What I wanna know is why he sounds so much better live than on the records, like gear/recording wise Heard him live once with DT and it sounded amazing, like basically my ideal large venue guitar tone but then on most records since FII or so it just sounds....empty or so, at least when he's trying to play "emotionally/epic"....guess the ending of Octavarium might be an exception to this, although it would probably still sound better live

@@tomschmidt4355 Sorry; about who? I think I have almost all Pink Floyd and for sure all Dream Theatre albums, both John solo and all three Liquid tension experiment albums. And, by the way, I saw John three times live

I am a guitarist but i tell you, I watch John Myung a hell of a lot...what a fucking master!! But then...everyone in this band is..but I can say I am not a fan of the singer, my old singer sounded exactly like him and every song he did, sounded the same just like JL.
