Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa shared the field on this night. Who would have known at the time that eight years later, they would be engaged in the greatest home run race in baseball history
Great game to watch. Lance Johnson and Dave Henderson were the stars. First base umpire blew a couple of calls, calling both Steinbach and Johnson out when they beat the throw. Great game, thanks for uploading
ESPN showed a TON of baseball its first year (this year), so they needed a lot of announcers, many of whom weren't around for long past 1990. ESPN's contract called for the traditional Sunday night exclusive game, a Wednesday night game, and doubleheaders on both Tuesdays and Fridays. That's at least 6 games a week, and some of those timeslots had regional coverage on top of that.
White Sox pushed my A's all year. I thought having to get pushed would help them in the LCS and World Series...it seemed that way against Boston. Then we went to Cincinnati.
Old Comiskey. What a beauty.
RIP John Saunders, Dave Henderson, Bob Welch
Also RIP Bob Welch
Thanks for posting these. I love these games between the AL West rivals. I just find this channel so entertaining.

My favorite Sox team. I loved going to games during this season. Made me a fan.
Carlton "Pudge" Fisk lead the the 1990 Chicago White Sox in homeruns with 18 at the age of 42 years old.
thanks uploader!
This is the year Welch won the Cy Young award. And won 27 games. We'll never see starters win that many games in a season again.
Also the year Thigpen saved 57. Very cool game.
Hrm, didn't know Jim Palmer did some work for ESPN.

I called it the "Campbell's Soup" C on the Sox caps during this era.

They spelled Lance Blankenship's name wrong when he joined the game around 1:20:56
lol they finally correct Lance Blankenship's name at 2:11:36 after displaying it incorrectly a few more times.
