All of these early season characters are so iconic. It's a shame Terence got neglected after season two onwards, he fills a pretty unique role in the show's universe and could have been used a lot more. It's great to see how they made him in the first place Trainboy, thanks for the upload my dude!

For me, Terence is a character I can relate to mostly due to the fact that coming from a farm myself it was nice to see another vehicle type in TTTE, and also because I happen to have a somewhat newer cousin to Terence's Model sitting in the shed. They should have definately used him more, I could've seen the show doing a spin off starring the road vehicles and potentially terence's own shed mates that are never truly mentioned or seen in the series... I also have a headcanon about him on the TTTE subreddit if you wish to see
I've got a John Deere MC Crawler that I nicknamed Terence from grow up watching Thomas The Tank Engine lol your right it would have been cool to have a show based on Terence

The size of Sodor perplexes me, having something like 30 locomotives, dozens of stations, many, many cases of rolling stock- and one tractor to clean out the entire island. It is ALWAYS Terence. I don't recall EVER seeing another tractor. What the heck? Terence is always there. Terence will protect you.
Terence has one of the best themes in the show, and one of the coolest models too. It's a shame he wasn't see that much after the Classic Model Series, but I'm glad we got to see him again in CGI before the reboot.
Kinda a fun fact Tamiya models back then had the ability to become RC controlled vehicles and Terence most likely uses the poly caps used in whichever Tiger I was released at the time for Tamiya

I honestly think that Terence's CGI model is 50/50 in terms of detail. Sure, he lost his widow's peak but at least he obviously had more facial expressions than he did in the model series, eh? And those eyebrows are kind of neat.

Interesting coincidence you would upload this today when a massive snow storm hit my home town and I had to cautiously drive to work to avoid getting in an accident or stuck in snow and Terence's debut story is of him rescuing Thomas from a snow drift.
I think the drawing of Terence with the cab is potentially supposed to be "canon" as some open cab tractors had removable cab roofs, I am unsure if Terence's basis had any from the factory, but a farmer or rancher would be likely to make a custom one out of wood if they wanted to, just drill a few holes in a couple spots and bolt the pieces in. But that's my opinion in regards to the illistration. It's just a custom roof the farmer made to protect themselves from any particularly bad weather conditions. Anyone else got an idea?
I love all of these history videos of the characters and the show I'm 33 and still watch Thomas The Tank Engine!! Could you do a video of the earth moving equipment that were on for a few seasons? I can't remember all their names but there were 2 excavators and a front shovel !!

Weirdly this is not the only place that Legos have been found in the model series a number of long plate pieces in black and gray have been seen as set dressing on a number of station sets most famous that I’ve seen being in a shot of James at Maron I believe in one of the earlier seasons the exact episode I can’t quite remember.
My favorite Terence episode had to be when he made his debut in Thomas and the Snowplow. I don't know why but I just couldn't get enough of his theme as a kid. One of the few things that bothers me with Terence are why he was given a widow's peak and how much larger he looks in the TV series.
You should definitely talk about Big Mickey at some point. Not the most significant Thomas character, but nonetheless has a tragic but fascinating history.

As soon as I seen the thumbnail the music from "Don't Judge a Book By It's Cover" started to run through my head. Terence the Tractor was one that I loved as a kid. I had the Ertl toy of him and it went with me to a lot of places. And no, I don't like his CGI look. With the longer face and no hair he looks creepy to me somehow. XP

I miss Terence having his hairline in his CGI form, but overall I think Arc/Jam-Filled did a nice job on his model. Of course I prefer the original model, but I like both all the same. You should do Lady from TATMR as one of these History Of videos at some point. I imagine you'd have a LOT to talk about her, and there's even an interesting backstory as to how Lady's life size model got to the point where its at now! (before Restore The Magic pulled that donations scam...)

Of all the CGI redesigns, I think Terence's least captured the essence of his original model. It's always kind of creeped me out.
