I work in the tech department at Target. It’s mostly old people who hear these rumors and are deeply concerned about brain, cancer or brain tumors from AirPods. One of them lectured me for a good minute or two. I’m trying to be nice and not condescending and I understand their fears but sometimes misinformation gets out of control a little bit.
When I worked as a bagger at a supermarket, an older lady came through my line buying a ton of organic produce, and complaining that it was so expensive. "It is," I agreed, "the conventional produce is much cheaper, if you'd like me to go exchange those for you?" "No no," she said. She insisted she *couldn't* buy conventional, because "they have GMOs and I'm allergic to GMOs." Now, I had just graduated from uni at that point (hadn't gotten my first full-time job yet), and though my degree is in computer science, I'd switched to that from studying biomedical engineering with a focus on researching gene therapies for cancers. So I know a little bit more than non-sciency people about GMOs, and knew being "allergic to GMOs" isn't really a thing, because GMOs aren't really one thing. So I asked politely, "Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. Which GMOs are you allergic to?" Her response, as you can imagine, was, "All of them! I get very sick if I eat any GMOs!" I didn't continue the conversation, because I decided there was no way she'd listen anyway, but... it made me sad. Someone, somewhere had manipulated this poor old lady into spending money she didn't have -- money that likely went straight into the pockets of the organic producers who perpetuate such myths -- by making her afraid that any and all fruits and vegetables that aren't made by them will make her ill. They scared an old woman out of her money with modern-day Frankenstein stories. That should be illegal. So I know the feeling of having customers think they know what they're talking about, but really don't, trying to justify their purchasing habits to themselves and to you.
Lol I didn't get the Nofication for some reason when I have it turn on. But I just see this video being uploading today just now while I have my phone bluetooth connect to a soundbar and subwoofer and the subwoofer is connect to the soundbar wireless. So I am using two things that dangerous. Lol.
GASP!!! A doctor who stuck to the research without going all the way over to one side or the other and denigrating the other side just clearing stating the pros and cons of each side? Well color me impressed. Well done.
Please, please do a video about laundry and dishwasher detergents! I've heard so many claims that make it sound like their impact on hormones could be serious due to the fact these are used so often in our daily lives! Would love to know the truth! Thank you for doing this series, it's been awesome 😊
As an Electronics Engineer with background on RF and a human with common sense I can say that high volume on headphones and lifestyle changes that come usually with cellphone addiction will have a much bigger impact on your health.
Another embedded systems engineer here. If you can believe that bluetooth power level devices can give you cancer, then you probably believe that microwaving your food makes it radioactive ☢️
Yeah, I'm an electrician and I'm in high RF areas regularly so you'd think if this were close to true sparkys would have higher cancer rates. And people working in television and radio. Thinking this through as I write, people living next to a cell tower or radio station should have clusters of cancer diagnosis.
This was my first thought - association. Maybe people who use phones more are also more likely to have a sedentary life, or eat an entire bag of Cheetos each night.
The overuse of devices like cell phones and PCs...particularly for social media, one can argue, is FAR more unhealthy and damaging to our mental/emotional health compared to risks to our physical health.
I randomly found your channel some time ago and found your videos entertaining. And I appreciate you touching on topics like this and potentially harmful health trends. Medical misinformation and sensationalism is really bad on social media right now.
I just had a conversation last week with my mom who kept saying airpods put you at risk of radiation not to dunk on my mom but she believes a lot of things with very little research, so thank you for being able to clear things up for me at least
this really only takes at most an hour of research for most doctors who know where to look for the evidence they want. i doubt dr mike read thru entire papers and probably just scanned the abstracts of some of the more highly regarded papers, then maybe looked at the "findings" section if it wasn't clear enough.
I said it in the first video. This is a very important series for him to make "Doc Mike is the perfect person to make a series like this. He's educated, reputable, and he has good common sense and don't scare monger. He uses facts paird with nuance."
