I did some research, it was used to transport stuff for several years. Sat in a shed for several years. Sat in a grove for several more years and everything but the cab was sent to the scrap pile and someone put the cab onto a custom chassis. And the rest is history. Cool project and sure it took a lot of engineering but other than that why would anyone buy this or drive it? If it had a fifth wheel or hitch it would be a sweet camper hauler. But as it is its probably going to sit in someones garage and never see the light of day again besides the once a year car show.
I certainly appreciate the builders craftsmanship and vision but I get a kick out of guys who think these are cool, I had to drive junk like this for a living, good for backing in a dock if you were lucky to have power steering but looks and creature comforts went by the wayside, ugly pieces of crap.
In 1984 fresh out of High School I drove one of these for a summer job hauling 50 gallon drums of peppermint oil. I loved that old truck and I drove the wheels off it. Drifted it many times on gravel roads and had it up on two wheels a few times. Loved that old truck. Great job saving this one and making her a real looker too!

I like it. It's extra cool , I don't get the elongated frame thou ? ... I mean , what's the point exactly cause as a hauler of any kind it doesn't look like it would do much good ... Someone clue me in here . C-series were all there were near here at first for tow trucks (get em for cheap off of the fire departments when they upgraded equipment) these are how I learnt everything from sling towing to ramp deck and 2 car rollback in . Lots of time spent in c-series . I hate em ... but I kinda want a 4 door diesel c-series rat rod sling truck as an abomination familiarity ... love hate relationship with c-series . Story of my life 🙃
I wanna 6.0 powerstroke one on air ride with air brakes and a sling hanging off the back with a stable boom and outriggers . C-series were the first rollback I ever drove (same reason , cheap fire trucks , easy to make into wreckers) The elongated frame makes em ride less like a lumber wagon 😉

That's not a rescue, it's part swaps. It would be like taking the wheels of a car in the junkyard and calling it a rescue. And it's barely heavy enough for the tires to smoke.
I'd went old school. No imagination for screwing a good truck body and chassis. The only thing I would of done was update the drive train and added a few personal touches.
I mean, if you’re gonna do all that, why not body it? It’s almost a waste to pull up and drop it about 2 inches. It looks exactly the same dropped as it does raised.

The lug nut spikes sticking out of the sides of the wheels are designed and used specifically for shredding the tires of any competitor who tries to pass you, regardless if it's on a rally racing course(which this truck was OBVIOUSLY designed for), or a drag strip. After installing these spikes on your own rally racing truck, you will win EVERY race simply by crashing any car that tries to pass you! The beauty of the design, is that most cars won't even bother trying to pass you during the race, especially after witnessing how you cause other cars to crash & burn! Oh, and these spikes are completely legal in every racing organization...
How do you get away with not having mud flaps? Is it still registered as a truck? or something different so not to conform to laws like that? I drove a newer version back in the early 90s of that truck. They were made from the 50's to the early 90's. I had to pull two double trailers with it when we borrowed it to rescue a load that was hooked to a broken truck a few miles from the terminal. One rough riding, slow, piece of crap for pulling doubles.
Very cool concept & build. Looks awesome. Winner of longest wheelbase, smallest passenger count, & most useless truck. But too awesome not cruise it. I would make it a motorcycle hauler & charge Harley Queens aka yuppies to transport their bikes to local Starbucks.

the good old C series.a truck you definately pay attention to your following distances in.cuz if not,your feet are the second thing to be crushed,followed by legs & chest.but they were workhorses for many of years.great for city deliveries & tight dock areas.

I'm not a fan of how its layed out but I can't argue with the craftsmanship. Can't see much of the work he's done but what I could see looked well executed.
Cool build but it would be alot cooler if it had some type of practical bed on it, I know you wanna show off the suspension but I think it would look way cooler with some rustic wood flatbed or something on it
There's an old milk truck down the street I gave the guy cash for already said I could keep it there...I might gget it and build a bagged van out if rat rod style
I would feel a little more safe if it had more tail weight but wow it is one great looking build . One question can it get wet? Like a sudden storm you know how the weather is down south.

Needs big aluminum fuel tanks where the air tanks are IMO. Would spice it up a bit and give it more of a big truck feel. Looks really cool though.

This guy is pretty smart. He kept the old frame under the cab and didn’t have to spend a ton of money and time in fab work. Right motor too.
