I could care less about Jared Leto, I'm just hear for the visuals and music. Tron Legacy was one of my favorite films of all time and it defined what you could do on the big screen for a long time. This has easily become my most hyped movie of 2025.

And to be fair Tron Legacy is better and more watchable than the OG Tron. The OG Tron bombed in the box office because people didn't like the writing and characters.

Love tron. It was an epoch advancement in filmmaking and had a legit storyline/philosophy behind it. Actually borrowing from quite a few different philosophies. Bridges is the PERFECT conduit for this. So far ahead of its time and I'm always looking forward to another chapter. That said, it kills me to see jared Leto DESTROY yet another franchise. This vapid and hollow narcissist is the kiss of death. Why would they choose him over so many other well deserving actors with higher quality that would help illuminate the ethos of Tron? Big disappointment.
Oh kiddo. It's more complex than that. The studio needs to be able to afford the cast in their budget, get scheduling, and those actors need to accept the role too. The writers might also not be able to connect their film to the old one due to IP issues, rights, or continuity set by the studio. There is so much complexity to making movies, it's a miracle they end up so good as they are. There are 10s of thousands of people working on each of these big studio projects. So stop complaining, and just enjoy the movie.

The whole point was Clu trying to overtake the real world by creating an army and kevin flynn sacrificed himself to not allow that, and now Ares just comes in that easy into the real world? It’s an odd idea and seems like it completely disregards the original movies yet they include Jeff Bridges and Dillinger. I hope they don’t mess this up.
This looks to be set in an alternate space…one where the MCP was outright destroyed or lied dormant. Just from how it’s phrased. Plus there is the whole Dillinger Protocol from the Tron Legacy ARG
As a storytelling element, a reoccurring threat is perfectly acceptable. The question then becomes how the threat will be met each time. Instead of a whole army threatening to invade from the Grid, a single AI actually does it. That leaves room for a whole new story.
They already messed it up lol. The series is titled "Tron" after a character in the original move and the second movie. Now it is "Tron Ares" making it no longer about Tron, but another computer program (while still being named after the character) because corporations like to treat stories and characters like brands. It could still be a good movie - But I'd almost rather they not call it "Tron" anything.
going off of the teasers we've already seen its safe to say that chances are incredibly high. an insane amount of missed potential and it lowkey ignores 90% of the things that are exclusive to a tron experience.

Tron's the kinda show where you can put a mask on everyone and it can easily be a 8/10 show. Showing the humanity in this world can make it a 10/10 for Tron fans. Sadly, we might not get either version which means we could get anything from a 1/10 to 10/10.
My biggest disappointment with this film is that Bruce Boxleitner, aka Tron, is not in it, and that it's not a direct sequel to Tron Legacy, meaning that the loose ends of that film will be left hanging (probably). But I am NOT disappointed that Jared Leto is in it. I think he gets a bad rap. He is a good actor who has been in a couple of bad movies. He should not be judged based on them.

Jared Leto has been involved in Tron since 2009. Tron Legacy director Joseph Kosinski cast him as Ares for the canceled Tron Ascension. Leto is perfect for Tron Ares and he made the project a reality. Don't hate him.
Daft Punk is good but they are not the only musicians who can do TRON. There is also Wendy Carlos (who did the music for the original film in '82), Louis Cole and KNOWER, NIN, Skrillex (sp?), Joseph Trapanese (did the music for TRON Uprising), hell I bet even FLYING LOTUS and THUNDERCAT could do music for TRON films😉. . .

Man that recognizer design and choosing to cast Leto in this movie really makes me question my expectations. The beauty in Tron's design language was always the brutalism and lack of weird details, everything felt like it had a purpose and was much more meaningful than weird curvy lines and extra greebly bits. Then theres Leto's past performances which speak for themselves

Rolling my eyes at Jared Leto. This is Tron. It's supposed to be a fun adventure but they are taking themselves way to seriously. It should be more like Reboot the series not Apocalypse Now.
Man that recognizer design and choosing to cast Leto in this movie really makes me question my expectations. The beauty in Tron's design language was always the brutalism and lack of weird details, everything felt like it had a purpose and was much more meaningful than weird curvy lines and extra greebly bits. Then theres Leto's past performances which speak for themselves
I think Jared Leto is an underrated actor, a couple of bad movies that had poor writing gave him a bad name. He is a decent actor, and too often people judge upcoming movies and shows before they have even seen them. Its why I ignore most people’s opinions, people are too quick to judge with no info.
