as a spanish person, i'm sure you would love the philippines because you'd still see the spanish influence that are still present.....you'd see churches everywhere...the road names are in spanish...the places are in spanish..peoples'names are in spanish...a lot of words are still in spanish...the country's name is from king philip 11 of spain hence philippines....so yeah, you'd love it there...

Our ninuno only named their places or region not the entire country. But the first name of the pilipinas is "maniolas" . maniolas was name on the map of geographic alexiandra by cluadius plotemy from 90-168 AD.
The Spaniards wanted the gold and forced there culture on the Philippines, The name of the country before the Spaniards came along and conquered the country was ‘The Kingdom of Maharlika. Means “The Land of Creation”. And fun fact, when the Spaniards first tried conquering the country they were defeated by hand and hand and sword combat. Even with their metal shields, while the natives was mostly naked. So the Spaniards came back shortly with guns and armors. Because they couldn’t fight and conquer the natives without there guns. They felt inferior. But that’s not in your history books.

@@movieshortclips2607 Yes, that is true that they colonized and occupied us for more than 300 years. But the Spanish Government never taught or included us in any government affairs. It was the Americans who taught us on how to govern.
I dont know if tell now philippines had a strong economic or political bond with spain.its long time since the spain leaders(queen/king/prince or princess)visit the philippines.
I used to travel outside of the Philippines often..until I discovered the beauty of my own Country.

I can feel the tears running down my cheeks. I can only imagine in you, what my two great grandfathers must have thought and said. My other great grandfather came from Spain and stayed in Pampanga. There, he and his sisters, cousins and other relatives stayed and farmed the land. Some got married to Filipinas and when the Spanish-American war came to an end, some of my great grandfather's relatives opted to stay in the Philippines, and some went back to Spain.

the Philippines was named after King Philip II of Spain in honor for him,, Majority of the people are Catholic and deep root of Spanish Name and also the province has Spanish , so no wonder Filipino people has still a strong bonding with Spain because 400 years under Spain was hard to forget... They are our great great lolos and lolas..

I was fortunate to have visited Spain from Germany sometime ago. I was in Germany for work and on one of my vacations in Europe, I decided to try Spain for the famous beaches. The sights are amazing, on my way to Costa Del Sol and my destination, Costa Brava. I rented a villa on top of the hill near the beach (so much cheaper than staying in a hotel). I would say that it was one of my best vacation ever. The people were nice, food excellent (the paella was terrific) found the local market and the seafood provided excellent choices at affordable prices. You will find similar things in the Philippines, I was born in Manila but have not travelled much there as I was a full time student at the time. If you go there you will find it that most will go out of their way to help you, the hospitality is amazing, see it for your self and make sure you document the visit in your vlog.

@12:06 yes it is paella. Philippines used to be a Spanish colony. Culture and food is similar to 19th century Spanish culture. And also if you visit to the Philippines to be particular in Zamboanga, you will completely understand Chavacano dialect. It's a creo based Spanish dialect.

Ive always come home every yr for vacation in the philipppines,, its my paradise home island , i grow up in Philippines and lived in an island ,loved swimming in the ocean ,,soo many beaches ,beautiful everywhere .❤️ ..I’m sure you will enjoy The Philippines and probably wanna live there 😊..if you visit make sure at least 4 weeks ,because 3 weeks is not enough ...or you can always ask for visa extention at the Philippine embassy
