hi brian, have been looking for a demo &schematic for weeks now as i am for new to dcc.clear&consice, easy to understand, can't thank you enough for your time to share&help others.i have a friend whom has a video on you tube that doesn't use the reversing module&it seems to work right ,but i know that there is a reverse loop in the system &don;t want to take a chance of burning a decoder or more out especially using a 5 amp booster..will play it safe &use a digitrax ar-1 auto reverser. regards&later KEATIN
The reversing module is not absolutely necessary. Direction can be controlled with turntable controller but has to be correct or you create a short. The reversing module makes sure you always get it right...
Hi Brian, how have you been? Great video. I have the same kato turntable and when I installed it I had no problems. Time passed and I installed a booster and that's when some problems began. The turntable bridge is energized, however, when the locomotives enter it, they lose contact with the central station (they do nothing). I have checked the cables and everything, and there are no voltage problems. The turntable was left in the booster area. Digitrax central and booster use (DB150 and 100 respectively) Could you help me??? Thank you so much.
Hi mi friend. am I again. I would like to ask about the polarity of the power supply that article 20-283 must use, since I bought one at auction and did not consider this element. + inside or outside? Thank you very much.
Brian Do you stock Any of the MRC AD520's course i heard that any Reverser will Work i like that NCE has incorporated a Circuit Breaker in there Auto Reverser but i like the click of the MRC as Well let's you know its Working.. If you have them in Stock or could sell the one you demonstrated what how much is the S&H and do you Except a Pre-payed Credit cards or Debit cards thank Sir.. This Video is & your other Video on the Turntable is Very Informative to me even though its a few years old it still has tons of Value... Allen D N scale Modler
Hello friend, great video. A query. How do you energize the track over the bridge? The source you use is dc, therefore that section of track should be energized by dc or am I wrong??? Thank you very much.
I'm new to DCC and thus still learning. Can you control (rotate) the Kato Turntable with your DCC controller? If so, what is needed to do this? Thanks, Kevin
I am sure it is possible but I have not studied the exact process. I would guess you will need a mobile decoder to be able to control the voltage to the table motor. The unknown is what method or mechanism they are using to slow and stop the bridge at each stall track.
Have you connected the Kato Turntable to an ESU ECoS system? I would like to add this in to my layout but I'm confused about how it integrates. The ECoS has a very fast cutout circuit. I think it would short faster than the reversing unit you have here. I read the "simple" installation and was under the impression that no power wires needed to be connected to the stall tracks. You show a feeder line in the diagram. What is the best way for me?
www.sbs4dcc.com/tutorialstipstricks/katoturntabledcccontrol.html Here some additional info you might find useful including alternative wiring. You can use any model of reverser. As I stated, I used what I had available.
Sorry I do not. Unfortunately I am not able to get those any longer. I have a solution I am working on but nothing I am able to offer at this time. Thanks for watching.
Sweet. What engine have you got here? Looks like an SD60M. Cool video, thanks for posting it. May have to get one of these turntables. I was under the impression turntables were only used for steamers, I guess I was wrong.
Almost worth the insane price to set this up! :)
Thanks for posting this Brian, Mike

StreamlinedBackshop Thanks so much Brian. That is a great description.
Thanks
Ahh! checked the Page said it doesn't exist with a 404 understandable but like to have seen the info..
Thanks for the great how to! How long is the turntable bridge? Trying to figure out how many of my steam engines will fit

Very helpful and reassuring, especially for a novice like myself.

Mike, Like your technical brief, but can you use a tripod or hard mount while filming. i get seasick watching all of the bouncing around.
Can you eliminate the controller and use SPROG III/JMRI to control the turntable as well as power?

Does Kato have any plans to release an HO turntable?

Do you have a video on how to install a beacon in a N scale engine such as your 80mac in the video and maybe the product? Thanks,

can you adapt standard Atlas track onto the turntable track sections?
you could use a 20-045 to easily adapt atlas to any section of kato unitrack.
Nice video. Thanks for sharing I liked and subbed to your channel 😃

What autoreversing unit are you using?
i used the mrc ad520 but any will work.
