    Curious as to how you fire proofed this item. I’m seeing a lot of wood and know that BGEs can get super hot.

    Nice job but if built from pine it will not age well. Build one using cedar and all terrain casters.

    What about the heat! The egg grill gets extremly "hot". will it burn up the cabinet?

    Have you had any issues with the bottom of the smoker burning the wood that it sits on?

    • @dighawaii1
      @dighawaii1 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      most people use a paver (flat concrete block) to sit the grill on. make sure to account for the height of the paver when planning shelf height from top.

    Is the top waterproof? What I'm asking is if it gets rained on, can water get into the cabinet behind the doors?

      At the 9:10 mark he said that he clear coated the entire cabinet twice so that it would be ok if it got wet while outside.

    I don’t see how that will last if it sits out in the elements.

    Hey, in the PDF plans for the egg it says the width is 42” for the compact table and 58” for the long table. Just wondering if you made this table similar to the compact table or the long table?

    • @BellmanWoodworkingAndDesigns
      @BellmanWoodworkingAndDesigns  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Definitely the longer table. This was about 50 inches long. I wanted enough room to set a tray of meat down before putting it on the smoker.

      More power! There is not a cut list in his plans but photos show dimensions for most of the pieces. A cut list would be awesome though.

    • @BellmanWoodworkingAndDesigns
      @BellmanWoodworkingAndDesigns  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      As far as I know it has been fine for the person I made it for. He is a friend of mine and has had no complaints. Many people place paving stones underneath. You could possibly do the same thing.

      Its says right in the PDF to not put it directly on wood. Also on a Facebook page with Eggheads like myself their table started to burn because the put it directly on wood

    • @paulwilliams819
      @paulwilliams819 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was also wondering about the wood burning or charring. I think if you put a couple layers of carbon felt in between the table top and grill, it should be just fine. th-cam.com/video/O3eAPxmgzDM/w-d-xo.html

    • @DonWestphal
      @DonWestphal 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I dont know. I still think you'll get alot ot heat transfer with the cloth.

    • @BellmanWoodworkingAndDesigns
      @BellmanWoodworkingAndDesigns  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just read this too. Not sure how I missed it before. I am going to check on the one I made and get back everyone in it’s current condition. I would strongly encourage a barrier between the egg and the wood.
