Fiona and I traveled on Oman Air B787 Business Studio from Bangkok to Muscat. Is the upgrade to Business Studio worth it? We also visited Oman Air Flight Training Centre and discovered the country.
Oman Air has recently re-branded its 787 First Class as Business Studio. The upgrade cost (BKK to MCT) was $375 from Business Class which allows you to sit in a private cabin, with First Class amenities.
The pilots gave us the flight briefing in the cockpit. After takeoff, the service started promptly. The food and beverages were the same as in Business Class. Omani and Western cuisine was on offer. After the meal, the crew set up our bed with First-Class bedding. At the end of our flight, we gave our verdict about Oman Air Business Studio.
We visited Oman Air flight training center, Captain Nasser showed us around the facility including a mock-up B737 and A330 for evacuation and a pool for ditching, 2 full motion flight simulator, and computer-based training (CBT). We stayed in Oman for 3 nights and visited Wadi Tiwi, Bimmah Sinkhole, and Nizwa Fort.

Sam, it's great to have Fiona with you on this video. She gives a different and an informative perspective from her own experiences as a veteran airline crew member. So while the wine selected can be important, Fiona revealed how the wine temperature can make a difference. Hopefully the cabin crew and the airline made note of her observation and suggestion.

Thanks you for your great video !!! Here in France we have some words to describe the red wine temperature. It is said here a red wine should be chambré it means the red wine should be served at the temperature of the room around 17 °C degrees. But not around 20 °C like our rooms are heated nowadays. These words was starting to be on a time the central heating systems doesn't exist.

From all I've read I agree that Oman will be the next tourist hot spot. They have the infrastructure and natural scenery. It is also less well know - which creates a draw in itself as people want to lead a trend in "discovering" a new destination.

1 omr is 2.6usd. Oman is expensive especially the taxi. In summer temperature is crazy. A lot of interesting hotel though. Next time will try to go to the country side
