I can't seem to find the ''ASIO settings'' you mention in 4:12. Please help! Also in Voice Meter there is only 2 Hardware Inputs, one virtual input and I can't see the Master Section

Thanks for the tutorial, it's working well! Unfortunately, as far as I'm concerned, I installed Asio to input lag on my instrument with Ableton and going through VM Banana adds an extra layer of lag that nullifies what I gained with Asio. So... back to square one :o
Yeah, I've faced the same issue as you, and it seems like the problem is with the newer versions of voicemeeter banana. I tried to download an older version of it (available on uptodown), close to the one tha appears in the video, and with that one, the aux input appears on the ASIO4ALL control panel.

@@escho1 I dont fully remember, I'll tell you what I have setup so you can try to replicate and maybe that helps, voicemeeter I have nothing on input and I have just my headphones on output A1 ASIO4ALL I have only enabled the out on voicemeeter point 7, maybe try messing with each point to see if that helps and my sound output on windows is voicemeeter input (vb-audio voicemeeter VAIO)

Was having issues with being unable to use the AUX input even though it was all set up... turns out, I forgot to use Banana and was just using the regular version. 10/10 tutorial. Will be using this to record. Thanks a ton dude!
do you know how to fix the audio from being laggy? i did what he did in the vid but sometimes my audio in FL crackles and drops, with regular asio it doesn't do this.
4:18 This works great! I may add that to actually make it work I had to select "Voicemeeter Virtual ASIO" in FL Studio in Options - Audio settings. I didnt have to touch my Asio4All control panel at all. Can now play with very low latency in FL Studio and have sound in the rest of windows too at the same time. Voicemeeter does work.
Oh thanks! I'm using Reaper and was experimenting hicups/slowdowns, so I checked my audio device settings, and instead of using ASIO4ALL, I selected Voicemeter AUX Virtual ASIO and now Reaper playback seems to work correctly and youtube still works. Will experiment a bit more with midi capture but so far looks like a win!

@@gavinduwickramasinghe39 As far as I can tell, delay is very much dependent on your drivers, your sound card, and your midi device(s). I tried changing blocks and other settings but didn't really see a marked change. Right now there is enough delay that I need to move my notes after recording which is kinda annoying. Glad I could be of some help, even if partial :)
Man I don't know how to thank you! It actually used to work just fine but after some update the sounds from windows just went silent. It has been like a half a year of constantly messing with the buffer length because that's the only solution I've found until this video....Thank you again for saving me like 10minutes of every day!
Please, I need some help with this: I have installed voicemeeter, but I can't make it work with asio4all v2 and Ableton Live v12: The first thing I've noticed is that I have three VOICEMEETER options in Windows to select the output from (at the windows tray): VoiceMeeter in 1 , VoiceMeeter VAIO3 Input and VoiceMeeter AUX Input; only with the latest I can hear all Windows sounds except for the ASIO4ALL from Ableton. Also, in the hardware configuration button for ASIO4ALL I can see, inside the option for VB-Audio Voicemeeter VAIO, 8 "Voicemeeter PointS" without a micro icon and another 8 plus with a micro icon. Even if I activate every point I get no sound, and even changing the output sound in windows to any of the three voicemeeter options mentioned earlier. Thanks in advance !
I don't know if I am doing it right, but in Ableton, I have selected the driver "Voicemeeter AUX Virtual ASIO" instead of "ASIO4ALL v2" and now it works... with minimal latency.l don't know if it is equivalent to asio4all, but I think it is very acceptable or almost with no latency. Someone also adivsed to disable Delay Compensation in the Options menu for Ableton for it to work better... In fact I suspect that voicemeeter changed a lot of things since the creation of this video, and that is why I am finding that trouble configuring things...

To give an idea how stellar this program is, I installed it in the middle of the video. Rebooted, had no sound. Went in the program, it said "assign audio out A1". Clicked on A1, assigned the audio output. Voilà! Took me 20 sec to figure out!

