However, if you completely wet your body (whatever method), soap up and rinse off; there's no sweat to mix with anything. More importantly, you can bathe all you want and not clean/ change your sheets regularly and still have the same issues. That's why I was raised to not sit or wear outside clothes on beds.

Here in Tobago we're trained from childhood to bathe (shower) twice a day . We're brought up on the saying that "cleanliness is Close to Godliness" My sis currently bathes my niece twice to three times a day. She says its to train her to be clean when she gets older.
Some days you just don't feel like showering. If you're gonna sit in the house all day and you're not going anywhere then why shower? Unless you are on your period, then yes you should shower. I used to feel like them but I have many friends who I recently found out don't shower everyday. They never stink, and I have a sensitive nose, and their skin is so soft. I just think it varies from person to person. I can go a day without a full shower and not stink.

I shower once every 14 days and not ashamed to say it. I have severe chronic dry skin, I wash my parts and face (oxygen wash) daily and get a fully body oil milk cleanse every Saturday using oxygen treatment. I now have the best skin and no stretch marks. I shower using an oxygenated system though and rejuvenating body serum and let me tell you it works. I do not ever wish to go to showering everyday, I used to look like a lizard. People think I am lying because my skin is bomb but I swear lmao.

I have Jamaican parents who emigrated to the UK. I was born in the UK, I shower every morning and, have a bath before bed. I brush my teeth after every meal even at work. That's how Jamaicans approach hygiene, NO birdbaths.

I think there's a lot of reason that depends on how you shower. For example, if you take a shower every day are they long or short? If you shower once a day is it because you shower at night? If you take 3-4 showers a week then are you doing bird baths in between or maybe is it because where you live isn't really hot so you don't sweat or maybe your not active so you don't really get dirty. Or are you skipping one day then shower the next an so forth. Of course, if you go to the gym or get dirty shower again. Also, there are people who have sensitive skin or have eczema so they have to be careful with showering too much. I will say there is a thing when you are overdoing with the showers because even if you put on lotion it is still bad for the skin just like washing your hair too many times dries the scalp and makes your head more oily.

I will say this; as a med student, we were told (and were suprised, too) that you really technically just need to wash the areas with soap that collect sweat, etc. like under the arms, other areas with hair, etc. Everything else you can just let water rinse off. Obviously many people wouldn't only do that- heck I'm all about soap and lather, otherwise I don't feel clean, but from a medical perspective, taking showers too often does dry out your skin b/c you're removing the essential oils that help to hydrate it in the first place. It's the same reason why dermatologists advice you to not wash your face multiple times a day. I'm just sayin' :)

Honestly it depends on your daily routine. If you're someone who works out or has an occupation that causes you to be outside for an excessive amount of time or if your work comes with a lot of physical activity then twice a day is a must. But a shower per day is not as insane as everyone is crying about in the comment section, especially if you are a night shower type of person. Taking a shower in the morning only eight hours of motionless is a bit unnecessary (unless you engaged in intercourse the night prior). Only time I would wash about three times a day is during my menstrual due to my own hygienic preference.

I think it depends on whether you have odour problems or not, like if you get stinky super quickly you'll have to bathe everyday but for people who still smell good the next day it's alright for them. I shower every 2 days or every three days
@tamera people with dry skin need to be especially careful with how many showers they take. Water dries out your skin if it is followed immediately with body cream NOT lotion. If you don't have dry skin, do whatever you want.

I have sensitive skin/eczema. My dermatologist has prescribed me medicated lotions and ointments for the purpose of renewing my skin when I shower more than once a day. Because, that's no lie. My skin would get DRIED OUT! Because I don't see the purpose of showering in the morning, going about your day business... and then NOT showering before you go out at night. It's even hard for me when I have to be someplace at 130pm and then have a rehearsal at 7pm... and not showering a second time in between those two engagements. ESPECIALLY during the summer!
So true. I have eczema as well and my dermatologist told me that bathing too much can cause my skin to act up. At the most I bathe twice a day and even then I have to replenish my skin. Once a day is enough if you aren't out getting super sweaty.

