You need to support the engine, as the mount is taking some of the weight of the engine. Its purpose is to reduce the vibration and flexing of the engine when accelerating and braking. You will not be able to fasten one of the mount bolts without support and most likely to cross thread the thread. It only requires a jack and a piece of wood as support. Easy to change as long as you have everything prepared. And remember safety first in some cases you do not get a second chance. Support the engine and secure the car from rolling away or worse coming off the jack / support.
@@ralfeotto4468 Thanks for the answer!! i finally changed it using my jack as support. Very easy to do. Now I'm about to do the same for the back engine mount. will the same support work? or do I have to do it somehow else??

Same support will work, block of wood to support the engine on a jack. @@adwnis1979
