#Backtofall I'm starting homeschool with my 5 and 10 year old this year and we are super excited but I have little to no support with family and friends so I come to people like you who motivate me! I had my son when I was 16 (my 10 year old now) so most people just assume I'm not educated enough to homeschool (which I know isn't true) I also want to re learn everything with my kids and dive deeper than public school. We are taking a relaxed homeschool approach as I believe learning comes naturally by observing family friends and your elders (but obviously some subjects need more time and focus to learn like reading and math). I'm so proud of how far I've come in life and excited on where we are going as a family. (Homesteading is the next dream so I'm taking little steps towards that as well!) I have my own business (reborns by kristen) and I'm able to stay home with my kiddos all day so why not take advantage and make sure they have the best upbringing! Thank you for being my support and motivation that I've desperately needed! 🖤

I love your story! My mom was a young, high school educated homeschooling mom (she had me when she was 20), and I was homeschooled through 7th grade. I was a year ahead of all my classmates when I went into public school in 8th grade, and my mom later went back to school, got her masters in education, and is principal of her elementary school this year.
You have totally got this!! ❤️

My school plan this year is slowly beginning kindergarten with my 3 1/2 year old. I think we’ve both been excited and we’re feeding off each other’s excitement so much that he flew through his preschool and loved it! It’s definitely early, to the point where I’m almost embarrassed because it may sound to family and friends like I’m pressuring him. But we’re excited!! And taking it slowly, just focusing on having a good foundation with enjoying learning with zero pressure.
We’re doing the Good and The Beautiful and we love it. He’s actually already starting to read and it felt effortless, which is not what I expected at all. All of this has felt so easy so far and I am so grateful!!

Listening to you share about home school brings back so many fond memories for me. My kids would be considerded the 2nd generation of home school-ers when it really starting catching on. (1995-2005) I had an ADHD boy, and some days he would stand up to do his lessons, and it made a huge difference for him. That would not have been possible in a traditional school setting. Keep up the good work and enjoy it...it flies by!

I have a 2 year old + 7 month old and I have loved doing some homeschool | learning activities with him! I fully plan to homeschool - we’ve been doing a mixture of themed days, where we watch a Daniel Tiger episode in the morning, then venture out to our own local Bakery (if that’s what Daniel did!), then come home and bake ourselves! I’ve been loving trying to pair a Bible story with him to go along with it, (so we did the widow and the oil + Elijah) and how God provides for us the other day. It’s been so fun. Everyday is not themed, for sure, but it’s been such a joy to make seemingly mundane so special + an opportunity to share the Gospel with him!

I, was blessed to homeschool for the last 10 years and I loved every minute of it but, must be honest and say the last year I just wasn’t into it. Our son asked to start school so, he has started 10th grade and joined the cross country team. After living overseas, as full time missionaries, for the last 5 years we just needed to make friends back here in the States. Our son is thriving and we are happy for him. So I can say that we have had kids in public, private schools and I have homeschooled. :). It’s been a beautiful journey.
Our son struggled with reading in the beginning and reading eggs really helped him. :)
Must say that I am sooo EXCITED to not only experience fall, missed it for 5 years, but decorate for it too. :). Love your videos. Thank you for allowing us to be apart of your lives. :). #backtofall

Feeling giddy about back to homeschool this year too! I am teaching 4 school age kiddos with two toddlers around. But I feel peace about it. We use CLE for math & LA and Heart of Dakota for everything else. I am feeling at peace because after 8 years of homeschooling I have finally realized that my teaching style and what works for my kiddos is COMPLETELY unique from everyone else and praise God that we get to do it our own way, with out own kids, in our own home!

I’m so excited for #BacktoFall ! You’ve really inspired me too. My oldest is starting his second year of preschool at home. Our boys actually combined bedrooms about a month ago…which means we now have a homeschool room too!!! His curriculum is play-based, so I’m setting it up as a “learn and play” room. I’m organizing it a little bit more each day. It’s shaping up to be very cute and inspiring. The boys lose themselves playing in there now. And I have a list of decor and furniture upgrades I’m going to chisel away at in time! Thank you for your content and inspiration. I am not blessed with children of my own but I do help my sisters with homeschooling my nieces and nephews. That way if any of them gets sick I can substitute for them or if any of the children get sick they can help take care of whoever is sick without feeling torn between the homeschooling and taking care of the sick kiddo. I always look forward to helping homeschool as it is a joy seeing the children have that light bulb moment when they finally understand what they have learned and can read the whole book and understand what it is saying. Or do the whole math page without help because it clicked. To see that joy of accomplishment in their eyes is priceless. #Backtofall

#backtofall This year I did a momma spirit renewal. Sometimes I can get trapped into a mindset that just glorifies myself almost because when homeschooling and working out of the home its easy for me to get into a all I do head space. Not this year!!!!! So my priority is to enjoy the privilege that God has granted me and to not forget this is a GIFT and to not look at it as a job and sometimes even a burden but a calling which it very much is. It's a special time for my children and I and I cherish so many moments we've shared because of homeschooling. So #backtoschool for us has definitely been buying all the fun supplies and organizing our space which your video helped a ton!!!! But to remember the gift and privilege of spending so many hours teaching and learning with my babies and hoping to create memories that when its all said and done we will look back and cherish and they will know how LOVED they are. This year we chose a homeschool word. Treasure and the verse to accompany it is Matthew 6:21 "For where your treasure is, there your heart be also." My heart this year is the people in my home.