The software is genius fucking hell. Here's what I use, with 0 latency (I use Renoise as my DAW and also have a piano in line-in) Make Windows sound the VoiceMeeter Input (like in Video) In VoiceMeeter: - Change Hardware Out to ASIO4ALL - [Optional] Add Line-In as Hardware Input 1 (using MME, for some reason WDM sounds awful, MME sounds good) - in your DAW, choose 'Voicemeeter Virtual ASIO' as the output. Works amazingly. I can't believe the software is free. Imma donate, because this saved my life tbh.

This was great but now how can I get my guitar that's plugged into my interface to make sound? I tried making my audio interface the input in audio settings but no luck. When I select input on the mixer the dropdown shows "Not Connected"

Excellent video, Squdlum. VB worked perfectly, allowing me listen to both the DAW and Finale at the same time, or separately, and the Line Input as a special treat. It doesnt work for me, Im using a Scarlett Solo Interface. i downloaded the Voice meeter BANANA, selected the Scarlett Solo on "Hardware Out", changed my sound device to the VAIO one, and on ASIO4ALL configuration just left turn on the out of the AUX VAIO. My guitar is connected to the Scarlett Solo and following those steps I can not see how the computer could get the input of the guitar, I tried to also turn on the input of the Scarlett and then I can hear my guitar but it sounds horrible and with a lot of latency...
I've been using Voicemeeter as a virtual Asio4All player for a few days, and everything was fine at first, but now I can only play the audio from my PC through one of the two speakers, more specifically, only the left audio channel is played, I've been playing for a couple of days I don't know what to do... Thanks for the video! My problems is that ASIO4ALL is bypassing the headset jack as well as mute button on the keyboard. I need to use the headset jack with ASIO4ALL. Is there a settings adjustment within windows 10 and ASIO4ALL 2.14 which will allow me to use the headsets? Thank you.

I always had this problem and never found a solution. But interestingly enough, after updating my Asio4all and DAW, asio now self-pauses when i go out of my DAW so i can watch a tutorial and use the DAw without closing/reopening everything each time! Thanks dude for this tutorial, it might come in usefull if I ever need to use an external sound source and DAW simultaniously (or save my marriage)!
i don't know why, but Voicemeeter just doesn't show up as a program or in my search bar when i try to find it. All I can find, after I install it and reboot, is the same install thing.
Hello! I have a question, does voicemeeter mess up the windows audio system and reduces it in quality? I've heard virtual cables causes damage (most commonly voicemeeter) to your audio system in many other threads. Furthermore I've heard that voicemeeter becomes a nuisance after a Windows Update, requiring a painful removing and reinstallation.

@@lucasrvfxsorry I never got notified about your reply and this is an alt I barely use. I did, but I don't use asio4all because it just made the latency worse with voicemeter. I just select the voice meter asio instead of asio4all and that finally fixed my audio issues. I haven't been on my PC much but I'm getting a high end pre built this week. Hopefully I won't need this application anymore.

can someone help me? When i set my own microphone in any DAW, there's no audio at all in the DAW. The sound works for youtube and other stuff, it's just the DAW's audio doesnt work unless i have the laptop built in microphone set

I am a noob so I am not sure how to say this but it seems to change the tone of my guitar also set the volume lower for some instruments in the youtube song. Do you know what configuration is needed to keep the original sounds?

I have no audio interface. I use a stereo cable that connects the pedalboard to the PC through the microphone input. When I record on Reaper, the sound is more or less tolerable. The problem is when I try to record a second track, for example lead guitar, while the rhythm plays. The sound of the recording is very distorted, with a horrible quality. This also happens if I turn on the metronome. It seems that the recording is affected when the pc produces sound at the same time. I formatted my pc a little while ago, and it seems to have solved the problem, however, I don't know how the problem came back. On the other hand, if you try to record in FL Studio, the sound is always bad. I don't know if it's any Asio problem. When I say that the sound is bad I refer for example to the sound of certain videos that are on youtube with poor quality where the sound comes out all distorted full of interference. Please I need help.

