My 2008 Saturn Aura XR 3.6 tops out at a measly 115 from the factory. Does 0-60 in 5.6 sec and is pretty quick on the highway, too. I've beaten plenty of cars, only to have them chase me down as I stall out at that paltry 115... Based on it doing 76 @ 2k rpm, it should be able to do at least 150, and my tires are W rated so 115 is a total, complete JOKE. I'd LOVE to at least raise the limit to at least 140. By then I'm so far in front they won't be catching up anytime soon anyway...
Lol get a GPS to find out your actual top speed, easily if your speedo is maxed out. Anyway I don't think you'll reach 150 MPH on flat road...not all vehicles have the power to hit that speed with the governor removed.
@@7150285 The 149mph is from testing by a car mag. with the governor removed. Stock it only goes 115 because the T rated tires it came with. It now has W rated ones but I can't find anyone who will raise the speed. 115 is pretty lame when you can beat that in 4th with 2 more gears to go. I'd be happy with 130-135 truth be told. The car is pretty quick, kinda sucks to be pulling decent and at 115 it stops going faster lol
@@SportsMusicCars you have W rated tire. That means your tires could sustain all the way up to speeds of 168 MPH.
Anyway even with your governor removed, you most likely still wouldn't hit that speed, at least not stock. You can go to a tuning shop or buy an OBD II tuner/scanner to remove the governor, if you know how to...or tuning shop could do it for you.
@@SportsMusicCars like I said, you "won't" know your vehicle's actual top speed unless you actually try to top it out...just because online "claim" it could do that top speed doesn't necessarily mean (your particular car) CAN indeed reach that speed. UNLESS you do an actual top speed run (on flat level ground road) yourself to find out...people do top speed run all the time because they want to find out how fast their vehicle actually can go...and USE GPS, because even car's speedometer could be off some times ESPECIALLY at higher speed like above triple digits speeds...

I would set the governor to 65 no reason you need to be going faster than that most Trucking Company set their trucks 65 65 will save fuel
It depends also on the state, but our freightliner Cascadias were set to 72 mph. You do need more room for passing in emergencies

Danny Johnson I just used cheap tires on my car they are cheap Delentes factory ones those sucked for Michelin. Here in San Diego I get a lot of flats so no reason to spend more than $70 per tire installed

BECAUSE you have to think of safety on different aspects. If they get trapped passing a semi with someone behind them and a car appears on the horizon you don’t want to box them in! You can’t predict all situations and car manufactures draw a line somewhere. Some cars at 115, so there may be a valid situation you’re not considering.

Yes. The sct ones are for ford and GM. They have the ability to remove the limiter and read codes. They are just a little more strict on emissions now. Keep in mind most all terrain tires are not rated for high speeds, so a tire blowout is usually why companies set limiters on vehicles.
