UK Level Crossings With Halogen Warning Lights (2017) Compilation.
Each crossing has been filmed by me and I have made a list below of the crossings featured;

What used to be still fairly common 10 - 15 years ago seems pretty rare nowadays.
Yeah, it's considered rare to see halogens nowadays

Great compilation video UK Railway Hub and Happy Birthday! I much prefer incandescent signals for two reasons; I find them more visually appealing and the 'fade' between signals provide a more noticeable change in signal for motorists and thus a longer time to react accordingly.
Thanks NSC! Its sad to see Rainham's (Kent) halogens going end of this October and the rest will follow with time. I do agree these halogens are pleasing to watch, although I do like LED sets as-well. Thanks for your comment :) ;)

I liked the old halogen no barrier one I think in a lane somewhere in Nofolk but can’t remember the name but it so rare and nice to see that halogen with that alarm still going high timer and kind of nice and the wonky dirty halogen wig wag it’s nice to see something rare ah yes looked at description it said that Norfolk one is sweetbriar lane it just cozy and old fashioned area it will be sad to see that led has disrupted that feeling

@0:58 The lights stopped after the gates lowered! That's not how they're supposed to work! @3:06 Just sounded a single short whistle! In the US, it's two long whistles, one short, then one more long when approaching a crossing...
That crossing is opened on request so the lights are turned off when the crossing is lowered. Horns are not used much in the UK as much as the US
I suspect that in built-up areas there are restrictions on the use of the horn. UK is six times more densely populated than the US
@@ianmoseley9910 there are such restrictions in built-up areas in the US as well. The crossings in those areas carry signs that say "No Train Horn."
and also when the yellow/orange light is on, why does the alarm still sound?
That's always how UK crossings have operated. As soon as the crossing is activated, the lights turn on and alarms sound

Halogen lights are not very common in the UK as compared with the USA

How many of these still exist?
Not a lot now. Majority have had LED upgrades. However, there are still an odd few left currently on the mainline, and heritage railways still have a few.

What do you mean? The crossing at 02:05 is blocked off for traffic. It's a railway maintenance road. It's mainly used by pedestrians crossing the line.