#backtofall Hey Natalie! I have watched your channel since your twins were born. I have fraternal twin boys and they are your boy's age. At the time, I was so nervous to have twins with a 1yr old also running around the house. You encouraged me to push forward and be the best me for them. I now have 6 kiddos and have started homeschooling officially this school year for the first time. My family is so blessed that we're able to homeschool. This has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember. I am excited to teach my children what we want them to learn while focusing on the areas they need more guidance and following their interests. This school year, our main focus is on reading, writing, math, and tying black history into everything. These are areas, my children, struggle in so being able to slow things down for them and create lessons that are unique to them makes a world of difference. Thank you for consistently being humble over the years!

Like you mentioned my intention this year is to simplify things and just enjoy my children and those special moments while I teach them in the comfort of our home. There is something so incredible that happens when you focus on just those core subjects and with a gentle approach while also having that extra time to go on field trips, explore, cuddle with a book and cozy blanket, bake together, or just sit and have a conversation and answer those questions that they ask when wanting to learn about the day to day things! Those are the moments I want to embrace this year! I love this video! You are always inspiring! Your are my favorite to watch!

I’m always inspired by your videos and this one especially!
    #backtofall
I homeschool my son who is at a kindergarten level like your little girl and my preschooler as well as my friend’s second grader. We do “school” 4 days/week. This year my son is also focusing on learning how to read and finishing TGTB level k math. My daughter is doing their preschool course. We also use TGTB handwriting and are trying out their Little Hearts and Hands science. We are also using Before Five and a Row for literature based-content learning. We don’t do everything every day but this is what I mainly draw from! Our main focus is play and spending time outside in our mountain home in Maine. ❤️
Have a wonderful school year and thank you for this inspiring community!

God bless you in your family’s school year! My year will look different - my youngest is off to school full time. This is the first time in 14 years that I don’t have a little one at home with me!

Fall and school time, best time of the year! My daughter starts 6th grade tomorrow. She has some special needs so I made new checklists to put around the house to help the morning go smoothly!

There is nothing quite so satisfying as the crunching sound of fresh veggies being picked. Thank you so much for sharing! We have some sensory issues as well and I love getting new ideas for fidget toys....and chew toys that are theirs and not our dogs 😂
I love how simple and wholesome your content is - it is so inspiring!

I am a kindergarten teacher and something that I am excited for #backtofall that I am looking forward to is using new resources in my classroom! I bought Secret Stories Phonics last Feb and loved it, but I am excited to start it at the beginning of the school year. I know its going to make a huge difference! I also got Heggerty Phonemic Awareness and Rime Magic to try this year as well. Its fun to try new things out.

Natalie, I have a daughter who I wasn't aware enough to realize had some sensory stuff going on. When she was old enough to know what she needed she ordered herself a cool necklace that was made to be chewed on. By then she was probably around 13 or so but she loved it! She's a really smart kid. Bravo for recognizing the need and providing for it. You are an amazing mom!

This year, I am currently testing the homeschool waters so not sure what my schedule will be like other than having a dedicated time for "school" and my one goal is to teach my son to read. He is pre-k/kindergarten since he's late born but I'm going to focus on pre-k at the moment. I'm just praying for extra grace & guidance as I also have a new born and two other littles in between. So I enjoy watching other moms and how their homeschool schedule is--being that this is all new to me since I grew up in public school. #backtofall

Totally not feeling ready for #backtofall , but it's here isn't it?! We have 5 kids ages 9-3, are in the process of minimalism and living a simple life, beginner homesteaders (just a garden and goats so far!) and we homeschool. We also follow a "simple homeschooling" plan, which has been a huge blessing the last couple years. The last few months have been very rough for us as we seek healing for my husband's chronic fatigue and I'm also recovering from chronic gut issues. Our oldest 2 boys are so close in age they're both going into 4th grade and our 3rd is going into 2nd grade, the youngest 2 are also very close and I'm just trying to keep them alive! haha. I feel like I'm dragging myself into this new school year, but your video kinda got me motivated to get things ready and maybe look forward to the next year a little more? God's got this next year though!