Excellent video, Squdlum. VB worked perfectly, allowing me listen to both the DAW and Finale at the same time, or separately, and the Line Input as a special treat. Defo going to donate to VB . . . why Windows couldn't do this is beyond me.

It doesnt work for me, Im using a Scarlett Solo Interface. i downloaded the Voice meeter BANANA, selected the Scarlett Solo on "Hardware Out", changed my sound device to the VAIO one, and on ASIO4ALL configuration just left turn on the out of the AUX VAIO. My guitar is connected to the Scarlett Solo and following those steps I can not see how the computer could get the input of the guitar, I tried to also turn on the input of the Scarlett and then I can hear my guitar but it sounds horrible and with a lot of latency...

I've been using Voicemeeter as a virtual Asio4All player for a few days, and everything was fine at first, but now I can only play the audio from my PC through one of the two speakers, more specifically, only the left audio channel is played, I've been playing for a couple of days I don't know what to do...

Thanks for the video! My problems is that ASIO4ALL is bypassing the headset jack as well as mute button on the keyboard. I need to use the headset jack with ASIO4ALL. Is there a settings adjustment within windows 10 and ASIO4ALL 2.14 which will allow me to use the headsets? Thank you.

I always had this problem and never found a solution. But interestingly enough, after updating my Asio4all and DAW, asio now self-pauses when i go out of my DAW so i can watch a tutorial and use the DAw without closing/reopening everything each time! Thanks dude for this tutorial, it might come in usefull if I ever need to use an external sound source and DAW simultaniously (or save my marriage)!
i don't know why, but Voicemeeter just doesn't show up as a program or in my search bar when i try to find it. All I can find, after I install it and reboot, is the same install thing.
Hello! I have a question, does voicemeeter mess up the windows audio system and reduces it in quality? I've heard virtual cables causes damage (most commonly voicemeeter) to your audio system in many other threads. Furthermore I've heard that voicemeeter becomes a nuisance after a Windows Update, requiring a painful removing and reinstallation.

@@lucasrvfxsorry I never got notified about your reply and this is an alt I barely use. I did, but I don't use asio4all because it just made the latency worse with voicemeter. I just select the voice meter asio instead of asio4all and that finally fixed my audio issues. I haven't been on my PC much but I'm getting a high end pre built this week. Hopefully I won't need this application anymore.

can someone help me? When i set my own microphone in any DAW, there's no audio at all in the DAW. The sound works for youtube and other stuff, it's just the DAW's audio doesnt work unless i have the laptop built in microphone set
i was getting latency at one point but i think it was because i was on battery power. once i got it working i forgot i even had the issue in the first place. Thank you so much!!!!
As soon as I downloaded the software it made every sound on my PC very scratchy and distorted.

Thanks, this works nicely. I am using it to play guitar and listen to the song I am playing on youtube . I am a noob so I am not sure how to say this but it seems to change the tone of my guitar also set the volume lower for some instruments in the youtube song. Do you know what configuration is needed to keep the original sounds?

I have no audio interface. I use a stereo cable that connects the pedalboard to the PC through the microphone input. When I record on Reaper, the sound is more or less tolerable. The problem is when I try to record a second track, for example lead guitar, while the rhythm plays. The sound of the recording is very distorted, with a horrible quality. This also happens if I turn on the metronome. It seems that the recording is affected when the pc produces sound at the same time. I formatted my pc a little while ago, and it seems to have solved the problem, however, I don't know how the problem came back. On the other hand, if you try to record in FL Studio, the sound is always bad. I don't know if it's any Asio problem. When I say that the sound is bad I refer for example to the sound of certain videos that are on youtube with poor quality where the sound comes out all distorted full of interference. Please I need help.
