Daisy and Boco are both quite underrated characters, as is Mavis, they all should have gotten more roles in the TV series! Diesel was overused abit too much.
I think it's really sad that Daisy got completely shafted in the TVS. She only appeared in 2 episodes in the second series, she wasn't at the Tidmouth Christmas party in TATMCT, her role in "Mavis" was given to Diesel & she was completely absent from the 5th-8th series. I would've loved to see stories like "Snow Problem" & "Thomas comes home" adapted to the TVS.
@@AdmiralBlackstar Daisy & BoCo appeared together in "Rusty to the rescue" and Daisy had a fake bogie made for her there, I don't see why they couldn't do it there.
@@brenlc1412 Real world reason? Because that was a much later episode where they thought of that. And that also wasn't them. Those models were just reused to pretend to be BR railway diesels, while most of those characters should've been back on Sodor.
I like her most in books as a person, but the model daisy, although she has very little screen time, but in my opinion she is just beautiful. (cgi good too).
Funny enough, I actually just got a 92-94 wooden railway Daisy as a Christmas gift not too long ago. Also, just a suggestion, but maybe the next one could be Arry and Bert/ Splodge? Idk
The only thing that annoyed me about Daisy was how small her cabin was. It was not big enough for anyone to stand in, but it's interesting to know that this was addressed in the CGI series.
Considering Daisy was the very first Thomas character I ever saw, she actually holds a special place in my heart. And it kind of upsets me that she's at Drayton Manor.
Daisy is a really lovely character. in my opinion, the most beautiful of all female characters in TV series. it's a pity that in the model series she was given so little screen time, and after that she was forgotten in the HiT era.
The reason why you can count all of Daisy's appearances in the Model Series on one hand is because her model was troublesome to work with. Even though Daisy was prominently featured in the Railway Series books, her role in the TV series adaptation of "Mavis" was taken by Devious Diesel. Daisy appears a lot more in the CGi series, having several "A Day in the Limelight" episodes and being seen in several other episodes as a supporting character, but that's probably because CGi was easier for the producers to work with.
It's funny, I never had any merchandise of Daisy or any of her episodes on DVD/VHS, but even so she's a really nostalgic character for me. I remember one day my Mom had to leave to pick up my Dad from work and put the TV on for me while she was gone, she found Thomas put it on and there was Daisy in her debut episode. I enjoyed the episode but always thought it was weird how she seemingly disappeared afterwards and always kind of hoped to see more of her.
Alright we’ve covered most characters if not 98% of the ffarquhar branch, but there’s one character left to do… And his Name is **TERENCE THE TRACTOR**
3:59 - Correct me if I’m wrong. This is an excerpt from her first episode: Daisy, on the other hand, was feeling cheerful. “Oooooo! Oooooo!” She tooted.
I do enjoy your videos very interesting, can you please do more model videos on tugs? I know you had issues with certain people not liking it but I did and so like to know more about Grampus.
One thing somewhat annoying about Daisy, is the fact that she rides so high. If you look at her along side platforms, she sits a good scale three feet above the platform surface. This was done due to the limitations of the model, having to put the eye mechanism in there, as well as to make it easier to see her face. The original drawings showing a much smaller face. Interestingly, the CGI model worked to correct this somewhat.
Daisy’s facemasks had her fake eyelashes removed during calling all engines and replaced with painted eyelashes, along with eyebrows and teeth on her smiling face
I wonder how they applied her eyelashes. She was the only one with actual false eyelashes applied to her face - something that made her unique. I wonder if that will be possible for her bachmann model - or if it’ll be too difficult
Look up how doll artists apply false lashes. There's a few different ways but I think they simply used a pair of regular wispy eyelashes (you can buy these in the makeup aisle for

I couldn’t agree more man!
BoCo is not under rated just criminally underused. He is a very popular character up there with Edward, Duck, Oliver, James and Duke
Don't forget Henry
They are most definetly not underrated
@@merlinandmurdoch7837 if not underrated, then underused later on. Boco had quite abit of appearances but Daisy only had a few in s2 and 4.
Do you know when this video started and was talking about the Great Depression, for a moment there I thought I clicked on the wrong video. XD

The christmas party is because she and Boco share the same chassis and therefore can't be in the same shot at the same time.

@@AdmiralBlackstar So you're telling me in 1986 nobody thought: "Let's make a fake Bogie for Daisy so she can appear at the party."?

Drayton Manor has claimed another victim. (At least they aren’t letting people touch the models like a certain other talking vehicle trust group.)

I would love to see one for elizabeth...she is a very interesting underused character that i believe had at least 3 models and a close up model
And also maybe Arthur as well

The floorboards deserve their time to shine.
I'll have some of your floorboards please
Henry the Green Engine I only swept the floor this morning.

Remove Daisy's makeup and you have Boco.

Technically they are brother and sister because they're the same Diesel model
Sad that she’s at Drayton Manor, pulling a tanker when it bad for her swerves
If someone could steal her like how someone stole Toby, she would be safe. (As of July of 2022, she returned to storage.)

I loved how you could see her eye mechanism move inside her cab in some shots and the wires/motor in the back
Agreed man, she was very much a reminder that they were models and I really loved the vibe of it
You know come to think of it that explains why we never see Boco and Daisy together
2:09 I’ve never ever seen the thumbnail of Daisy’s updated model head on promo before 😃😃
George Carlin gave her a great voice. The snark and sarcasm fits her perfectly.
Yesterday I just watched loads of your Thomas model history's and to see today we got a new video is such a joy!
My suggestion from the past is finally a reality! Great to see a daisy history vid!
“Note the crack in her rear end”
*WHEEEZE*
I waited so long for this video
Sure does feel like a fat minute since you last did one of these! Daisy is a character I prefer in the TVS because the makeup added to her character.
Daisy is a great character!

Must admit, the opening fooled me. I was trying to figure out how the 1929 Crash had anything to do with Daisy 🤣
Daisy is such a cool charcter not a evil diesel but not a nice diesel a more snooty one like you said
The reason why you can count all of Daisy's appearances in the Model Series on one hand is because her model was troublesome to work with. I think that trackmaster 2 james was suppose to have a bogey wheel but flyinn was a flopp so the didnt make it special