@@ross-carlson I reckon this is a paradox of science-and-related communicators - the more popular they grow, a higher portion of the audience is going to be anti-science and critical thinking and sail through the content on confirmation bias. Leading to high quality, high reach content, with a comment section split between thoughtful discussion and Internet tripe! My hope is that little bits of sensible & critical thinking are getting through to a few people - heck at least they're exposing themselves to content they might not agree with, I guess!
those who are too far gone will probably believe whatever the conspiracy theorists tell them; this series is for those who are _adjacent_ to the nutjobs, who sometimes get sent these facebook misinfo stuff and are too busy to look up the facts themselves. for them, being subbed to dr mike and getting the debunks in bite-sized chunks sent straight into their notifs might be the way to go.
As a physicist, I have to make an important clarification. Yes, the energy of an electromagnetic wave is proportional to its frequency. But that doesn't mean low frequency waves can't be energetic : you just got to raise the amplitude of the wave. For example, infrared waves are low frequency compared to UVs. Yet an oven is infrared, so is a CO2 laser capable of cutting through wood or metal. Even lower frequency you're gonna have microwaves, which cook your meals... This is why there was regulation put into place for 4G/5G towers, because their energy is quite high despite the low frequency. The low frequency is used because the lower the frequency, the easier it can penetrate things like walls, cars, etc... This is why radiowaves are so good at being transmitted very far and through various objects, and why longer radiowaves such as AM stations will go through a tunnel and you can keep listening to them in your car, but shorter radiowaves such as FM stations won't. And at the core of the reason why it's so hard to predict cancers from EM waves : we simply cannot predict how they interact with individual cells. There is simply too much stuff we don't know yet about our own biology. We don't even know why cells produce extracellular vesicles for example. Yet if you tickle cells with EM waves or acoustic waves with sufficient energy, they're gonna produce vesicles... All we can do is have good practice with cell phones which have been recommanded for years: do not put them to your ears for a long time, especially for young children. Use speaker phone instead. For headphones and headsets, maybe don't buy bluetooth for children but wired devices, with an audio cable. Adults have a thicker cranium that usually protects them more efficiently from waves. But still, if you're gonna use them for like 10+ hours a day, maybe buy wired not wireless...
As a graduate researcher in Life Sciences, I love how you go in depth with the studies performed and discuss much of the nuance. When I hear these kinds of claims it's easy for me to want to just say "you're wrong". But these videos help me to understand more fully the claims, why they exist, and the evidence for and against and it also helps me to be better equipped to have an informed discussion with others. I look forward to watching more of these!
If bluetooth in general is potentially dangerous, I'll take it. My medical devices use it and to have better control of my diabetes and not have burn out, it's worth it as the amount of time I have to focus on my bloodsugar and giving insulin is waaaaaaaay less time consuming after nearly 30 years of dealing with it.
All visible light contains more energy than 3g, 4g and 5g waves. So if your phones wifi is killing you, make sure to also throw away all your light bulbs and block your windows xD.
You forgot about blackbody radiation, things that are just at room temperature are emitting infrared radiation with 100,000x greater energy per photon than typical cell phone and Bluetooth emission. That includes yourself, including the individual molecules, cells, and organs inside your body. The inside of your skull is emitting electromagnetic radiation that runs into your brain, one part of your brain is emitting electromagnetic radiation that runs into another part of your brain, even the nuclear membrane inside every cell is emitting electromagnetic radiation that runs into your DNA.
@LordEide electromagnetic radiation in the visible light spectrum can't penetrate your skin though, so isn't reaching your brain, whereas longer wavelengths penetrate more deeply into tissues or pass completely through the body. bluetooth is most definitely safe as it's so low powered, it's the cell phone use over years that i'm more worried about. i try to use speakerphone or bt earbuds when i can so the phone isn't right next to my head much
I used to like this guy until this exact video. He’s a moron. He has no idea what he’s sputtering out of his mouth. Zero education in this area and he’s just done so much harm it’s laughable. One of possibly the safest technologies in cell phones he’s a proponent to block. Zero evidence backing up it’s dangerous. He claims he’s anti this exact thing in the medical field. Lmfao
I bought a 2002 Prius in 2020, and one day I started it up while my grandpa was on a phone call nearby. The moment I turned the key, the engine spooled up and the call dropped simultaneously.
