I love the horses there!!! They are so gentle and calm, it was so great for you to take the time to teach me and my little cousin. I really love ringo! He was such an angel 🥺
Thank you Jamey! Being respectful of the horse while being firm are necessary to provide the leadership a horse seeks in us. Anyone using spurs on a riding horse in a harsh manor simply doesn't know how to use them or what they are for. Spurs are great communication tools and are in no way harsh when used correctly. And bits, of course bits are useful and often necessary. Like spurs, bits should be selected wisely and used properly. Some bits are more harsh than others. Harsher bits should never be used by someone who doesn't know how to use them and should never be used on a horse that isn't ready for that form of communication. I am very gentle with my horses and my horses desire to be with me. The trust me and respect me. And yes, I use bits and spurs on them and do so properly. I am also able to ride them in nothing but a halter if I have no task to preform and we don't need any agility in our job at the moment. To say that bits and spurs are never needed is only true in a leisurely and jobless riding setting and by no means true in more involved horsemanship. Thank you for watching and thanks for the comment. Stay wild and free!

Ok my 4 yr old tennessee Walker knows how to longe but refuses to longe for me ,he did great with the trainer ,he's a dominant gelding, when I longe him he moves with no euthaism,( has no concern for the flag stick )my horse won't do as well as your horse on your video! I have a round pen, maybe a lap or to cuts the circle in hf then nothing,be backs on the longe line ,and does other things well for his age ,I stand behind the girth push with my shoulder point click ask ,very little ,.
I have had horses like that too. We just have to convince them that we are the alpha and adjust our pressure to meet them where they are. On lazy horses, I use a Longe whip rather than a flag. If the horse requires more pressure, then give it to them. Try turning up your energy and pressure and make your horse believe you.

Ringo thought you were pretty neat too! Thank you for coming out and I hope you come back real soon! We have a lot to learn!
Nice to finally see someone being gentle. Well done. Bits, spurs and harsh training are never needed.
