    I’ve owned a 2020 LT AWD since new and now have almost 23k miles on her. I can honestly say that it’s an awesome vehicle! I have 2 kids with one of them having played travel softball and is now in college. It was perfect hauling softball equipment, a cooler, a pop up tent, and luggage whenever we traveled for tournaments - and that’s with the third row up. Now, we’re using our Traverse to take our daughter to and from college which is a 2 1/2 hour drive. Our Traverse is super comfortable and very practical. One of the most underrated aspects of this SUV is the 3.6L V6. At 310 HP, it’s the most powerful vehicle I’ve ever driven on a daily basis (even more powerful than my ‘94 Impala SS) which makes it a lot of fun to drive on the highway. No, this is not a luxury SUV like BMW or Audi or Cadillac. It’s a Chevy. It’s a practical vehicle with good value. That’s what I was looking for, so that’s what I purchased - no more, no less. As long as you realize that, you’ll be a satisfied owner. I highly recommend it👍👍!

      Well said!! Purchased the 23 redline premier, SO happy I went with it over the competition. No, it doesn't have every single tech feature other brands have, but it doesn't matter, most of them are gimmicks anyway. It does have all the latest features you "actually" need with arguably the best performance and simplicity of the bunch. Nothing is annoying, and everything has quick and easy access! I wanted a nice, comfortable family car that was SPACIOUS, and had enough tech to feel up to date for awhile, which it does incredibly well. For example, the telluride doesnt have wireless carplay, car seat tilt, or an electronic adjusting steering wheel used with the memory seat settings. Those features alone are so underrated!! For some reason reviewers focus more on unnecessary things like heads up display (smh). While its not up to super "luxury" standards, the comfort, looks, ride quality, features and space it does provide are fantastic. LOVING it so much!

    I picked up a new 2023 LS AWD just before the end of the year. I am coming from a Chrysler Town and Country that was great. I love the space, drive and practicality of this vehicle. The powertrain is so smooth and powerful. I have coached soccer for 13 years and have tons of gear and people here and there. I am averaging 21-22 mpg in combined driving. 27 on hwy with AWD off. I Received a 1k Chevy rebate and 1k Costco rebate at time of purchase when I offered invoice. I am really happy with my purchase.

    I've owned an LS Traverse since Jan 2023... I cross shopped with SUV's at similar and higher price points, as well as the Suburban, and a few vans. The only vehicles that didn't feel gutless were the Suburban (which was way too expensive, especially with markups), the Metris (which I liked but didn't really need), and the Traverse. Also the LS Traverse doesn't force you into a leather steering wheel which I love. I thoroughly enjoy driving this car.
    I may be backwards from many folks but I have smaller cars for my commute, and this one is my weekend fun car. Drove it on a 250 mile round trip the other day and it was sublime. 26.5 mpg.
    I get the issues with the High Country, but the LS seems priced very well for what you get. Thank you.

    I don't know what you're talking about. It is the best-looking midsize of its class. Sporty and sleek. The engine sounds amazing in my ears. All the layout is perfectly laid out nice in the right spot. I have the 2018 LT AWD. The sound system is spot on perfect to my ears. I added carbon fiber plastic trim to all the interior and it looks amazing, much more premium with the fake realistic carbon fiber trim on it. This is my baby. I just love the overall look. There is plenty of space and cargo for hauling things. This traverse is what I had been looking for in an SUV. There's nothing I can think of that is bad other then that it looks great. Not like other midsize suv out there that either has too many cheesy interior and odd lay out both exterior and interior. This 2nd gen traverse is the one and only nest of both world. Nothing looks cheesy I can tell you that.

    Friend has a GMC Acadia Denali AWD. Where the Chevy looks plain on the interior, the GMC makes up for it and it has the HUD. In '24 GM is expected to upgrade the interior. I do like the fact the steering wheel adjustments are motorized. GM is also replacing the V6 with a 2.5 Turbo. They also have the option of switching from AWD to FWD which he mentions. A little odd unless the system will switch it over if you lose grip. I will say this, at low speeds, the Acadia stayed flat around the curves. IDK.

