The 15-Point, 4th-Quarter Comeback in Game 7. One way or another, it was going to be one of the craziest comebacks in NBA history. After falling behind 3-1 in the 2000 Western Conference Finals, Portland had rallied to force Game 7, which it led by 15 with only 10:28 remaining

Watching that comeback and topping it off with the Kobe to Shaq alley oop was the greatest moment a fan could ever have. Games in the 80s-90s-points not decades. Sorry but that isn’t as fun to watch. They didn’t even guard the 3pt line because most of them couldn’t shoot it that well. It’s insane that it took decades for players/coaches to realized 3>2. Teams like the Warriors dynasty, Spurs ‘14, and Heat dynasty would run both of these teams off the floor. People stuck in the past don’t agree, but they would be wrong. Don’t misunderstand, I enjoy watching and appreciating these great teams of the past, but they couldn’t compete with dominant teams of the past decade.

I remember there were media outlets saying Lakers fans were like, fairweather fans, and they cited two reasons. 1 - because the bleachers would be only half full sometimes at the very start of a game, and 2 - the crowd noise. And the media failed to ever mention that 1 - Try getting into LA after work, and you'll know why fans showed up late, it's a nightmare. And 2 - The Staples Center acoustics were meant to quiet crowd noise, so the game could be picked up better for broadcasts.
I've lived in a few cities with good basketball teams. Lakers are my home team, and I'll say this, they have the most passionate fans.

This was my favorite Lakers basketball game. Portland was stacked. The Lakers had character players like Horry, Shaw, Harper, Fisher, and Rice but it was all Shaq and Kobe. Portland was the deeper team. Sabonis was the only center that could body Shaq. Rasheed, Pippin, Statamire, Bozin Wells, they were a great team but Shaq and Kobe are the best Big Small combo of all time.

If not for horrible coaching and the refs giving the lakers so many favorable calls. Pippen with more miles on him than the entire Lakers starting 5 with a ton of injuries including HALF A Back!!... Portland led by Pippen the most complete player Ever, would've beaten the 67 win Lakers. Jermaine O'neal went to Pacers the following year average 20ppg 10reb was and allstar on a 60 win team. Plz tell me why he barely touched the court although he played well. Pippen was the best player on the court in two of the Blazers wins in the series. He just was to old and injured to sustain Pip was well out of his prime.