@@aspecreviews that may be because it's a hybrid. So it has a dynamo or alternator specifically for generating electricity to charge the battery. It's bigger than your normal alternator so it will put out more EMF. I'm a mechanic but I don't really work on hybrids much, so I may be wrong. But electric motors are basically alternators but instead of generating electricity by being turned, they're turned using electricity and magnets. They generate frequencies as well when they're on and turning
Love your content! Small correction - 1:16 most of the Sun’s UV radiation that reaches the Earth is non-ionising as the ionising far-UV is filtered out by the atmosphere.
I'm sure there's a paper floating around somewhere that sets out how anything can be considered harmful by one metric or another! Too much of anything is a bad thing, it's all about moderation. But unfortunately moderation does not engaging headlines make 😂
Remember to sign the petition to ban dihydrogen-monoxide. High levels of it can be toxic, or result in oxygen deprivation. It's known to be among the most lethal substances on the planet. ^_^
Too much water can kill you. And we're not talking about drinking a bathtub, but just an amount you could easily have too much of on a hot day with too much physical activity.
This is a topic regularly on my mind. I can’t express how appreciative I am to have dr Mike (and team) to have the expertise, reputation, and awareness to address this topic that is so relevant to millions of us. Dude, thank you!
The amount of time and effort that must have been put in to make this video is INSANE. I work in research and I cannot believe how fluidly he analyzes research and is able to explain it in such simple terms. It would take WEEKS for me to compile and analyze sources for a video like this. You’re awesome and thanks for inspiring me Dr. Mike!!
Well done doctor Mike! This video was so well done! I can't tell you how many concerned mothers and aunts I've had to give this exact mini lesson to. I graduated tech school with a degree in electronics and worked with industrial machines that emitted x-rays and high level RF for a decade and your explanations and graphics were on point. The part that really helps click for them I've found is to be honest and admit that there may be danger there, but as you stated, the fact that there have been dozens if not hundreds of studies looking for danger but cannot establish a clear link suggests that it's probably not worth worrying about, there are so many other things to be more worried about first. In fact, I have a Geiger counter at home to play with as a hobby, most people are surprised to see that cell phones emit no ionizing radiation, but their granite countertops and ceramic dishes do (low/safe levels to be clear). Another thing that I find so cool and mind-blowing is that radio waves and infra red and uv and x-rays are literally the exact same thing as visible light. Uv and x-rays are dangerous because they are a high enough energy (frequency) above visible light (especially x-rays since they are ionizing). But radio (including cell phones) and IR are less energy than visible light, and nobody is running around freaking out about visible light being dangerous (unless you are a vampire). Also, to be clear, low energy light radiation (visible light and below, like IR, microwave, and radio) can still be harmful if it's wattage or your proximity to the source is close enough. For example, is the light emitting from a 60w lightbulb harmful? Most people would say no, but now hold your hand an inch away from the bulb and see how long you can keep it there before your hand heats up enough to start burning. And that effect would happen faster or from further away if you used a brighter/higher wattage bulb. For context, the wattage of a cell phone transmitter (think of it literally as a light bulb) is 3w at most during a pulse of transmission, only equivalent to 0.25w when averaged.
@@undefinederror40404 yes, higher frequency/wavelength means higher energy. Visible light is around 400nm(nanometers) to 700nm. Infrared/heat is about 780nm and 1mm microwaves are from around 1mm to 1m. And radio waves are 1m to hundreds of km. X-ray is 10nm to 0.01nm And gamma rays is everything smaller. Take this with a grain of salt. I am only a science enthusiast and don’t really know that much. This might also be very simplified.
