I would pay $100 for that lol, BotW in 4K? Maybe as an upgrade but not buying full price at launch. In fact I wouldn’t get the console for this, unless maybe they offer the upgraded game for free.

Sounds cool but launching Switch 2 w/ BOTW again whether in 4K or not would be a pass for me and not make me buy into the system @ launch. I already played, put 300 hrs into, and beat that game. I'd rather have the Switch 2 launch with a brand new game like an open world 3D Mario that is massive in scale like what BOTW did for Zelda.
It is supposed to be backwards compatible, with the new cartridges probably having a notch or something on it, a la 3DS. They said they are keeping the cartridges, so it will be backwards compatible. My thoughts are with BOTW is, if they have a 4K upgrade (with maybe a QoL.update or two) they will make it an upgrade charge, which has become industry standard for the most parts in situations like this, and then also make a special edition cartridge for those that did not have it on Switch (there are some) and for those that will buy anything Zelda. The physical may have a few editions to entice others to buy again (bundling a book in or something). The only way that it would do well, with most people rebuying it again at this point would be if they added a bunch to it. What may do it would be to make a BOTW and TOTK bundle pack for $60 or even $70 or $80 if they add a DLC to either or both. Then it would be worth it. I'd pay $30 each to get them both 4k and 60fps, instead of paying $10 or so each for upgrade; which I still believe they will offer no matter what. Nintendo is pretty good at reading the temp of the market and their buyers. People complained about TOTK being $70; but when it was played and people saw how big it was, that went mostly away. Some YTers still do, but that's for clicks. I'm not saying they don't bungle things at times, but I just don't see it happening here.
Isn’t there a Japanese version of LOZ: BOTW that has all DLC/Patches on the Game Card?
Would be nice if that particular version was released in the U.S.

I literally just replayed BotW last week for the first time in 7 years so I’m good.
I don't want a rerelease of BOTW i want backwards compatibility with all the damn games that i already have. There's no reason for it especially with the form factor and architecture being so similar

I was thinking the same both games in one cartridge except at the end of BOTW you can continue playing the game and you will need to locate the underworld passage we find our heroes in TOTK continuing the story seamlessly.

@@magicthplease lord tell me that they got multiplayer botw that would be class. I know they shut down the mod for it on cemu (alongside cemu itself lol) but it would make sense why in retrospect if they were working on a first party multiplayer title.

This is likely the demo they showed people at that original showcase of the development kit Switch 2’s behind closed doors. It was widely reported. Could they finish it into a full game, sure why not.

If Breath of the Wild added new playable characters to explore the world with like Zelda and the Champions. I wonder if switch 2 is going to have some kind of immersive ai capabilities allowing people to chat with NPCs. That added to Zelda would be cool.
I know they don’t do this anymore but what if it was a pack in title? And a free upgrade if you already own it.
That's the only way this wouldn't be awful. Even then, we need new experiences...not two consoles with BotW as launch titles.
I would buy an upgrade of £10 but the nostalgia isn’t enough for £60
Granted that we heard rumors of Nintendo showing developers at GamesCom a version of BotW with seamless loading, I could see it being an actual release. I hope that this is an outlier though, I'm hoping for brand-new titles showing off the system's power, and maybe free or cheap upgrades to existing releases. If they stack the Switch 2 library with upgraded Switch 1 titles for near or at full price, I'll be very disappointed.
I waited for totk and started with ss then botw to lead into totk when i picked up my switch last year. I do want to play botw again but give it a few more years, a celebration moment when we hear what the next installment of Zelda will be.
If they added a whole animated movie of post botw into the scene where tears began that would definitely up the selling point. In other words give us the ending to botw that many were hoping for or even turn it into movie showing the rebuilding/life happening moments
I always assumed the codename was "U-King", because there was a "Wii U" version and the Switch version was just "King". That said, this sounds like a rumour that could actually be real! I can't imagine re-buying BotW again, though. After playing that game and then returning to the same world in TotK, I'd find it tough to sink hours back into the game so soon.
If they redid botw with the improvements they made in totk, I’d buy

Having said that, while I buying it anyways, there are things that could make me more excited. What if they added new DLC? An aftermath mode? I’ve always wished you could continue the adventure post credits in BoTW and Ocarina.
What if they did something completely nutty??
Like, add ultrahand and fuse? What if you could build in BoTW?
Regardless, I’ll buy the snazzy deluxe physical edition, but I hope there’s an option to upgrade for $10-20 for people less gullible than me. If that were an option I’d upgrade my digital copy of BoTW and keep my new, fancy deluxe edition sealed.

