And honestly I think he does his solos better live, his tone is always sorta "off" to me on records, but seeing DT live and hearing him here his live tone is perfect
Those guys clapping at 2:42 are living the moment, how it should be. The guys in the back are the guitar critics, which I can't relate if they are enjoying a bit what Mr Petrucci is playing. This solo is fantastic! Thanx for uploading this one!
Such amazing tone and feeling, let alone technical proficiency. Always been in my top 2 most influential guitarists along with David Gilmore of course being at the top for me. Love his ibanez days as well with Kevin at the keyboard.. good times
What I wanna know is why he sounds so much better live than on the records, like gear/recording wise Heard him live once with DT and it sounded amazing, like basically my ideal large venue guitar tone but then on most records since FII or so it just sounds....empty or so, at least when he's trying to play "emotionally/epic"....guess the ending of Octavarium might be an exception to this, although it would probably still sound better live
@@tomschmidt4355 Sorry; about who? I think I have almost all Pink Floyd and for sure all Dream Theatre albums, both John solo and all three Liquid tension experiment albums. And, by the way, I saw John three times live

How can people say Petrucci doesn’t have feeling when playing solos , he always touches my soul with his solos
People listen to one song and base his entire style off of it. John is awesome. His slow stuff is the best of the best. He can do it all!
People are jealous of genius.

He is AMAZING🥰🙌🏻
His face is amazing in this solo!
A Dramatic turn of events is a. Great album

Shawn Lane, Allan Holdsworth, Gutrhie Govan, Jason Becker. I prefer these!

John Petrucci > GOD
жесточайший проё6 звукорежиссера, задавил Джордана и зашкалил ГодТруччи
John is just a very, very thinny step behind the guitarist with best feeling ever- Mr.Dave Gilmoure.

can anyone tell me which specific jp model is this? bfr1? bfr2? jpx? jp11? jp12? jp13?
It's JP11 with custom paint job
JP12 is only in red(Cherry sugar) in this concert
and that time there was no JP13 yet.
What kind of jp model is he using? The green one?
Killa.
That tone man 🤤. Can someone help me with what kind of effects he's using. And is there some kind of modulation he's using?
chorus - distortion - delay - I'm not sure if he's using reverb or not, probably yes. And he may've used the 20db boost of his Majesty.