@@undefinederror40404 Yeah! Think about the phrase "electromagnetic spectrum". Electricity, magnetism, and light are all pretty much the same thing. Radio waves are light that falls outside of our vision. So are x-rays and UV rays. When they say "waves" they mean it literally. Big waves, like radio waves and visible light, are mostly harmless. Small waves, like ultraviolet (UV) and gamma, are tighter and have more energy, which are small enough to vibrate and damage things like cells and DNA. That's why we need to wear sunblock outdoors, but not indoors. Lightbulbs don't emit highly energetic UV light, but the sun does!
From a physics standpoint you can not exclude background radiation from man made and natural sources from any studies like it because it far out scale the energy and amount than the low range radiation from Bluetooth. Basically if RF is a cancer threat than i would be more worried about the living to close to a radio tower than my Bluetooth headset.
and also from a physics standpoint, if the em radiation emitted from phones and bluetooth devices, caused cancer, then we should be living like vampires because visible light is higher frequency therefore higher energy therefore MORE ionizing.
I'd be more worried if I didn't live in a cave away from the Sun (jk, I don't). Radio waves go right thru windows and the Sun is a giant thermonuclear bomb constantly bombarding us with RF in levels *far* higher than some piddly BT radio. It's concerning that many people have so little scientific literacy they can't adequately weigh risks.
Your lamp is more dangerous if EMF is a problem. You should avoid electrical lamps. This is totally anti-scientific ridiculous fear mongering one step above flat earthers.
The real danger of Bluetooth headphones or any headphones whatsoever is the risk of losing your hearing. We are the generation with highest risk of having lost hearing at a young age. The only reason are the heavily use of headphones with high volume. If you want to know more about it, Vox has a very well explained video.
we've known about this for years. i, and many of my friends in high school, were taken to the doctor for potential hearing loss due to how much we used headphones back then (06-10). its just that on a mass scale, no one cares. we have beats to bump ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It's most likely that it doesn't do anything at all. If we weren't exposed to it as much as we are today, then I doubt further studies would be conducted.
It's still a crazy thing to research. We are bombarded with non ionizing radio waves literally every day. The intriguing thing about radio waves is that they can not touch our cells at all. They are either too big or do not have the crazy energy ultraviolet, xrays, and gamma rays contain to damage our cells. Some radiowaves are the size of a skyscraper.
Sometimes, the most harmful thing that gets into our skull is misinformation. Sure, a high-velocity piece of rebar is bad for the skull it hits, but misinformation can be contagious.
Yah, there's at most mild heating at the site of impact but they don't go farther in than maybe an inch. If surface heating was enough to secondarily cause brain cancers, we'd all have already died from baseboard heaters or furnaces. You *can* get burns from malfunctioning radio towers (if you're a worker standing right next to it) or from idiots that pull out the magnetron from a microwave and use it unshielded. But that's levels several orders of magnitude higher than anything normal.
Whenever I use bluetooth headsets or AirPods nonstop for a while I always get massive headaches and have to take a few weeks break. I'm back to using wired again and it feels better imo, unless for certain exercise or pooping then I crack and throw in the bluetooth again.
I mean, the longer you spend time with your phone, the less likely you are to have an active life, and usually people who use their phones too much ends up having their motivation and decision-making affected, leading to eating less healthy and more isolation, so I'd say EMF is one of the last thing we need to worry regarding long smart-phone use.
To be honest the way you described it phones aren't the reason for this. They are a symptom of something else. If this something else be it dissatisfaction with life or perhaps loneliness, insecurity or mental health issues, won't be dealt with people will try to fill the hole with something else.
Dr. Mike, I’ve been watching your channel for years, and just want to say that I wholeheartedly support your efforts to fight misinformation. And I love how you approach these subjects: clearly, in an easy-to-understand manner, and with respect of your viewers and those you care for. Keep up the great work.
