I could not close the surface of second cylinder which has a diameter 25 mm. and long 82*2+105. It gave the error "Impossible situation". I did everything as you did.
@@wolfgang.walden.cad.training thank you for reply. I am trying to watch all of your videos. because you enable me to learn too much things about devoloping myself.
I had to do a similar exhaust manifold, and had to hide surfaces for there to not be remaining stuff inside the manifold. is this bad? Can I keep the surfaces hidden and it still counts as a finished product?
Dier mr. Wolfgang, I got a problem on a 7:22min. When I try to close surface I got "Impossible situation", and can not do that operation. I allso try to do this on another computer and got same error. What you think the problem is ? I hate this situation becouse I do same as you on this tutorial :(
Wolfgang Walden Do you mean the combined small outlets that connects to the main pipe? I followed the exact steps that you show but I get the error message. I must be doing something wrong
Hello Wolfgang, I'm renewing my knowledge on catia and have one question. Can You somehow do a simple reuse of the colsesurface pattern from 6:13 in the pattern for holes at 21:51. For being clear I don't want to make a parameter that defines the value of 82mm and push the parameter to both patterns. I would like something of reuse existing pattern properties. Some times deep paramterization by the variable is more time consuming and it would be quicker to reuse the existing pattern properties.... One more question (if it's possible) will it work over diffrent catia modules (one pattern in sheet design and one pattern at part - both in advanced license) or If part i designed in advanced licenese in sheet pattern and then someone runs the basic license and tries to reuse the pattern from sheetdesign in part design over his basic license ? Anyway thanks for nice time with Your lessons. I appreciate Your knowledge spreading approach!
Regarding "close surface" take a look here : th-cam.com/video/GjolJ_o8A4s/w-d-xo.html There is no "reuse pattern" in part design or gsd, only in the assembly workbench. Where is the difference between "basic" and "advanced" licence?
Hi Wolfgang, I would like to ask which program do you think is best for a beginner who will not devote himself to creating full time but still needs to draw parts for production (only with a small subsequent adjustments from the manufacturer). In terms of ease of learning, intuitive program and usability of the result. Autodesk AutoCAD, Inventor or Catia, or something else? I learned a little in Inventor, but as a beginner, it bothers me how complicated simple operations such as moving or rotating an object are. Moving an object in copy mode goes great in moving mode is terribly wrong. Maybe I have a lot of sketches in one layer, maybe it's just because I'm learning a new thing. Thanks.
Try Fusion 360 also from Autodesk, you can get a free licence. It is very similar to Inventor. Of course the superior programs are Siemens NX and Catia. But for beginners I would advise to go for: 1. Inventor/Fusion 360 2. Solidworks/Onshape
@@wolfgang.walden.cad.training Thank you very much, I really appreciate your advice. I've watched some of your videos (I'm learning some of them - for example, scaling the image to the dimensions of the sketch was great) and youtube periodically offers me more. I see that you work in different programs and the differences in them are not a problem for you.
i can't seperate the PartBody and the Geometric set apart like You did , so when i want to close surface of the cylinder , it's an impossible task , any solutions ?
Hi, strange - maybe you should reset all toolbars - tools->customize->toolbars: restore all contents and restore position. If it doesn´t work - make 2 extrudes with the 2 sketches - the intersection curve would be the same.
‘impossible situation’ , this problem because, there has interactin between each branch pipe, so increase the distance of each branch pipes. can solve the problem
+Wolfgang Walden But sir, i am taking the same dimension from your drawing and still it is giving an error to me, whereas the case is not same on your part.. Why??
Hi Wolfgang Walden this is a nice part and quality of video is better than the old onecould you please change some of your videos to hd and audio. thank you for your incredible job.
Nice tutorial. Would be better if you gave some clarity about the dimensioning. Its too hard to follow. Or could you please share the diagram which was used as basis of this model
teacher very very thank you for teach i hope you healthy anyway when time of 7min 19seconds , appear to me ( part1 \partbody\closesurface.2 impossible situation) how to i haver to solve this?? could you teach to me ? i am first starter catia low level elementry level so very very i need to solve this and detaily tell me please yours way of detaily technich telling to t his problem , really i want be like you as mecanic engineer
Sorry, can´t tell because I´m not a clairvoyant. Anyway I would strongly advise you to start with the basics and proceed to the more difficult exercises like this later on. Go to my website and look for basic part design - start with 1.3 kontur 2. www.walden-wolfgang.de/2016/07/20/catia-v5v6-partdesign/

Remarkable catia knowledge. Many thanks for sharing.

Obviously you did not - but - just try different dimensions.
Sir I can't do close surface of cylinder, shows me warning of updated error impossible situation. My catia version is V5.
And??? You should have noticed - I did this in catia v5. Change your dimensions.
@@wolfgang.walden.cad.training Thanks, By changing radius of cylinder it works.
Thanks for instructing gsd.
I could know pattern's fuction newly.
Dear Mr. Walden. Why do you prefer to draw your sketches in axis system?
Because the big companies used to do it in catia. Please watch my catia v5 basics videos.

You could copy that manifold and paste it special in a new part.

Hi, depending on your hardware and the catia release number you should change the dimensions slightly and then it might work.
Whan I change diametar of cylindar on 24 or 26 everything is fine, but whan is 25 it is impossible error, :) funny. Thanks on your answer.

Hi Wolfgang @7.21 I cannot close the cylinder. I get a message saying "Impossible situation".
Any idea why I get that message?
Hi, if you cannot close the surface, the boundaries of the openings/the holes are not in a plane/planar.

Prateek badiger Yes seems so. Could mail me your part - so I could check.
info@wwmc.de- Which release do you use?
Wolfgang Walden
I am using V5 R19. I will email the part. Thank you.
Prateek badiger Ok, fine!

Would you happen to have a drawing with measurements to print and give to a colleague? I want to give this as a challenge to him!
Sorry, but you can download the model from my GRABCAD account and do your own drawing.
Wolfgang Walden alright ill check it out thanks!

Change the dimensions a little bit.
when i open the gsd, there isn't a combine tool under the plane tool. Is there any other way to open it, or a way to solve this problem ?

This is great!! Thanks a lot Herr Walden. How did you come up with the dimensions by the way?Are you referring any blueprints?

FENG ZHOU Yes, of course if you increase the distance this could solve some problems.

+Vedant Vashee Hi, depending on Release and Servicepack this may occur. Just check the answers down below.
7.12 cylindrie close surface command is not working
Two possible reasons - your joined surfaces have gaps which boundaries are not planar - or you have manifolds in your joined surfaces. Or even both.
Can you give link for the detailed drawings?
Sorry, there is no detailed drawing, this model is completely made up.
Why do we use parameters r formulas, relations and geometrical set and also explian me how to use them
