One the Darkside moments I love of Xena is when she is fighting Najara in the cave. Najara falls and is about to fall down the abyss and Xena walks towards her with a look to KILL! She starts smashing her fingers with her feet to make her fall and you can see in her face she is enjoying it..... Untill Gabrielle snaps her out of it lollll

He was impatient. Xena was better in strategy than him and so she choose to outsmart him rather than a straight fight in which the outcome was not certain.
One of my favorite episode and 0:55-1:50 one of the best saws fight in movie history I guess! Morloch is a very tough villan!
Morloch may have matched Xena's skill but he didn't come close to her experience. Xena has been fighting for years so she knows every trick possible to pull.
Don't forget Xena also used her wits while these fighters always relied on brute force
I really loved this era of TV the shows were so dumb and risky. It was fun being a teenager during it too! lol
I wouldn't say dumb but they were often very simple but with that little addition of morality that added deepness and made you think. Xena was one of the best of that kind. Now, tv is different. In some ways better but like you said, I too miss the simplicity of before lol
This show is so much ahead of his time! I wonder what could it have been with the tecnology we have today.

Well, Xena made short work of Morloch! He wasn't as dangerous to her as his name would suggest- a mixture of Mordor and Warlock 🤣 This is the sort of Xena episode I remember and love. She wins, shows off her beautiful body, and we get the bonus of seeing the attractive, scantily clad Varia😍 Great stuff!

One of my favorite Xena episodes ever. Morloch looks like Agathon, and both had a throwing weapon similar to the Chakram.

It would have been fun to watch an episode where Xena and Prince Morloch join forces, even if it's only temporary, to fight against a much more powerful enemy that threatens to destroy all life on earth!

This episode was directed by Renee O'Connor. Renee and Lucy said this actor was basically a pain to work with. They talk about the episode in their Coffee Talk #5 interview.
I just searched that video and learned that Lucy told the actor off because Renee was being "too soft" on him. They really are pretty much like their characters 😊
@@asbaran Yes. She did not have much experience as a director at that point and she was afraid if she pushed him too hard to do his job, he was going to leave the set. Lucy went after him when he wouldn't get out of his car and told him to get his butt back to work!

@@volb9817 From what Lucy and Renee said in the interview, the actor told Renee that he had a little injury and that it was hard to work like that. Renee told him she understood that it was not easy. He was whining alot and didn't want to get back to work until Lucy got a hold of him.

They wouldn't bring him back they hated working with the actor. Renee was directing this and she said he wouldn't listen to her and Lucy said at one point he wouldn't get out of his car and she had to tell him to go and do his work

@@flawlesslawless4180 She should have needed to be in order to have been able to have done the same kind of stuff that Hercules(Kevin Sorbo) did. The idea that she could have done that same kind of stuff without being a half god, would have been kind of insulting if you think about it since it would not make sense, and therefore insult the viewer's intelligence to some degree. There would need to be an explanation that would make sense for the explanation to be accepted, perhaps like maybe she wore a relic or something that gave her powers that no one else wore in the Xena shows or in the Hercules shows, something.

No, it was suggested in The Furies but never confirmed. The main team didn't want her to be a half goddess, that would have taken away the extraordinary side of the character (everything is too easy when you're a god). But they said some scriptwriters considered her as such.
This fight is plagiarized from that movie with jet lee as a monk who kills his fellow monk. No doubt about they copied this fight

what is up with the random uploads anyway ?? varia was a worst version of amarice I don’t get why they kept her around she never listened xena she tried to kill eve and gabrielle she is unreliable bcuz right where you think she’s done the dumbest thing she can possibly do she finds something even dumber to do, to do definitely not a worthy member of this tribe and just because eve killed her girlfiend that doesn’t give her the right to be a jerk I mean imagine if eve hevent offered to make peace in 6x14. Anyway renne did remarkably better job directing this episode compare to the awful 4x22 (which most of it was flashbacks) the shots from different ankles and the shots from the burning forest were pretty great, that probably cost a fortune
But she was hot and I guess that's enough.