Read the difference between ionizing and non-ionizing radiation. That grandpa that we know, who smoke all his life and lived besides the radio died at 102; really doubt the radiation of the radio was the cause. The main danger is for people who hear at a way too high of a volume, damaging the tympanic membrane. Maybe something relating with cerumen but that's more for an ENT doc to explain more.
The age of information is truly the time to be least informed. If some people still believe the earth is flat, you bet your bum more people will believe the hoaxes
You've done a great job!!! There were complaints about magnets in telephones in the 50s through 70. The greatest danger for most children and young adults is listening to music at 100% volume for hours and not needing surgery or hearing devices before they're 40. Keep up the good work!!!👍🏾
Imagine if these low frequency EMFs actually harmed us, and the moment we step out into the sun we’re like SpongeBob and Patrick looking up at the light in the nicknack shop.
I've known this forever and have been trying to tell people about this. It's annoying that they don't listen when I only try to help them. Thank you for finally bringing light to this!
Ask them to live in the dark then, Visible light is exactly the same radiation just with millions times more energy. Living beings emit higher energy and amounts of radiation all the time, that's how a lot of thermometers work
This is one of the first things our professors explained to us while I was studying for my Telecommunication engineering degree. There are regulations for antennas about the radiation levels based on tons of studies and the levels are fractions of what was found as even slightly dangerous. On top of this there is a whole category of studies for everything that is in close contact with human bodies and the engineering is always around blasting as few radiation as possible towards us (even while inside those boundaries from the regulations). Phones for example reduce the radiations towards our faces (so through the screens). I'm happy to see someone with a big community sharing this knowledge and debunking these fears :)
This dispels many misconceptions about Bluetooth headphones. As with many things, moderation is key. Awareness about the potential risks and taking preemptive actions should be done.
A single phone is probably fine, but a neighbor of mine used to carry three cell phones when at work and ended up getting cancer. I always thought it was weird, but apparently, the safety measured at the uranium plant where he worked required him to carry multiple phones.
No, "everything" is NOT toxic, this is the kind of bullshit that scares people for NO REASON. Very little of what is around us is actually toxic and the things that are we KNOW ABOUT - and bluetooth is NOT one of those things. Please stop making such bullshit sweeping statements like that - YOU are the problem here. YOU.
Excellent video, Dr Mike! One thing to add would be that if you look at the light (RF) spectrum, from low energy to high energy, it goes: - non-ionizing: radio waves, mirowaves, infrared, visible, UV - ionizing: UV, X-Rays, Gamma-Rays Hence, radiowaves and microwaves have lower energy than visible light! Yet, somehow, no one is afraid to turn on a lightbulb at night and i have seen no studies checking the effect of visible light on cancers. While they cannot bump electrons from atoms at these wavelengths (wavelength (m) or frequency (Hz) ~ energy; different from emission power (W) ), the thing that they can do is heat tissue (think microwaves at 1000W or ~10000x the power of a cell phone; or think a magnifying glass concentrating visible light to heat something and burn it). This is why we have VERY conservative power limits with built in safety margins (cellphones max is about 0.3W; cell towers max ~20W; microwave heats at about 1000W for 1-2mins in a cavity designed to keep everything bouncing around so as to use the waves multiple times until they dissipate; think cats' eyes). The last thing is that we typically have the emission power (power emitted at the source) and also have a formula to calculate the power at a certain point and distance away (reception power), with the emission power being the maximum, and decreasing with distance and directivity. This makes it so it wouldn't matter if the source is right next to your ear (airpods) or in your pocket (cellphones). 1W of received power next to your ear is 1W of received power no matter if the power was greater when it left the cell phone in your pocket, the cell tower down the street or your neighbour's the wifi router.
This is the reply I wanted to write, but couldn't figure out the wording. Thank you! So many people forget how the EMF spectrum actually works and just shout bullshit into the ether.
