You got some balls for doing this with no damage, damn man. Respect.
Boss list:
Boss 1: Headless Shrek
Boss 2: Burning Clifford
Boss 3: Kracko
Boss 4: Buncha Larvae
Boss 5: Astaroth, Twin Shrek, Twin Astaroth, Shrek and Kracko
Boss 6: Lord of the flies
Final boss: De Deval
He's good .lol😀
It's so surreal to me to see Astaroth as a regular enemy/midboss. Sure, he has never been the big bad since his original appearance, but at least in every game except this one he's still an endgame boss.
Truly embarrassing it must be to be defeated by a half naked man Astaroth will never live it down.
I love Capcoms music style around this time. You hear it in Forgotten Worlds, Strider, etc. Almost lo-fi sounding with little clicks and taps.
Yes!! Agree 100%
Oh strider the sound track there was VARY impressive they put work into it game was a gem too
This was even the second game to run on CPS-1 hardware
This game was Dark souls before Dark Souls
I thought the same thing!
Definitely, Dark Souls took some cues from this one. Though... The 2x playthrough to get the good ending is a dick move imo.
@Bas Wenmakers Super GnG is a different game but yeah, it's brutal too
I dont know what dark souls is but i guess its a kids game . This was no kids game
@@youremybiggestfan Pretty brutal ARPG by FromSoftware. It's gotten memed a lot because of its difficulty. It's easier than this is on the hard modes, but that doesn't mean DS is a kids game in the least bit, in fact most quit pretty early on. Pretty great series too, learning to master the DS games is one of the most enjoyable aspects of it and you really get to feel the reward of finally beating whatever you're trying to beat, kind of like this except in a much larger, longer and slower paced game, not to say that you don't need to make lightning fast decisions in that. I'd definitely recommend trying it out.
So, it said that Arthur made his weapons better and infused them with magic? Why did he forget to make his armor better so it didn't go FLYING off of his body with ONE FREAKING HIT?!?
when you focus on strength and forgot to even 2 point your hp and endurance
"The best defence is attack-"
@@SRUFUS3D *i n d e e d*
For real. Fucking prick
I think he secretly liked being naked.
Capcom definitely need release a Ghouls and Goblins ultimate collection for the ps4 with every version of this game.
And a Nintendo Switch port, too!👍👍
@@rockylopez7846 hey, at least we got the original 2 in the NES and SNES Classics
GHOSTS N' GOBLINS IS BACK!!
@@tablettablet3028 Waahoo!!!! That's awesome!
Nah. It's better for Nintendo. Kinda started it all from there.
2:20 Oh, hi Kracko!
Puyo!!
He got so tired of losing to Kirby, he figured he’d try a different game
So, I wasnt the only one who thought hat
@JustAMotobug i mean, to have a game you need the story to tell it, not do the story while telling it, so we can assume Kracko lost to Kirby before the GB game so Sakurai could make the story, then Kracko moved to Ghouls n' Goblins Arcade
One of the hardest games I’ve ever played
You ain't lying
I'm sure you also played its sequel, Super Ghouls n' Ghosts, that one is even harder.
I forgot how unreasonable some of these fights were. No surprise I never beat the arcade version, only the Sega Genesis one.
'Unreasonable' would assume that people parachuting in on the game would simply not be able to do it...and yet, playing the game on Capcom Classic Collection, while it took me a while, I was eventually able to do it. And hey, it put me on the road to getting the soundtrack, which was the real reward.
Haha you'd need 10 years of bday and Crimbo money in 50p pieces
Arcade versions are never made to be beat. They’re made to take your coins :))
Congraturation.
You did it bucko.
But the princess is in another castle. . .
But hey, you defeater Lucifer, so that's a plus.
Yes, you defeater Ghouls n Ghouts. Congraturation!
Omg memories!
This is best of my childhood for arcade game
Rules to beat this game:
1- get the knife
2-get the godamit knife!
3- GET THE FUCKING KNIFE!
You actually don’t get the 🔪, you always need to get the g o l d e n a r m o u r
And the irony armour.
I like how you are not shooting up or down in the early bosses to make the fight last more than 3 seconds. Thank you
Jeez, forgot how good this looks and sounds on arcade.
6:37 Is it just me or did that bullet just go trough him
Usually the hit box in this kind of games are merciless and he would have died right there
You caught that, too? Even though the bullet nipped his leg, that should've registered as a hit. Case closed.
Yeah a few of those hits landed but didn't do anything makes you wonder why.
I also enjoy the fact that the guy playing doesn't know he can shoot up
@@cecilrichardson2494 same happens in Toki. The legs don't have hitbox
And you included the ending too..awesome!
Ce jeu m'a rendu fou,à l'époque je ne l'ai jamais finis hélas,tu joues avec une telle facilité:)
I always thought that this game was easier than the other (early) GnG games. I was able to get through level 3 with no damage, and then level 4 ruined me. I'm sure if I practiced more I could pull off a no-damage run.
I can understand if Level 4 is destroying you especially because its boss, Ohme, is pretty damn cheap most of the time
I could never get past that bloody flying thing. It touches you once and you're dead, but there was no way to avoid it on the Amiga version!