I have eczema too , so when i shower i just cover myself head to toe in coconut oil . If i'm having a flair up i use creams and body washes with the eczema association seal of approval to clear it up .

I shower once every 14 days and not ashamed to say it. I have severe chronic dry skin, I wash my parts and face (oxygen wash) daily and get a fully body oil milk cleanse every Saturday using oxygen treatment. I now have the best skin and no stretch marks. I shower using an oxygenated system though and rejuvenating body serum and let me tell you it works. I do not ever wish to go to showering everyday, I used to look like a lizard. People think I am lying because my skin is bomb but I swear lmao.

I have Jamaican parents who emigrated to the UK. I was born in the UK, I shower every morning and, have a bath before bed. I brush my teeth after every meal even at work. That's how Jamaicans approach hygiene, NO birdbaths.

I think there's a lot of reason that depends on how you shower. For example, if you take a shower every day are they long or short? If you shower once a day is it because you shower at night? If you take 3-4 showers a week then are you doing bird baths in between or maybe is it because where you live isn't really hot so you don't sweat or maybe your not active so you don't really get dirty. Or are you skipping one day then shower the next an so forth. Of course, if you go to the gym or get dirty shower again. Also, there are people who have sensitive skin or have eczema so they have to be careful with showering too much. I will say there is a thing when you are overdoing with the showers because even if you put on lotion it is still bad for the skin just like washing your hair too many times dries the scalp and makes your head more oily.

I will say this; as a med student, we were told (and were suprised, too) that you really technically just need to wash the areas with soap that collect sweat, etc. like under the arms, other areas with hair, etc. Everything else you can just let water rinse off. Obviously many people wouldn't only do that- heck I'm all about soap and lather, otherwise I don't feel clean, but from a medical perspective, taking showers too often does dry out your skin b/c you're removing the essential oils that help to hydrate it in the first place. It's the same reason why dermatologists advice you to not wash your face multiple times a day. I'm just sayin' :)

Honestly it depends on your daily routine. If you're someone who works out or has an occupation that causes you to be outside for an excessive amount of time or if your work comes with a lot of physical activity then twice a day is a must. But a shower per day is not as insane as everyone is crying about in the comment section, especially if you are a night shower type of person. Taking a shower in the morning only eight hours of motionless is a bit unnecessary (unless you engaged in intercourse the night prior). Only time I would wash about three times a day is during my menstrual due to my own hygienic preference.

I think it depends on whether you have odour problems or not, like if you get stinky super quickly you'll have to bathe everyday but for people who still smell good the next day it's alright for them. I shower every 2 days or every three days

@tamera people with dry skin need to be especially careful with how many showers they take. Water dries out your skin if it is followed immediately with body cream NOT lotion. If you don't have dry skin, do whatever you want.

Showering in the morning wakes me up and makes my skin feel good to put my body lotion and perfume on. Having a bubble bath with candles at night is relaxing before bed. But what I would say is don’t stay more then 5 minutes in each shower as you are showering twice a day but I soap myself 3 times in the morning 3 times at night that’s just my ritual 🙏🏼🤍

I have sensitive skin/eczema. My dermatologist has prescribed me medicated lotions and ointments for the purpose of renewing my skin when I shower more than once a day. Because, that's no lie. My skin would get DRIED OUT! Because I don't see the purpose of showering in the morning, going about your day business... and then NOT showering before you go out at night. It's even hard for me when I have to be someplace at 130pm and then have a rehearsal at 7pm... and not showering a second time in between those two engagements. ESPECIALLY during the summer!
So true. I have eczema as well and my dermatologist told me that bathing too much can cause my skin to act up. At the most I bathe twice a day and even then I have to replenish my skin. Once a day is enough if you aren't out getting super sweaty.

I have eczema too , so when i shower i just cover myself head to toe in coconut oil . If i'm having a flair up i use creams and body washes with the eczema association seal of approval to clear it up .

I've been vegan for about five years now and I STILL get really bad flare-ups on the regular. So for some people unfortunately, yes, it's something you have to learn to live and deal with while treating it as best you can.