We have been surrounded by radio waves since the 20s. Visible light has many times more energy than radio waves. A TV remote emits higher frequency radiation than a cell phone. Radio wavelength is measured in kilometers. Way too long to do anything to a tiny human.
Pretty sure the Soviet over the horizon radar (i forget the name) was so strong that it interfered with radios all over the world (wookpecker frequency??). Yet we’re all still alive.
I admit I have learnt a lot from the cute Doc. 90% learning 10% gawking at how adorable he is. Totally makes my day especially when playing with Bear & Ribby.
Cell phones are not a cancer risk, and we know this because before about 1980 there were no cell phones, and by 2000 everyone had one. Cancer rates did not rise.
Cancer rates have most definitely risen. A simple google search will show this. But not from cell phones. Mostly likely from food and environmental factors. Bowels cancers especially are rising every year, particularly among younger people.
Yes they have risen just not from cell phone use. It’s all of the stuff we do to and put in our bodies. Even the foods and drinks that should be safe like veggies and such. You step outside and you expose yourself to carcinogens.
Back in my community health classes when I was finishing my bachelors degree someone had mentioned this in the preventative medicine class. The Doctor Who teaches the class who was an MD who specifically researches health trends said that there are so many other carcinogens that are much more dangerous that we’re exposed to on a daily basis, and that for the average person, the connection between severity and potential for actual cause of cancer is so low that there are other things that should be focused on like stopping smoking, decreasing pollution levels in the air, dealing with micro plastics and chemicals that are in hygiene and personal care products as well as chemicals in cosmetics. In addition, there is the problem related to antibiotics in the food we eat. There’s a lot to unpack here, but basically there’s other things we should be worrying about.
Which is hilarious bc farmers don’t sell antibiotic filled meat and animal products: they literally get in trouble for detectable levels. A test that reveals antibiotics in a truck of milk the ENTIRE TRUCK goes down the drain
@@spazzyshortgirl23 Yeah, but it still doesn't change the fact that people believe it exists. Even if something is wrong, if the public believes it is true, it is public health's job to combat that misinformation and ensure people know the facts.
Yeah, but we could decrease risk of ALL of them. I'll stick to wired earphones, turning off WiFi at night, using 4G, minimizing use of plastics, natural shampoo and body wash, Whole Food Plant Based Nutrition, and so on.
I was just diagnosed with breast cancer, could you do a video on invasive ductal carcinoma? This type of breast cancer is on the rise and it's also the type that affects men as well as women.
Dr. I know something is wrong with me I'm very sick. But recent doctor, an Oncologist, examination and CRT showed no sign of cancer. Name of doctor that have EMF patients in DC, Maryland, VA, or any state locations I may contact please advise ASAP. Thanks!!
The breakdown of data and studies is impressive. It certainly reduces certain fears and misconceptions about Bluetooth headphones and their radiation emissions.
I had a physics teacher in middle school who tried to convince us about this myth and the cherry on top is that he is now my sister's head teacher. Glad you made this video!
As part of a course I was leading a seminar on, last year I read a recent paper on effect of prolonged EMF from cell phones and headsets being used to make phone calls on stress and cardiac health using a very large British sample: Cell phone use was quantified based on ~2010 levels of use, not present day, to look at the downstream effects of high exposure. And it found headset use to make phone calls 15 years ago (not likely to be Bluetooth) was associated with present day worse health. Specifically usage to make phone calls over 30 hours a week, in people with lower SES. The main flaw (imo) in this study was that it didn't take into account why the cellphone use was so high, and it is more likely that what the study found was that having a JOB where you have to be on the phone all day (e.g. call center, operator, dispatch) is stressful. It is really hard to do this kind of population level study and I'm glad they could put the data out for others to see.
Thanks for doing this. I'm an electrical engineer, extremely familiar with the tech using all of these devices, and I can't tell you how often people have asked me about this exact subject. I've debunked it every time, and people have been very appreciative that I've taken the time, but perhaps this video will just be easier and less time consuming for me to send it instead of lecturing the people I meet!
