Probably my favorite fight scene of all time! I'm Hindu, and to see my favorite hero portray my Goddess Kali so beautifully really made me happy. Wonderful depiction of my religion. Thank you! ❤

The fact that Xena was worthy of being the avatar of the goddess Kali is nothing short of amazing and brought her back to life to fight her mortal enemy.
That’s some good story telling
This was done properly. The team actually took time and portrayed the character properly.
The whole India arc had some really brutal fights for Xena.
And some beautiful depth.

The meaning of life is our relationship with God. These four steps are the key to getting a Divine Revelation directly from him. They are something you'd eventually do if you took God seriously enough to read the Bible, while implementing its teachings. This is why the bare minimum to receive the revelation is our parents. You'll still have to forgive everyone though, but that comes much easier after meeting God. I'm extremely serious and very literal. I'm not talking about signs, nor feelings, nor prayer. It's an actual literal pulled out of your body direct one on one conversation, nothing you can miss. nor misinterpretae. The vast majority of christans never bother to do what God wants seriously, so most never get this revelation. To most outside church their Bible is a paper weight, or at best a virtue signal. Their religion is in what other people think about them, not their relationship with God. Please do those steps I mentioned, there really is a Divine Revelation waiting for all of us. There's extraordinarlly important information we all desperately need in this revelation, but those who get it are forbidden to share it. The Truth that Jesus Christ is Lord is written on every human heart. We all have that knowledge inside us, but we bury it under mountains of pain and anger. Those steps clear away that garbage inside you, letting God heal you, so that his words boom clearly inside your soul. The entire point of our existence here is to Trust God enough that we pay him this mustard seed of Faith, so his Grace can remove the stain sin has left on our souls. Everyone that does not get this Grace is not forgiven of any of their sins, even if they turned around and we're the best person from 25 to death. Without Grace those first sins are still counted against you, tying you to the devil's punishment. It's not about being a good person, It's about being forgiven for when you weren't. The Bible is Truth. Please do those steps and see for yourself. Please take your salvation seriously:

Tbh that's my issue with Gal Gadot. Gorgeous woman sure but she looks model skinny, not athletic. People like Lucy or Katee Sackhoff looked more natural in fight scenes since they had a bit of muscle on them.

Funny that you mentioned this. While and after watching Lucy Lawless as Xena, people lobbied for years for her to play WW. She finally did get the role as a VA in Justice League: New Frontier in 2008.

Seeing Xena take on Kali's form was one of the most memorable moments for me.
It's a shame India condemned these episodes.
When this episode aired, Lucy and Renee said while the credits were playing that they hoped that they potrayed Hinduism and Hindu Gods in a positive way.
I don't think 'India' did. As far as I recall it was only certain american hindu organisations that got themselves riled up about it before the episode had even aired (and there was something homophobic in amongst their complaint too).
It wasn't universally condemned by everyone in the religion at all, not to mention that the show had purposefully used a consultant in the making of the ep. The episode was briefly pulled because there was controversy, but was put back into rotation with very minor changes (I think there was one punch or maybe a headbutt removed, but that was it), plus they tagged on a disclaimer/PSA, but other than that the ep went out pretty much as they'd originally intended.

It was so ambitious in terms of scope, scale, and storylines. I can't think of any shows today (or in recent years) that would've even attempted something as balls to the wall crazy as this scene, truly

I swear I always watching Xena when I was in high school I used to play with my tennis racket and if it was a sword. Got pretty good. And with Xena character and looks it would make u think, I want to either b Xena or be with Xena. She is very attractive and powerful and in real life gorgeous true to heart new Zealand type of girl. The showrunners did their research on Hinduism quite well. Hanuman is shown to be a wise old guide to Xena... And when Xena becomes the embodiment of Goddess Kali....i was overwhelmed 🙌🙌🙌🙌

I know they did the best they could with this scene, but now when you look at how the extra arms on both characters were sort of just dangling in so many scenes, it really defeats the purpose of having those arms if the characters are only going to fight with the top two (their real arms) ones. It is perhaps scenes like these why many have said that Xena has become unwatchable these days. I still have my favorites though.

Im not hindu but i am very spiritual and am familiar with the teachings and bring alot of importance to respecting religious teachings. I still dont see what was offensive about this.( because the Hindus have those episodes band) I think it actually generally respects the teachings. Calling apond Krishna to give you streignt to fight against your demons. But i still respect their judgment on the matter since its their community.
It was a white man in New Zealand who set things in motion. He tried to clog Universal Studios’ fax machines and get Xena taken off the air over this episode. He was battling a brain tumor, which explains his odd behavior. Lucy talked about this in an interview. The actual Hindus pretty much jumped on the bandwagon and decided to be offended too, even though Krishna appears in various forms of media. I’ve been told that the Hindus in India enjoyed the episode. But the Hindus in the US are the ones who complained.

I am true spiritual hindu and I have read most of my scriptures( which 99% don't) like upanishads, purans, samhitas, aranyaks, etc. And these episodes did nothing wrong. What matters most is we call name of God(Krishna) and solely rely on him.

I once heard an interesting story that the Indian government contacted the producers about this story line. They expressed their displeasure for many saw this as sacrilege.
I didn't like these episodes largely because of how Gabrielle was useless during her pacifism phase.
Yeah, Gabrielle was super selfish making Xena deal with things all on her own. Then even critisizing Xena when she didn't do things her way.
Xena had the power to kill Gods from her daughter being baptized. Gabrielle was well back into fighting by then.
I mean, yeah, watching her go through that phase was kind of boring and a little predictable, but that was crucial to her character development. She was never 'meant' for this path, because her path was always with Xena, and in order to pursue Eli's path one has to accept that sometimes people they care about die and they will have to let them die in order to avoid violence. Basically, people on this path have to be generally a little detached from the world; they have to be open to emotions and relationships, but never hang on to things and people they have, otherwise they will step on the path of violence - because they would be afraid to lose something or someone.
Gabrielle undergoing that phase and deciding that this path isn't for her was about her becoming more aware of her own choices and the costs of them. Which made her whole relationship with Xena deeper and herself more strong and responsible.
I think I remember there being controversy around this episode...🤔🤔
