  • Today Elijah Smith is testing for his BJJ Purple Blue. After training for over two years as a blue belt, going undefeated as a Professional MMA Fighter, and winning a BJJ Tournament as a Blue Belt he has finally met the requirements to test for his Purple Belt. As with the Blue Belt Test we have decided to record the test so other students can see how the test is conducted. These test are not a pass/fail thing per se. They are design to see if the students are proficient enough in their Blue Belt skills to move up and to see what areas they need help in. In other words, it is a tool for growth. Thank you Elijah for being a gracious demonstrator. It isn't easy testing in front of a camera.

    11. 2 x-guard sweep (demonstrate one transition get to x-guard)
    12. 3 escapes from mount
    13. 3 escapes from back control
    14. 3 escapes from side control

Love these videos. It's also great to see a father train his son. Nothing more important than having a quality father like you

    Keep training great fighters.
Glad to see you are personally involved with your student (I typically have an assistant to help so I can watch but you get respect for being in there.)

That vice grip to darce is pretty nasty. We have several guys on my team that are amazing at that transition and I’m trying to work on it. Appreciate the video.

Really like your video of the test and your son is getting good in Jiu Jitsu! Forget the naysayers about testing, it’s good to see demonstrations instead of gold medals. Excellent!

Thank you that is so true you need some stand-up before you can take someone to the ground or defend someone train yourself before you take someone to the ground

I havent even watched all of it. I recorded it to my files, will re-watch it several times, for my purple belt pre.. I love what I see here, cause not very many instructors give away for free their belt testing curriculum. You've got a pretty decent purple belt in this young man.

I think it is a good tool to actually see where a person is at and not just toss someone a belt just because.

Don't know about this...not looking smooth...of course it will come with time... needs to flow... relax into all moves.. would of waited 6 or more months... can't be handing out belts just for likes...

Ok, let's use our brains. I know that might be difficult for you but do you think he earned his belt by this video. Or maybe he has training, rolling, and competing for the last 3 years as a blue belt. The hardest thing to do is be tested in front of a camera for everybody to see. However, do yourself a favor and google, TH-cam, and/or instagram Elijah Smith and see everything he has accomplished!

@@ColoradoVictoryMMA watch a Roy Dean purple belt test then understand... you'll see smooth and real rolling... doing tournaments... never means your ready...it just means your wasting money... Remember... I didn't see anything smooth about his ability...3 yrs 🤨🤨🤨he should flow from one move to another... just another fight club asking for likes...

@@user-qq8rx5du2h the funny part is likes does nothing for me. My page gets paid off viewership so thanks for watching. As far as your opinion, I pretty much wipe my ass with it as I count my dollars from your viewership time. However, I would respect you more if you post a video of your purple belt test, instead of running mouth and being an internet troll

BJJ belt tests are not normal and are a huge red flag that this is a bad gym

    • @ColoradoVictoryMMA
      @ColoradoVictoryMMA  14 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

Think about this, I’m actually testing my son to make sure there’s no favoritism and everybody hits a certain level before there move on the next level. Testing is the only objective way to keep things fair. You obviously know nothing gyms. You know about my gym. There are world class gyms that I will admit are better than mine when it comes to BJJ, that tests. You are talking IBJJF World Champions. I.e. Robert Drysdale, who we are an affiliated under. To even write this about someone’s gym that you have never trained at shows how much of an internet and b*tch you are! I bet the house that you don’t even train!
