Thank you for the inf!. I work with Solidworks wich is so nice, rapid and easy to use and i have to do this in Catia, that it is so tedious...Great video!
Thank you for the video! Is it possible to alter a path or spline designated for a breakout view, or does it need to removed and recreated? I'm performing maintenance on many of our active files; unfortunately, they all have clipped views and I cannot apply a new breakout view without also removing the clipping.
Fantastic info! Super useful! I have a question though. Do you know how to change the way you would create the profile of the break out view? Such as using circles or splines rather than lines?
Hello Wolfgang, I have an issue with breakout...I got a cylinder and I follow all the steps to create a breakout (with a front view where the cylinder is along and then a projected view where you can see the circle of the cylinder to control the dept). However I can't pick the center of the cylinder! When I go to the 3D viewer I'm not able to pick any reference object neither (like a plane or even a point). As an experiment I have tried to create a rectangle solid with an edge in the middle of the cylinder and then I able to pick the edge of the new solid!
thanks for your quick reply. I was expecting to be able to pick the center as well but it doesn´t. When I go over the center the pointer changes from arrow to hand icon but nothing gets selected. The part itself is a pipe with some bends (I said cylinder before because is the end of the pipe I want to breakout and is a cylinder shape). This pipe is an assembly with a connector and one of the ends. the end of the connector I have been able to do the breakout, but not the other end, the pipe itself. I´m wondering if is anything wrong with the pipe. Why I´m able to breakout the connector and no the pipe? I open the pipe alone and I can section but no breakout. Weird
Hi Wolfgang! Thanks for your great video! I was wondering if it is possible to modify the break out profile (trying to avoid erasing and doing a new one till it's perfect) Greatings from Switzerland!
Your channel saved my CATIA class few years ago haha. I'll be picking it up again now.
Thank you so much, I don’t have problem with breakout view but I solved another problems by your video. Thanks again
you´re welcome
Nice,
Around the minute 8:04, when you fix the thick lines, there are two slim round lines which I don't understand
, aren't they a Catia mistake too?
Thank you for this video! It is really clear to learn!
Great 🙂
You are an excellent teacher .thank your tutorial

As far as I know it is sadly not possible.

+Dave P In case of a cylinder you don´t have to select anything - it will automatically go up to the center.

Hi, sorry it isn´t possible, because there is no "edit breakout" option.
