    Great videos ;) im almost new to Crawlers.... and got a Amewi Pro like the Absima Sherpa... almost same hardware setup... I also got a Absima Sherpa... but is it possible to get a DIG gerabox that can be activatede then u climping rocks to awoid the truck to tilt back over.. sorry for my english...

    • @PhilBrindley
      @PhilBrindley  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi and welcome. I've not seen a DIG available anywhere for the Sherpa so far. I'm also not sure it would help with climbing as you would be having to drag the rear wheels up the climb and this would just cause the tyres to grip and the front to lose traction. The best option to improve the climbing ability in my opinion is to improve grip (better tyres) and get the centre of gravity as low and far forward as you can. The Sherpa body is a little top/rear heavy and this is made worse by putting things on the roof rack. You can either counter this by removing weight from the upper rear, or adding weight to the lower front (unsprung weight preferably). You could also try using lighter shock oil in the front and heavier in the rear. Ultimately though, the Sherpa is a trail truck that crawls quite well, rather than a crawler than does ok on trails. Hope that makes sense. 🤙

    Hi
    I watch all your videos and thank you because it helped me a lot.
    I have a problem with my SHERPA.
    The magnetic body support at the front is not effective during a fall or rollover.
    Would you have an effective solution to remedy this.
    thank you for your help

    • @PhilBrindley
      @PhilBrindley  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Kevan, thanks for watching, I'm really glad that the videos have been helpful. I had the same problem with the body coming open. Originally I went with a 3D printed clip that fixed under the body and clipped to the chassis (see episode 1). This worked OK, but I found that the body would still open in a bad roll. Since then I have resorted to using traditional body posts and clips, but not in the usual place. They are on the wheel arches and clip through from underneath the wheel arch liner and through the main wheel arch. I 3D printed the posts (of course, but you could modify normal ones) and used the Arrma body clips that have the rubber tags on them to attach them to the body. It's hard to explain, but if you skip to 03:55 in this video you can see the posts sticking up through the wheel arch liner. If I can I'll do a quick video about it later, but if not then I'll include it in this weeks main video. Hope that helps... 🤙

    Hey Phil! Thanks for your Awsome videos on Sherpa! In the video you complain about the drag brake and reverse, but normally that's a easily programmable thing on Crawler ESC's... There's no way to you to change that instead of put a new one? or you just went for the upgrade and problem solution in one shot?
    Thanks in advance

    • @PhilBrindley
      @PhilBrindley  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Ivo, I don't think there are any other settings on the Hobbywing 1060 (the one in the stock Sherpa) that you can change other than running mode and battery type. Hence why I changed it out. Having driven it more since, I now think that they drag brake strength is the same in both ESCs, but I am working it harder now as I am tackling harder climbs and descents. But I am certainly happy that I can now alter how fast that brake applies, allows for much smoother driving.
      Thanks for watching 🤙

    Absolutely brilliant vids Phil! Hope you haven't finished your mods on this crawler. Was hoping to see someone, somewhere installing the Hobbywing Quicrun Fusion 2-in-1 in this crawler. Several of the guys on FB have done it, but no vids! Looks like a tight squeeze 😞

    • @PhilBrindley
      @PhilBrindley  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you, glad you enjoyed them. I've done a bit to this rig since (check out the recent Makeover videos) but not installed a fusion yet. I have one in my Element Ecto and it is a fantastic motor. I can see that it would be tight, but the fusion is supposed to fit where a 550 can motor will, and the wires come out of the side so I think it would go in ok.
      Thanks for watching. 🤙

    Bonjour,
    Votre vidéo est très bien , le moteur est il d'origine. J'ai installé sur mon sherpa un hobbywing 1080, je ferai une comparaison avec vos réglages et les miens . Je vous félicite des autres vidéos que vous avez réalisé.
    Le mien et de couleurs orange.

      Merci. Le moteur est standard dans mon Sherpa. J'ai eu un Holmes Hobbies Crawlmaster Sport pendant un moment, ce qui était très bien, mais je l'ai retiré maintenant pour l'utiliser dans un autre camion. Je n'utilise pas vraiment beaucoup les forums ces jours-ci, mais je devrais vraiment les consulter davantage car ils regorgent d'informations utiles. 🤙