    I drive one of these every few months when I go visit family. A 2020 LT. I have to say it’s not a bad car. The driving dynamics of it are nice. Suspension is pretty soft. Steering feels good. Brakes aren’t the worst but I’ve felt better. The things I hate on it the most are the engine transmission and infotainment screen. Which are the 3 biggest things on the car. The engine take a full business day to respond to throttle but once it gets going, it certainly goes. The transmission shifts aren’t great. I often find it’s hunting for a gear. It often leads to an aggressive thunk of it shifting. I find it to be fine at higher speeds but the transmission doesn’t know what the hells it’s doing at lower speeds or in traffic. And the last thing is the infotainment screen. When it works, it’s fine. But it often doesn’t work and I’m constantly getting a message saying the system is busy whenever I try to do anything. And with these engines not being all that reliable, it’s hard to recommend. For this price I expect a lot more because these are luxury car prices for a non luxury car. If you have the car I’m sure it’s fine and you like it. But unless you buy one used with low miles and cheap and drive it till the wheels fall off, it’s hard to recommend. Keep in mind the one I drive only has 42k miles on it. It needed a new alternator at 39 😬😬. Doesn’t inspire confidence for reliability

  • @joevwgti.
    @joevwgti. ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Great job presenting without laughing in the middle of it, especially when talking about the price, or when you had to do the merge onto the highway. I've absolutely no idea how GM can make SUCH a giant interior, feel so claustrophobic behind the wheel. How can a door be 8" thick?..and why? hehe.

      Just change the oil often and keep an eye on the level between changes. Timing chains only go bad on these because they had a tendency to burn oil and ran low on it between changes. That smaller amount of oil ended up running too hot, lost it's lubricating and cooling properties and causes the chain to run hot stretching it.

      I'll never understand it. Aside from their performance cars (which I actually like), pretty much every "normal" Chevy has a worse interior, and on top of that, worse reliability than nearly all of its competitors.

      Like what? Can't get a telluride. Even if you could, it's still missing major daily used features as well like the digital mirror, car seat tilt, wireless CarPlay, can't tow due to recalls. Every other competitor in its class has nowhere near the space the traverse has, there all a joke. Honda pilot just came out, im
      Sure there's a big wait list on that, and the atlas is a horrible car. Minivan would be great...but they don't tow. So the Traverse is the winner imo

      That's the problem. It competes with great SUV's in its class at the same price points. BWM X3, Telluride, Highlander etc.. Heck you can even get a base Toyota sequoia SR5 with a 4.6 litre V8 at this price. And that SUV will be driving around 15 years after this crap is in the dump. This would be a good rental car but nobody should to sink their own money into. The only GM SUV's that I respect are the body on frame full size that have RWD. None of their FWD cars or SUV's are worth a crap. Zero.

      In comparison to the telluride. You can get the awd premier for 48k new with incentives. It's bigger. It has car seat tilt for easy access. It also has "wireless" CarPlay. Has the digital mirror, which is only offered on tellurides highest trim. Has automatic steering wheel adjustment that works with memory setting. Those are highly used daily features the telluride does not have, let's not forget about those just because it has a nicer screen. And the tellurides right now are not available, can't get a tow package due to recall, and we'll over msrp with a year long wait.

    So when people say they want an interior upgrade, are they speaking of going from buttons and plastic, to everything touch and maybe a slight upgrade from the hard plastic TPU in the interior design? I guess I’m cool with the interior because I don’t see where there is much more that can be done. Of course, I’ve watched videos from the LS to the High Country, and in that regard, everything looks the same aside from maybe the top tier models having more bells and whistles. I just recently purchased the 2023 traverse 1LT, and to be honest, my 2022 equinox had a few more bells and whistles and it was the same trim level. I am “ok” with some of the amenities I lost such as the heated steering wheel and I no longer have the 360 camera system which I thought was strange, but overall, I really love my 2023 traverse and am considering possibly adding the 360 camera. I would also consider mine to be a luxury SVU, but that’s just me LOL! I have the black mosaic with the midnight package so it’s black on black with awesome 18inch black rims! I plan to keep it for at least 7-8 years unless I get another deal!

  • @ATRichard
    @ATRichard ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Good review, but for $55k Traverse is getting long in the tooth. “Decent” just doesn’t cut it when you’re going up against a refreshed Telluride (which was already considered to be the best beforehand), refreshed Palisade, new Jeep GC-L, an all-new Honda Pilot, the Toyota Grand Highlander is coming soon and the regular Highlander isn’t bad… 2024 Traverse redesign can’t come soon enough.

    • @HiPlains1
      @HiPlains1 ปีที่แล้ว

      Even my 2019 BMW X3 trashes this thing all day long. And its loaded and I paid 47K. Very little plastics and the interior destroys this thing. It will also destroy this performance wise with the twin turbo and the ZF 8 speed trans on the rear wheels with X drive. My 10 inch display and instrument cluster makes this look old. It don't have third row but other then that the leg room is better on the Bimmer on the second row. GM's in house 9 speed is not the greatest. I mean for 55K this needs a decent rear drive transmission. This is way over priced for what it is. You can get a nice German SUV with loads more tech quality or even a telluride which is basically a copy of BMW since they harvested allot of BMW engineers. GM should use their new 2.7 turbo and the redesigned 8 speed RWD with AWD . This is just a glorified mini van in a bad way.