#backtofall My son is 4.5, so this is our first year homeschooling. I enrolled him in a part time Christian preschool for the afternoons when little sister is napping, and we joined a local Christian co-op that meets all day on Friday’s. For curriculum I’m doing The Good and the Beautiful for Language Arts, Math, and Science. We’ll do LA and Math daily and Science twice a week with our good friends, and that’s what we’ll incorporate art/home ec/field trips into. We’ve already been doing TGATB Language Arts and Math since last May and he’s currently a little ahead. He JUST started grasping the concept of reading and is doing so well! We will also have our first year of MOPS to look forward to! And my son will be doing his second year of Awana. Our whole family thrives on routine and I am VERY excited for this school year; just downright giddy. My daughter is 1.5 so she will just be along for the ride ;)

#backtofall I homeschool my four kids all year. We do take it easier in the summertime. We live in Michigan and I look forward to beautiful colors and the coziness of the fall. I'm forever grateful for the time I get to spend with my kids and the memories we've been able to make together.

Yesterday was our homeschool’s first day of school. I am homeschooling my 3 kids, pre-k, 1st grade (special needs), and high school 9th grade. It’s my second year homeschooling, my first with my oldest so I am quite nervous but also very excited. I work graveyard two nights a week. My middle has multiple therapies throughout the week in addition to our homeschool (speech, feeding therapy aba etc). So we will be very busy. I trust that this is God’s plan for our family and am prepared to take it on. ❤️

#backtofall Thank you for sharing your resources. My oldest is starting part time preschool and I'm excited to supplement his learning at home. You make me feel like that's doable! We are getting excited and organized for school by reading books about preschool, making picture routine charts, and going back to school shopping together. I want to set him up for success so we are starting our school routine a week early. If you have any other great tips let me know! As always, you are a joy to watch and happy fall!

Since homeschooling is so new for us I don’t have any big plans made for how we are schooling- thus why I am watching an experienced homeschool mom for inspiration. :) I do love how you are approaching it and hope to adopt the same thinking. Focus on the core subjects and have fun! Children thrive when learning is fun and that is one of the many reasons I’m excited to homeschool my daughter. #backtofall

My daughter is only 2 but she shows so much interest in learning activities like magnetic blocks and reading. She already knows most shapes and colours which blows my mind and can count to 15, but we are working on tying numbers to counting objects. I love the idea of homeschooling but my husband is not on board (he had a bad experience transitioning from elementary home school to public high school sadly) but it’s still great to get inspiration for what you do with your kiddos! #backtofall

We have 2/4 kiddos in public school!! But we have been considering homeschooling. Everything has been so on the go day to day that's just what works for us right now. It's been nice having more one on one time with the 2 little ones! And then when our third is in school we'll have 1 lille one at home for a year which I believe will be perfect to have alittle more time with her.Weve been making great strides in getting everything organized and can not wait to have the rest decluttered and organized! You give me inspiration every video to make our lives more manageable and therefore peaceful! #backtofall

#backtofall thank you so much for the inspiration! We homeschool also. We pick and choose from the Build Your Library curriculum and do a one day a week enrichment program (baking, studio art for my oldest and tea/manners, soccer, and literacy for my kindergartener)kindergartener. I was REALLY sick last year so I'm looking forward to field trips and enjoying the day to day with my sweeties this year!

#backtofall Hi, Natalie, my twins just turned 12 and started 6th grade on the 10th. I homeschooled them until they were 8 1/2 but one of them needed the school resources for dyslexia. I wish we could have continued to homeschool. It is such a blessing to be your child’s teacher!

#backtofall- Going to keep it as simple as possible! Our kiddos are 8 and 6 and are building habits like making their own lunches, managing morning routines, etc, so I think we'll be good! I will be homeschooling for the 4th year this year. I’ll be teaching 5th grade, 2nd grade, and 1st grade. We will school 4 days a week and go to a co-op the 5th day. We have already started school and it’s going ok, but we’ve had a few struggles and tears already. I’m glad there are so many TH-camrs sharing their homeschooling journeys. #backtofall

#backtofall we’ve already started back, we’re a homeschooling family as well. This year feels a little different because my oldest is in middle school but our daily rhythm is remaining the same. Morning basket, our unit study that we do all together and then each break off to do their independent subjects. I love starting our day all together.

#backtofall starting kindergarten this year with my oldest child (same age as hailey) and so excited! I’ve been watching you since the boys were 2 and have always been in “Awh” on how you homeschool. Me and my husband grew up through the public school system here in Washington state and had no idea where to start on homeschooling our kids. You’ve been such an inspiration to us throughout the years and made it seem so simple and less intimidating. Cheers to the school year for your beautiful family. ❤️

#backtoschool This fall is bittersweet. I'm a special education teacher in a psychiatric setting. I love my job and find such joy in teaching k-3 students who have unique learning and mental health needs. But I'm also leaving my little boy. We are so fortunate that he will be cared for by grandmas, but I wish it worked for our family for me to stay home full time. Trying not to sulk and feel grateful for all I have. I truly have so much I dont deserve. Loved seeing the sensory tools included in your haul!
