Rammstein is the most successful German rock band worldwide. But nationally, the Onkelz are by far the most successful rock band to this day, although they hardly tour anymore. The Onkelz no longer do normal concerts, but Onkelz festivals lasting several days and always sold out. The Rent Formula 1 tracks to get all the fans in.

the Onkelz are around for a very long time, i think since the early 80´s and they were much better in their young age. if you want to react to some more songs than have a look on their live-recordings from Vienna and Dortmund... songs like "Nie wieder", "Nur die Besten sterben jung" or "Erinnerung" are real classics.

And no....they were different in their youth, but better....not really.
I remember this concert in 2015. The moment Kevin came on stage .... wow. 2014 was good, but this was the best performance from Kevin, since at least two decades.

do you remember your reaction to Die Ärzte - Schrei nach Liebe? There's this line: "Zwischen Störkraft und den Onkelz steht 'ne Kuschelrock-LP" (th-cam.com/video/7Zy4K_VnWxQ/w-d-xo.html) Yes. They mean them Onkelz here, at least in their first years mostly right wing oriented. In the your reaction video it was translated but you shook your head in misunderstanding, so: the line means the guy from that song listens to hard right (Störkraft and Onkelz) but also soft rock (Kuschelrock, literally cuddle rock) music)
Die Ärzte tend to change some lines in some concerts to make the songs more fun or make the message more clear, so in the end of 90s, early 2000s they often played "Zwischen Störkraft und den Ander'n" (Störkraft and the others), meaning there are more rightwing bands out there besides Störkraft and the Onkelz. But the old Onkelz fans cheered on them as they finally would have "understood" that Onkelz do not belong to the right wings by removing them from the song. As soon as this came up to Die Ärzte, they immediately put the original lyrics back in place to make clear: Onkelz always have been and always will be a right wing band.
The Onkelz themselves have often declared that they do not belong to the right and even have expelled right-wing fans from their concerts. However, they also admit to having committed youthful sins in their early years and that they would never record such songs again. Some explicitly right-wing bands then even made songs about the Onkelz, calling them backstabbers who had given up their own values for money by making songs that better suited popular opinions.

if you wanna dive deeper into the Onkelz rabbit hole, I really suggest to watch the documentary "40 Jahre - ein kurzer Abriss der Geschichte" (40 years - a short history). It is available on their official YT channel with english subtitles: th-cam.com/video/_GkH2outALQ/w-d-xo.html It gives you an understanding where they come from and put many of their songs into perspective as they were written in a certain context. This band is in my opinion THE most authentic german band period! Like one said: " Every beer they sing about, they drunk it, every brawl, they fought it out, every drug hell, they've been through it!
BTW, they played 4 shows on following weekends ( this video is one of them) and I've been to 3 of them 😉

I don't think the person they are describing is caring about politics at all. More like somebody who is too cowardly to stand up to his boss and then takes out his frustration on his wife and who is basically just a very miserable person over all, without any hopes or dreams regarding his personal life. Probably some kind of lowlife, too. Böhse Onkelz do have a lot of "motivational" songs, so the massage in this one could also be "don't be like that guy".