I find it odd when stat ranges are so wide, like I had blood work done recently and the range of normal for one of the items was an 8x from low to high. It would seem like there should be a tighter range. Maybe exponentially diminishing returns or effects? But still seems weird. If I had 10x more $$$ or 400x more $$$, I want the 400x or much closer to that lol.
I recently got a BT connected HA. I'm super sensitive and have some neck/head pain - cervicogenic headaches. The HA connected to BT was making my headaches worse. When I researched it and contacted the manufacturer, I found out the the BT connection uses even less energy than a BT headset. Unfortunately, I still had no choice but to not use the HA with BT. I can use a cellphone BT headset. go figure!
The bottom line is that both cell phones and bluetooth headphones are in mass use in years and decades. If there was a cancer risk it would be noticeable by now. The rates of brain cancer would be surging as compare to the rates say 30 years ago. Any electromagnetic wave can be described as radiation. Phones usually emit milliwatts (can go to several watts) of RF power at around 850MHz to 5GHz (for 5G). Those frequencies are orders of magnitude lower than those of sunlight. Yet, conspiracy theorists aren't afraid exposing themselves to a high energy radiation with typical intensity of 1KW/m2 when they go to the beach, but at the same time are terrified of a cell phone or bluetooth headphones that have much lower energy, and they transmit it with much lower intensity.
I’m really grateful for this research, Dr. Mike. Someone I am somewhat acquainted with believes in the harmful effects of radiation from sleeping with your cell phone by your head, but truth be told, there isn’t enough actual evidence to back this up. As a Christian with a lot of faith behind me, I thrive on evidence based belief (from my own experiences as well as proofs in the world). Keep up the great work!
The real shame is so many companies are removing headphone jacks left and right so most people have a extra step of buying a dongle if they want to use wired headphones. Even a small barrier like this turns countless people to the ewaste battery powered wireless earphones.
E-waste wireless earphones? As opposed to e-waste wired earphones? I know it's popular to complain about planned obsolescence, but the two most recent wireless head/earphones I purchased have lasted longer than any wired set I ever owned. I remember going through many pairs of wired sets, where especially the wire itself was prone to breaking.
At this point in my life I'm simply tired of hearing about this, that, or the other is going to do all these bad things. It all comes down to using tech, eating certain foods, doing or not doing some type of activity, in moderation. If I had listened to even a quarter of all the stuff that was supposed to be bad for me, I'd probably be the most miserable person on earth. Common sense people, common sense.
Well we might not necessarily know or connect the dots properly. A lot of people didn't realize Lead was in gasoline and that has caused a lot of problems.

Many people experience sickness being around large levels of EMF. I feel sick if I put my phone to my ear for more than a couple seconds, I’m gonna listen to my body over studies.

We spend many hours a day bombarded by non ionizing radiation from light bulbs. That's higher energy than radio waves.

Did you just quote yourself in a TH-cam comment?

Just wait till they figure out that visible light is EMF with higher energy.
Lol facts .. people hear 'radiation' and freak out. Better get rid of my light bulbs and microwave while we're at it 😂
Wait, it is? 😅
I feel very failed by my biology and chemistry classes in highschool.
@@undefinederror40404 yes, higher frequency/wavelength means higher energy. Visible light is around 400nm(nanometers) to 700nm.
Infrared/heat is about 780nm and 1mm
microwaves are from around 1mm to 1m.
And radio waves are 1m to hundreds of km.
X-ray is 10nm to 0.01nm
And gamma rays is everything smaller.
Take this with a grain of salt. I am only a science enthusiast and don’t really know that much. This might also be very simplified.
Oh... you're right...! 😅 hmmm

Please stop making such bullshit sweeping statements like that - YOU are the problem here. YOU.
Excellent video, Dr Mike!
