I love how Trapp gets a Nat 20 to clock that Avanash is "full crazy" but since everyone else failed, it mostly just makes HIM look crazy for insisting they can't trust him.

Matt, forever DM, who is so clearly relishing actually getting to PLAY for once, having the WILDEST dice swings in the game is just such a delight to watch. He's having so much fun.
I'd say do the Nat 1s but it'd just be Matt.

Yeah I've watched a couple games where Matt is a PC and...all his characters are amazingly interesting...and can't do anything because of the rolls.
Matt's nat 20 with the Griefmaker immediately followed by two nat 1's is like the best moment, lolol.

Those rolls had a very Murph energy to them.
Favorite has to be Matt clutching the grapple check and the perception checks when falling out of the sky.

Definitely the best side campaign. I found out about Critical Role from this and while it’s not exactly my style, I am happy to have multiple DnDs shows to enjoy.

Don't get me wrong, I love the main cast, but this was my favorite season. More than any other, I hope THIS campaign gets a sequel ala Dimension 20 LIVE after Crown of Candy is done airing.

Proposal:
Video on all the shenanigan suggestions by players. For example Hilda Hilda, Riz's gun shoot at the halfpipe battle, Fig trying to handbrake turn the car, lilith having the ship as an ally, Kristen's ribbon fall etc etc.
Basically moments where players come up with batshit insane ideas or solutions and Brennan rolls with it for better or worse. I love those moments as they display how insanely creative the players are within their worlds and how good Brennan is as a DM to accommodate their insane ideas.
Kristen reviving and going to Heaven on a Nat 20 would definitely be included.
I nominate Kristen "flying" to get to the bottom of the tower faster than everyone else... and... "succeeding"

This whole campaign reminded me of Wreck-it-Ralph. Specifically, "Just because you are bad guy does not mean you are bad guy."
I love every season of Dimension 20, but Escape From the Bloodkeep is just so, so wonderful. The cast, the arc, the whole thing.

I love how even if he wants to say no so badly he lets her reaction rob him of his critical hit because not only is it fair with how she’s made her character the entire time, he recognizes that it’s a lot more enjoyable for everyone if it happens and is ok with being thrown for a loop every now and then
I love the last bit, Brennan going full good-guy-DM and letting the storytelling effort a player has put in speak volumes... Even though he crit.

@@Froggeh92 it took me a while to get into it- probably the longest of any of the seasons. But in the end I really enjoyed the characters and was glad I watched it. I would recommend powering through, if you have the time. It's good as background noise if it doesn't end up sticking to ya, lol

That griefmaker ability is wild and awesome. In a campaign where everyone's already stacked, on a critical hit which is already supposed to be something awesome, let's instead make it a chance to high roll even more in a double or nothing style mechanic.

does Brennan usually allow Nat 20s to succeed anyway? I haven't watched it, so while he may have added it wrong, his ruling might be consistent
I've seen the ghost mystery clip where someone did a Nat 20 to summon a ghost, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's allowed even if he said the roll was 31

A nat 20 always succeeds I believe
Brennan as a GM treats nat 20s as auto-successes, same with nat 1s being auto-fails. So even if he got the exact number wrong when he did the math, as long as he didn’t also roll a nat 20, Matt still would’ve won that one

while the 21 should really be 29 if it was +12, the ruling would work either way if Brennan allows crits to auto-succeed even on non-weapon attacks
