSTED THEIR ASSES" to get where they are. VERY much unlike what we see from Picard, or even Kirk, who had no clue what a "dumbass" or the middle finger was.
Archer really got written badly in some episodes ("A Night in Sickbay," gonna pretend that one never existed), but there were times when he did things 24th century humans never would, where I actually preferred his reactions since they are so much more relatable. Unlike a lot of Trek fans who like to claim he was a "bigot" against the Vulcans, I do consider him justified in his anger against them, seeing as they were the ones who made up the Prime Directive BS after having proceeded to interfere in MAJOR ways in both the social and technological development of Earth because their little egos were threatened by us.

I think it's unfair to call them neckbearded nerds and unnecessary. I am not a man, nor do I have a neckbeard after all.

Best Star Trek opening ever made. I don't care what the self-called "fans" say, Enterprise's opening was simply beautiful, it made Star Trek get out of the era of the Federation, it made us see the pioneers who helped the foundation of this utopia. This opening doesn't honor the Federation, it honors humanity, our own species, with our dreams and achievements to reach them, it is the true opening of Star Trek : look at them ! They are humans ! This opening honors our abilities to do the best of ourselves, making our whole species progress. And that's fcking why it is the best opening for a Star Trek show.