One thing to add would be that if you look at the light (RF) spectrum, from low energy to high energy, it goes:
- non-ionizing: radio waves, mirowaves, infrared, visible, UV
- ionizing: UV, X-Rays, Gamma-Rays
Hence, radiowaves and microwaves have lower energy than visible light!
Most phones dont even have mini jack ports anymore and you will have a job finding a nice set of headphones or plugs with a wire
Tho you can get a Bluetooth adaptor with a headphone jack 🤣 improvise adapt overcome haha!
Just use wired headphones? Instead of the 3.5mm plug they now come with USB-C
Or just use a adapter if you still have a working 3.5 wired headphone that you use

It's good that we have studies on this. Tech often evolves before our medical understanding of it.

@@SugerSprinkledFun Probably from chemicals used in food approved by the same government that says this radiation is safe lol
Yes they have risen just not from cell phone use. It’s all of the stuff we do to and put in our bodies. Even the foods and drinks that should be safe like veggies and such. You step outside and you expose yourself to carcinogens.
They have risen astronomically

Dr. I know something is wrong with me I'm very sick. But recent doctor, an Oncologist, examination and CRT showed no sign of cancer. Name of doctor that have EMF patients in DC, Maryland, VA, or any state locations I may contact please advise ASAP. Thanks!!
I been watching you for five years and learned so much thank you dr mike 😊
The breakdown of data and studies is impressive. It certainly reduces certain fears and misconceptions about Bluetooth headphones and their radiation emissions.

Hey Doctor Mike, your take on AirPods is so informative and engaging! Thanks for keeping us in the loop with your awesome content❤
I had a physics teacher in middle school who tried to convince us about this myth and the cherry on top is that he is now my sister's head teacher. Glad you made this video!
Thank you, bro, it means a lot and helps a lot, may God bless you 😀👍

2:23 10 to 400 that’s a huge range that could basically mean anything
I find it odd when stat ranges are so wide, like I had blood work done recently and the range of normal for one of the items was an 8x from low to high. It would seem like there should be a tighter range. Maybe exponentially diminishing returns or effects? But still seems weird.
If I had 10x more $$$ or 400x more $$$, I want the 400x or much closer to that lol.
The point is just that it is, even if it’s on the higher end, not in any way dangerous
No it could basically mean between 10-400 😽
Bro as soon as i put my headphones in this pops up

Another great video from Dr. Mike. Very timely, on a practical subject.
Great job Mike!

Manufactured foods and Plastic are more like to cause cancer. Unfortunately. 😢
Sugar, Carbohidrates and BPA are more likely to be harmful for people.
We're only aware to know if It can cause cancer is when We all get old.
7:52 Now I wonder what SAR my hearing aids have.
I can use a cellphone BT headset. go figure!
9:15 You’re welcome🖤
You don’t have a long enough attention span to watch a ten minute video 😂
@@optimised120I obviously did to find the answer kid
Я балдею от ваших видео. Вы такой умный дядька!❤️❤❤
Bro you look exactly like Ben Stone from the Manifest series... 😂😂😂
I’ve said the same thing…
Bro!!! I WAS GOING TO ASK Ben Stone on his Reddit "ask me anything" if he randomly made a TH-cam video on this topic.
Im so glad to hear! Now I’ll feel so much more comfortable about using my air pods. What a relief!
I love how all videos ultimately helps us understand what scientific evidence means, and what it does not!
I think if it was completely true everyone would be suffering from a sickness
Well we might not necessarily know or connect the dots properly. A lot of people didn't realize Lead was in gasoline and that has caused a lot of problems.
@@marshaltito7369 They put lead in the gasoline on purpose to act as a stabilizer and the guy who proposed it almost died from lead poisoning. I still remember a few years ago - there were concerns/reports that having your phone in your pants pocket caused radiation to your genital regions, in your shirt pocket caused heart problems, and if you held the phone up to your ear and talked a lot it caused brain cancer. Funny how they no longer mention any of that.