God I hate my nature as human being. But lord please grant me botw @ 4k60 I know its bad to say id pay full price (again) but the truth is I would. I would love to have it at 4k 60 on my screen.
How do I know? I emulate it at that same quality to that same screen and yes. It looks as gorgous as it sounds. It *feels* like luxery, it *feels* premium. Like im playing the gucci of video games or whatever. But the thing abt emulation is that it is very finickey and hard to set up. I cant click a button and be playing the game in under a min.
-I gotta turn on the pc,
- sign in,
-wait for everything to load up,
-plug in the hdmi to my tv,
-open ryujinx or cemu,
-connect my ps controller,
-drag the window to my tv screen,
-run the game,
-click full screen,
-move the mouse off the big screen, -change the audio to my tv
-AND I have to wait for the game to load.
Its a whole 5 min ordeal on top of a ton of other things that can go wrong and that you have to manage and all of that turns me off of playing it. I would, no joke pay 60 just for the freedom to click a button and be in there at the same quality *with* the added benefit of mobility. I can take my switch wherever, cant do that with a pc. I guess it speaks to the fact that the only reason people turn to piracy is because first party sellers dont provide the services their customers *clearly* desire. I would pay the same amount for a 3ds port of kid icarus uprising but we wont ever get that. Cant play loads of 3ds games noe cus the eshop got shut down, what am I supposed to do? Piracy is the only option in that regard. Anyways I got off track yeah im totally on the same page as you in terms of a botw remaster.
I've already played through botw twice (one time in normal one time in master mode) and the dlc, even if the game runs at 4k 60 on the switch 2 It'd better be backwards compataible to make me play again, and I think a lot of people would agree with me.
Maybe they could have huge carts enough to fit both breath of the wild and tears of the Kingdom on One cart
If they bundled BOTW with an optimized version of age of calamity.. I’d buy that. Always wanted to play it but the frame rate turned me off.
I powered through AoC's framerates and surprisingly really enjoyed the new twist on the storyline.

Most likely if you already own the game, you won’t need to buy it again for you to get the enhanced version. This is seemingly just a bundle with all the DLC. Hopefully they will just enhance and patch the current game.
it would be cool if they could add a downloadable patch when you just use your switch 1 copy. That would incentivize a lot of people to buy the switch 2

My hope would be for any graphic improvements to old games people already bought on Switch we'll either get it for free or get it for a really reasonable amount. I'm not going to drop a ton of money JUST to replay a game I played less than 10 years ago but prettier.
Just like you said with tears of the kindom and coming out and playing that. Be hard to say how dedicated id be willing to jump right back into breath of the wild. As id want all the work i did as well in my already save file. What id love to get back is twilight princess, windwaker, ocorina or majoras masks remastered!
Never believed in a TP/WW Bundle but i would buy a BOTW/TOTK Bundle in 4K 60FPS for 70$ without thinking twice. The two games belong together and thinking of a golden cartridge gives me goosebumps

Magnetism is magical. lol idk. I'd only rebuy it if there was some sort of major rebalanced, higher difficulty mode that really shakes things up and if Switch 2 has an achievement system.
Ounces don't exist outside the US and UK. It's not Ounce. Besides that, to make it look better, give it some color contrast like Twilight and maybe a much higher poly count. Up until now it's been a Wii-U game and the switch is a Wii-U2.
Having 100%’d BOTW and near 100%ing master mode on the Switch. I can’t see myself buying it again on the switch 2, even though it is an incredible game.

Right it would have to be a massive update/ improvement to the games for me to consider buying it again. Something new would be nice. If they are going to update a Zelda game, remake Ocarina of Time or Majoras mask… Twilight Princess even.

Maybe in like half the life cycle of switch 2 would I go back. They need to focus on master mode and dlc for TOTK and make it backwards compatible.
Ounces? The Japanese use metric measurements and would be more likely to use Oz as in New Zealand for some reason like maybe a game setting is inspired by the movie settings in LOTR etc. 🤷🏼♂️

I think what they will do is realese breath of the wild but with all dlcs for free. Kinda like a game of the year edition that other studios do where they rerelease a game but with all its DLCs a tons of changes followed by updates which would make paying 60 again worth it

If it had something new added in like being able to go beyond an area you couldn't go past before or weapons. Something like that along with a detailed enhancement of the graphical world then I would buy it. Beyond that there is no point.

Why cant they just give us Twilight Princess 4K? That is at least an older game. Why can't they remake Windwaker in the style of Botw??? Why can't they remake some Zelda gameboy games like they did for Links Awakening??? Anything else but a 3rd version of BOTW...
It worked well for GTA 5. 360/PS3, One/PS4, and Series/PS5. Nintendo might see that and think, why can't we do that?

Why do people keep talking about oz and ounce, and not oz as in Wizard of Oz. Where the new dlss and ray tracing make this console perform like magic. Like how does this console make these games look like this being under powered, but properly utilized

Nope not at all for buying/playing the same game again. Nintendo games are already expensive enough that on top of the prices don't really go down. Of course sony and Microsoft resale games with upgrades (remasters) but they do big upgrades and the game prices drastically reduce over time. I'm not into buying the same games again from these company's. Plus they already did this with so many wii u games. They also did it with skyward sword and to me it didn't even look like that much of a visual upgrade unlike mario rpg

@BrainWasherAttendent well I beat breath of the wild and I'm still pretty early into tears of the kingdom due to other games I'm playing so tell me why you think both is better.
I feel like tears of the kingdom was too much for me mentally unless I look up exactly how to do most things. I liked the game, but it’s definitely not my favorite Zelda game.
Money isn't tight, but I still wouldnt buy the same game twice even if its in 4k. Just work on a completely new Zelda game that will be played on the switch 2 with upgraded frames and graphics...
a big no! tears of the kingdom was a failure! In my opinion. The story line was good in the beginning but the end was a rip off from ocriana of time. It was basically a big DSL game. Sadly nintendo does not care about there fans only profit. but in a broken world what do you expect?! If you don't know there is a live action movie of Zelda coming out! I am excited but hesitant. I've been a zelda fan since ocarina of time first came out on 64. I'm hoping they will do it justice. But based on recent games turn into movies. I personally think corporate america will go in for the quick buck instead of giving us a quality movie. Here's hoping 🤞🏼