Take a key for coming in! Love the syntax!
What sucks about this game is you have to play all of the same level twice before facing the final boss.
Well it's not as bad are original, where you have to play the entire GAME twice in a row to beat it.
Yep
I believe it defined a generation by doing so. It taught determination. In a sick, twisted, absolutely horrendous way .
@@OhCrapI_Hethe first three games are always like that where you MUST complete it twice to reach the true ending
This is the first time I've seen all these fights and I love how much overlap this has with the SNES version I played as a kid. Was the SNES's Cockatrice supposed to be a reskinned Shielder?
2:13 A Kracko knockoff.
Didnt this boss technically come first?
Actually both Kracko and Gassuto are based off of some japanese mythical mosnter or something like that.
In a game released years before the first Kirby game? Nice try tho.
Fire doesn't hurt him at 1:23?
He just throw a lance x)
Arthur just threw the lance right before that fireball was about to hit him
@@arthursnyder6935nice
Shields looks like the first dragon in mission 1 of Demon’s Crest.
6:37 invincibility
That's what I was thinking . but never played it so . giving the benefit of the doubt and saying it was the game mechanics. Although it was only boss fights . hmmm. Pondering
@@killhacker5776 06:38 Collision with a shot of the boss.... Invincibility
@@marcodragoni9720 good eye. 🖖
Nothing to say except Bravo 👏👏👏
I began to enjoy this game again after I became full-grown up man.... I pretty enjoyed it when I was a kid..
Excellent!!!
Awesome dude!!
OMG! I just searched for this to see if you already made it!
Ha this goes perfectly with the new FGO Halloween event thanks!
God job my friend !! +1 like 😉
Congraturation!
I hope they make another character playable from ghost n goblins besides arthur and firebrand.
Lucifer can't even be bothered to stand up to fight.
Its Loki.
@@nightowl8363that's for the Genesis version of this but in the arcade version he's called Lucifer
Apart from the genesis version you could do Ultimate Ghouls n Goblins for the psp.
There was also Super Ghouls n' Ghosts for the SNES and heck, Mega Man 7 paid a small homage to this where holding the "B" Button (Square Button if you're playing the Anthology Collection on the PS2) when selecting Shade Man would play a remix of the first level's theme. Both series were made by Capcom, so it makes sense!
@@georgecortes3416Shade Man has to be alive to get the easter egg to work
That final boss is so much better than the final one on SNES.
Both are easy.
Hi Shadowserg. Your videos are cool. Can you do Ghosts n Goblins bosses no damage or Maximo Ghosts of Glory bosses no damage? I like seeing bosses die.
I love the ghouls n ghosts games
can you do Sinner no hit run XD ?
the game are practically all about boss fight
Does anyone remember that Ghosts N' Goblins game made for the Wonderswan?
this game in mood.
As great as this game is, the sound effects in this version are like someone brushing and pinging on the game's sound chip.
I promise, it sounds quite a bit different on the Genesis version, the version in the video isn’t as good.
You feel the strongth welling in you. Challenge again!
Lucifer : a fallen Archangel who was one of the four great angels of Heaven. Being exiled to Hell must make him vengeful, making him an unmatchable foe, due he's now the king of Hell
Died by multiple magic knives
by a mere mortal who was only wearing his underwear.
And his angel rival
Amazing !!!!! 😃😃😃😃
I think this was one of the first 32-bit arcade games BEFORE the 16-bit consoles came.
All these years . and I just realized aurthur s armour is the the same as nights of the round . be cool to get this on a cassette . lots of great arcade cabinet games out there . nes boys like me only got the dumbed down version . example ragar
This game is the Dark Souls of spelling errors
nah, that's easily the first game. Absolutely brutal typos.

2:13 krako
Huh, the 3rd boss was the only one who didn't get into the remake
2:20
Kracko, is that you?
I know its from 1988 but didn't they had anyone to improve the spellings of this game? and the endings
prologue didn't make much since. either.
MrDiablolord 1127 - Back in these days the developers generally didn’t have international localization teams for every country/language. Games were made by much smaller teams with no assistance from outside Japan.
It wasn’t like today where bigger budgets exist and translation and voice acting is done outside of Japan by dedicated teams of native speakers.
The English is awkward because the Japanese developers were not native English speakers, and most were done internally by whoever on the team spoke English as a second language.
Imagine trying to write Japanese dialogue, as an English speaker. We laugh at this stuff now, but it was hard.
Oh I get you now I think
Do you want to know what I have to say about most of the sound effects on here?
Ouch...
They sound a lot better on arcade hardware compared to emulation... but they still hurt
1:23 how is that not a hit ?
The fire hit box connected with his weapon hit box. It was close though.
@@Joseph-nx5gv shit, didn't knew hitbox was so realistic in this game
nice
Is it called ghouls and goblins or ghost and goblins
Yes.
The first game is called Ghosts 'n Goblins.
This is the second game, Ghouls 'n Ghosts.
The third game is on the SNES and is called Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts.
The most recent major release is Ultimate Ghosts 'n Goblins on the PSP.
There are a few other games in the series, but I'd say these 4 are the most well-known.
