  • Anyone can make this nano tank. It’s low budget and doesn’t require much maintenance.
    The fish inside are very active and a good choice for a nano aquarium and they are.
    If you have any questions, let’s meet in the comments.
    Thanks for watching!

    Absolutely love it.
    I am totally new to aquariums and your channel is one of the many where I gather information while I prepare for my own project. You're previous big tank inspired me to to the same and I ordered a custom 60 gallon tank for my living room.
    Since the waiting time was 6 to 8 weeks I decided to buy a 5 gallon aquarium to put on my windowsill and start that up while I wait for the big one. Under the motto: "One needs to learn how to walk before one runs"
    Your soothing voice and tranquil music is an added extra bonus 🤣

    I've been enjoying your videos today. I see this is a 3.5 gallon tank. Question for you. If you go to the fish store and ask for 10 rasboras and they ask "for what size tank?" do you get judgemental eyes? If so, what do you tell them? I'm not judging at all because clearly your builds are stable and happy and with lots of the right kind of plants and tiny fish & shrimp, the bioload is less impactful but do you ever encounter snooty fish shop people who try to talk you out of of it? If so, what do you say?

      I haven't encountered such a topic. However, I would explain to them how the tank is set up. This is entirely about the environment we create for the living beings. I could set up such a bad aquarium that even if it were 1,000 gallons, it could be deadly for these tiny fish.

      I've used compost mixed with soil in mine. As long as you know it's chemical free, you should be good. Sometimes it can lead to a nutrient spike, but only during the set up and you usually don't have animals in those first weeks anyway. If you do have animals, just do daily water checks changes as needed to help keep things balanced.

    What i miss on your channel (and almost all youtubers with very good content), is a video for real beginners with a small budget. I know you have some budget video's but then you have always some wood, or stone or plants from other projects that you use in that scape. (and looking online at prices for wood, stone, snails, shrimps, fish and plants that can add up quickly).
    What i need as a beginner is a video where in someone has a tank + light and a budget (lets say € 300), then make a plan for the scape and plants and take that plan and budget to a aquarium store and show people what the best buys are for that budget and in what cases it is totaly up to their preference.
    That doesn't mean that i don't like your content at the moment, but for a starting scaper i can not use a € 2000 budget and make something, for starters i don't have that money laying around, but also as a starter you can make mistakes and even don't like the hobby at all, so then all money is lost.
    I hope you can help me with this.

    PSA on putting garden soil in your tank... It can off gas and your fish may not survive...

    • @peaceofnaturee
      @peaceofnaturee  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you don’t disturb the soil there won’t be problem.

    • @MouseyFiles
      @MouseyFiles 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@peaceofnaturee we are going to have to agree to disagree on that one. In my experience I didn't disturb the soil.and it still off gassed. Ive noticed a lot of fishkeeping TH-cam channels not explain this is something that can happen. Which is information that a beginner would find helpful.

      You should wait for a few weeks before put fish in it. If everything is okay with your aquarium you don’t have ti change water.
